Task 1

Skill: SpeakingTopic: Caught in the Rush (Transportation)Task context: 3° Grade of High School, Centro Educacional Evangélico de HualpénRole Play Activity.Students in groups of four have to create a dialogue in which they can express problems and solutions regarding public transportation and present it in front of the class orally. The task is a role play activity that requires from students to play two important characters of a city; the Mayor and the “Angry Citizens”. They will have to complain and present the different problematics regarding public transportation and the Mayor, in their capacity of leader, will present the solutions.Lesson Aim: By the end of the lesson students will be able to make a proper complain and give solutions written and orally.

Task: Get in groups of four. Imagine that one of you is the Mayor of your city and the rest of the group the “angry citizens”. Recall problems that you

can see in your city regarding traffic problems (you can think of your reality or problems seen in classes) and think of possible solutions.

Write down ten sentences. Five problems and five solutions. Decide who of you will be the Mayor and who will be the citizens. Present your sentences in front of the class.

E.g.

Citizen 1: I can’t stand how dangerous our city has become! There’s too much crime!Your Solution: I will hire more police officers to protect the streets!

Skill: ListeningTopic: Body parts.Task context: 1st Grade High school, Scuola Italiana.Completing activity.Students will have to listen to a boy who tells an embarassing story about his experience at the dentist. As they listen to it they have to complete the text with the missing words.
