A partlet resembles a modern day bolero-- a shortened jacket. In the case of a partlet, the partletis a drape that fall es over the shoulders and connects under the armpit (i t is sleeveless). It canbe work over the bodice as is seen in the picture below or it can be worn under the bodice. It isused for decoration and added warmth.
