System RequirementsMinimum supportedplatforms

Rumba+ Server is a Java Web server application that runs on the followingminimum supported platforms:

• Apache Tomcat 7.0.35• IBM WebSphere 8.5.5• Oracle Glassfish 3.1.2.2• JBoss EAP 6.1 and AS 7.1.1• Oracle WebLogic 12c

Rumba+ Webconnectivity

Rumba+ Server works with Rumba+ Web applications to connect to the followingtypes of host:

• Mainframe• AS/400

Rumba+ Webbrowser support

Rumba+ Web applications support the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer 9 or higher• Chrome 20 or higher

Rumba+ Mobileconnectivity

Rumba+ Server works with Rumba+ Mobile clients to connect to Rumba+ Webapplications from iPad mobile devices.

Prerequisite software Rumba+ Server can use either of the following database engines:

• MySL (http://www.oracle.com/us/products/mysql/overview/index.html)• MSSQL (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/default.aspx)

What's New3270 Host printing Rumba+ Server provides for 3270 printing in Rumba+ Web applications.

Supported output formats are HTML and PDF, 3270 host printing applicationproperties are configured with the Rumba+ Server Build Tool. Support isincluded for:

• Host dynamically assigned or specific device names.• Host associated printers.• Use input for device names at run-time.• Printer sharing.

Enhanced support forRumba+ controls

Support for the following Rumba+ controls is substantially enhanced:

• AutoExecution• Calendar: Editable format.• CheckBox, RadioButton: Ability to run an action automatically after the

control is updated.• Chooser• Tab: Header sizing.• Table: Data export, end of data option.• WebFrame: OnScreen option added.• Multi-line captions for Button, Label, Tooltip.• Multi-line tooltips for Button, Calendar, CheckBox, Chooser, InputField,

WebFrame.

Support for externalsession configurationparameters

Rumba+ Server now allows clients to externally override a set of global sessionconfiguration parameter values defined in the application. Allowed parametersand values are passed to the server in the client connect request URL.

Support for maskingsensitive informationin trace files

Sensitive information, such as passwords, can now be masked when using Rumba+ Server Tracing.

Known Issues3270 Hostprinting

If HTML output format is configured in the application, the pop-up blocker must bedisabled in the browser.

When received, the print document is displayed automatically in a separate browsertab.

GlassFish andWebSockets

If your Rumba+ application runs in GlassFish Application Server v3.1.2.2, and youplan to set up your Rumba+ application and application server to use WebSockets forfaster communication, contact Micro Focus SupportLine, or email supportline@microfocus.com for additional configuration settings.

AdministrationRumba+ Server is managed using the Rumba+ Server Administration Tool. This is a Web-based tool,supplied as part of the product, which allows you to:

• Collect statistics on applications deployed on the application server• Set global parameters• Monitor sessions• Manage licenses• Manage logging

SecurityRumba+ Server supports SSL connections from Ruimba+ Web and Rumba+ Mobile clients.

PerformanceWhen Rumba+ Server runs on a quad-processor machine with 16 GB of RAM, it provides a sub-secondresponse time for up to 1000 sessions getting service and for up to 5000 sessions connected to the host.

You can use WebSockets (asynchronous) technology for faster communication when a Rumba+ Webapplication runs on:

• Apache Tomcat 7.0.35• Glassfish 3.1.2.2

Native Websockets technology on GlassFish 4.0 is not supported by Rumba+ Web applications.

Additional information needed by Micro FocusSupportLine

If reporting a protection violation, you might be asked to provide a dump (.dmp) file. To produce a dumpfile, use the Unexpected Error dialog box that is displayed when a protection violation occurs.

Unless requested by Micro Focus SupportLine, leave the dump setting as Normal (recommended), clickDump, then specify a location and name for the dump file. Once the dump file has been written, you can e-mail it to Micro Focus SupportLine.

You may also be asked to provide a log file created by the Consolidated Tracing Facility (CTF) - a tracinginfrastructure that enables you to quickly and easily produce diagnostic information detailing the operationof a number of Micro Focus software components.
