ALWAYS BREWING UP A STORM

Rudgate Brewery was established in 1992. The brewery is situated at the heart of

Yorkshire in the Vale of York.

The original brewery was situated in the former ammunition building of RAF

Marston Moor Airfield which was home to the Halifax bombers that helped defend our

country during World War 2. The name comes from the old Roman road of `Rudgate’

which runs through the airfield. This road led the Vikings along our vale defeating the

Romans in their steps. This road and its history is what instigated the main theme of

Vikings for the brewery.

The brewery expanded into a modern new facility in 2010/11 on the same site. Rudgate

Brewery is nationally recognised with several awards to its name including CAMRA

Overall Champion beer of Britain 2009.

Brew 13 4.0% VOL - Orange Ginger Rye

Pale Rye malt and some colourful Rye crystal form the base of this orange hued ale, added to the spicy hops is a

touch of ginger and sweet orange peel to give it a flavoursome mouth feel.

Brew 14 5.2% VOL - IBA

Old world meets new in the creation of this Indian Black Ale, big bold hop aromas crash against the roasted dark

malts in waves of eclectic flavours.

Brew 19 4.8% VOL - Canadian Maple

Imported Pilsner, Abbey, Aromatic, Biscuit and vienna malts create a

sumptuous beer which is then barrel aged with lashing of maple syrup and bourbon vanilla pods leaving a soft,

slightly sweet deep golden ale.

Brew 20 3.8% VOL - Kafir Lime wheat beerFresh clean flavours from this citrus

hopped beer have been complemented by being infused with Kafir lime

leaves, in this classic European styled cloudy wheat beer. Fermented with

European yeast to give the authentic wheat beer aroma.

of wheat malt blended with crystal and chocolate malts are fermented
