5 Questions With…John T. Auberger, Supervisor

Town of Greece

1. Why did the Town decide to build the new Greece Justice Center? The previous space was leased space and part of the long term goals is to eliminate costly leasepayments and own instead.

2. What are the numbers for the new building—square footage, people working there, numberof offices, etc?

The new court is 11,000 square feet, there are 17 personnel working out of the facility, offices for judges and the Court Clerk, conference rooms, courtrooms, holding area, witness rooms. The majority of staff are in an open office plan.

3. What offices are housed there?

The offices of the Greece Justice Court are the only offices in the new building.

4/5. How will this new building benefit our local Greece residents? With Town Hall, the CommunityCenter, the Library and now the Courthouse all being located together you have created a "one-stop"location for local residents. Are there any futureplans to add to the Town Hall campus?

Locating all of our Town Buildings on one campusallows us the economies of scale with regard to infrastructure—parking lots, campus maintenance, staffing, etc. At some point it would be advantageous to locate the Police Department on campus as well. As always, that will be a financial decision as were the new buildings that have already been completed.
