RURAL WASTE
INFORMATION
What are Rural Waste Centers? Rural Waste Service Centers are designated places for residents living in unincorporated Leon County to drop off their garbage and recycling. From there, the garbage is transported to the Leon County Transfer Station. Residents can bring yard waste, bulky items, electronics and limited types of hazardous waste to a Full Service Center (see back of brochure for loca-tions). Two locations are for garbage and recycling drop-off only and are considered “Limited Service Centers”.
Help is Available
All the Rural Waste Service Centers (RWSC) are staffed by helpful attendants.
Free Mulch
Free Mulch is available year-round at four of the RWSC’s (no mulch at Blount). If time and scheduling permits, the attendant will load one load of mulch per customer per day. If self-loading, bring your own shovel and bags/boxes and you may load an unlim-ited amount in a single day.
