Hi all – hope everyone is well. Who is suffering from PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome)? We are ALL ready for the weather to improve. Daylight Saving Time starts March 8 so Spring really is coming.

There were 13 members that attended Cabin Fever and a fun time was had by all. Unfortunately Chuck & Kathy did not get the District Couple of the Year but they did themselves proud and we are VERY proud of the representation of our Chapter and their valiant efforts.

! !From your Chapter Educators !Robert & Angela Williams !Joe Keller posted on Facebook a short story how he went out to his Wing and got ready to go for a ride and opened the garage door and found 8 inches of snow on the ground. He said oh well riding season is just a few short weeks away and closed the door. !It got me to thinking about if I am ready for that first ride of the season. Let’s see where did I put those winter gloves with the extra large gauntlet? I will need them since I will be wearing more layers at the beginning of the riding season. Thinking of Layers, I need to make sure I have that extra liner, the quilted one, to put under my Riding Coat that has the rain liner. I need to pull out my stocking mask with the neck ring to keep my neck protected and maybe get it washed along with my helmet liner, sure don’t want it to smell bad on my first ride. � !I remember that at the last rally I had purchased some of the anti-fog cream for my glasses and face shield which I need to pull it out of the closet and put in the bike. Riding pants, do they still fit? It has been a long winter and I may have lost (put on a few lbs) a few pounds so I had better check to ensure they still fit. !I need to dig into the back of the closet and fetch my riding boots. Then get out the gel and water proof them so my feet don’t get wet and cold. I think the boots still have another year left in them. !Just now thought about those nice rides I dreamed up. Where did I put those new Ohio/Kentucky/Pennsylvania maps that I marked up for some new rides this year? Need to find them and put them on the bike. !Speaking of maps, the GPS reminded me that I needed to update it with new maps. I need to go hook it up the laptop and make sure it has all its updates and the current Maps installed that I paid for last year. What about the first aid kit? I need to get new non-latex gloves and replace the ones on the bike, I think 6 pairs should do. It is time to add some more Compress Bandages and tape. I remember when riding on the Tail of the Dragon when Fred Fish (May he Rest in Peace) had his accident and thankfully we had all the stuff to fix him up. Maybe next time it will be my turn. !Not sure where this came from but the Movie “Batteries not Included” just came to mind…Flash Light, I need to replace those batteries in the Flash Light. One never knows where and when inspiration will come. !Yeah I had a birthday over the winter months; I need to make sure I put those new stickers on the license plates. A few years ago I failed to do this and a nice officer in Youngstown stopped and reminded me that I needed to do that before riding anymore that year (no ticket given just a friendly smile). !I can’t forget to call my insurance agent and have my Liability and Collision coverage reinstated and new insurance cards mailed out. !!! Secretary’s Report By Andie Dorsey !!!Meeting was called to order by Keith Williams who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Meeting was attended by 22 members. !Cabin Fever was attended by 13 members. Kathy and Chuck Fishburn competed in the District Couple of the Year and did us all proud by their valiant effort. Robert reported that it was a very close competition with only 9 points between first and 4th. Chuck and Kathy also created Movie themed centerpiece and Pat Wysocki competed in Ugly Sweater contest. Several people won certificates for winning games. !Feb 14, 6pm – Game Night Party at Mike and Andie’s house. Bring covered dish to share and $5. Ohio Rides-Join Us on the Journey I am writing to let you know about a fantastic new partnership we are rolling out for Ohio GWRRA which will allow our Ohio members to access vital legal and ID Theft services while financially benefitting your own GWRRA chapter. We have formed a relationship with LegalShield which provides inexpensive access to top quality legal services and uniquely restorative Identity Theft protection for members and their families. As we have seen over the past couple of years, Identity Theft has become an epidemic. The LegalShield solution not only informs you of potential breaches in your identity, but when a breach occurs, unlike other ID theft products which only inform you of the breach, LegalShield guarantees to restore you to where you were before the breach occurred. With the exposure we all have while travelling and all of the news we have heard related to Identity Theft, we feel this is a very relevant product for our membership. In addition to the value your members receive with LegalShield, we have arranged for Ohio GWRRA to receive a “group discount” and a 4% finder fee on every membership which comes through either the state website (see each area under www.ohiogwrra.org) or is specially noted on a paper application as “Ohio GWRRA”. This finder fee will recur EVERY YEAR in which the LegalShield membership is kept. That’s right! Each year your members keep their LegalShield membership, Ohio GWRRA will receive 4%. At the end of each year, the state will send 50% of the finder’s fee back to the individual chapters. REMEMBER: This not only applies to your chapter members, but ANYONE that you know who you send to the Ohio GWRRA site. They will get a discount on the LegalShield service, and all of Ohio GWRRA will benefit including your local chapter. In addition, if you have local businesses who would be interested in making LegalShield a voluntary benefit for their employees, we can even send that through this relationship and benefit your chapter even more! We have asked Todd Goodwin who is representing LegalShield in this new relationship to contact each of our chapters and spend about 20 minutes with you at a Chapter Gathering to explain this new relationship to your members. We are asking that you arrange to have him or his associates out and ask as many questions as you like. As your state staff, we believe in this product and are very excited to be able to bring you this ongoing fundraising opportunity.
