Long awaited Diamond Jubilee celebrations at last started with a bang on 28th June 2018. Same day President Rajavarma Ariga and his team for 2019-20 were installed at Town Hall, Udupi. PRIP Kalyan Banerjee was the Chief Guest of the Installation meeting. Aide to Chief Guest was DG Rtn.Abhinandan Shetty, Rtn. Dr.A. Ganesh, Rtn. Chandra Naik, Rtn. Rajaram Bhat, Rtn. Dr. Sesappa A.Rai and Rtn. Sathish. A melodious Rotary song written by Ann.Shashikala on the 4-way test and Annette Sangeetha who put tune to it was sung accompanied by Rtn. Rohit Shetty and Rtn.Geetha Kaushik. Diamond Jubilee Chairman, PDG. Rtn.Dr. H. Shantharam welcomed the large gathering of 500 visiting Rotarians, Anns, guests, Rotarians of our club and their spouses. He mentioned in his welcome address that RCUM are the pioneers to start the magic grant project. A video covering the journey of 60 years of RCUM was projected. Felicitation to Charter member Dr. A. Krishna Rao was done.PDG’s and Past Presidents of RCUM were recognized with the theme of every PDG read out. Rtn. Abhinandan Shetty admired the planning of this journey for human kind by the charter members of the club. He termed RCUM as an ICON and appreciated their projects. Rtn. A Ganesh congratulated RCUM for 100% TRF contribution and generating myRotary id’s for all the club members.

President 2019-20 Rtn. Rajavarma Ariga thanked the gathering for providing this task to move the RCUM forward under his leadership. He was pleased to introduce his team for 2019-20. Vote of thanks was proposed by IPP Rtn. Amith Aravind. Master of Ceremonies Rtn. Shubha and Rtn. Dr. Virupaksha did a good job. The event was meticulously planned, managed and executed by Chairman PDG. Rtn. Dr. H. Shantharam and RCUM members. Overall, it was a memorable evening to cherish.
