Setting the Parameters of ODU Ports

This section describes how to set the parameters of ODU ports, including the RF attributes, power attributes, and advancedattributes of the ODU.

    Prerequisite

The required IF boards must be added.

The corresponding ODU must be added in the slot layout diagram.

    Procedure

    1. Select the ODU from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration > ODU Interface from theFunction Tree.

    2. Click the Radio Frequency Attributes tab.

    3. Configure the TX frequency and T/R spacing.

    4. Click Apply.

    5. Click the Power Attributes tab.

    6. Configure the transmit power and receive power of the ODU.

    7. Click Apply.

    8. Click the Advanced Attributes tab.

    9. Set Configure Transmission Status.

    10. Click Apply.

Parameter Value Range Default Value Description

    Transmit Frequency(MHz)

    - - The parameter specifies the channel

    center frequency.

This parameter cannot be set to a valuethat is less than the minimum Transmitfrequency supported by the ODU + 50%channel spacing or more than the maximumTransmit frequency supported by the ODU -50% channel spacing.

    The difference between the Transmit

frequencies of both the ends of a radio link isa T/R spacing.

Set this parameter according to the

    planning.

    Maximum TransmitPower (dBm)

    - - This parameter cannot be set to a value

that exceeds the rated power rangesupported by the ODU.

Set this parameter to limit the maximum

transmit power of the ODU within this presetvalue. The maximum transmit power adjustedby ATPC should not exceed this value.

Set this parameter according to the

    planning.

Transmit Power (dBm) - - This parameter cannot be set to a value

that exceeds the nominal power rangesupported by the ODU.

The Transmit power of the ODU should be

set to the same value at both the ends of aradio link.

Set this parameter according to theplanning.

Receive Power (dBm) - - This parameter is used to set the

expected receive power of the ODU and ismainly used in the antenna alignment stage.

After this parameter is set, the NEautomatically enables the antennamisalignment indicating function.

    When the antenna misalignment indicating

function is enabled, if the actual receivepower of the ODU exceeds the range ofreceive power3 dB, the ODU LED of the IFboard connected to the ODU is on (yellow) for300 ms and off for 300 ms repeatedly, indicating that the antenna is not aligned.

After the antenna alignment, after the

state that the antenna is aligned lasts for 30minutes, the NE automatically disables theantenna misalignment indicating function.

Set this parameter according to the

    planning.

T/R Spacing (MHz) 0-4294967.295 - This parameter indicates thespacing between the TX power and

receive power of the ODU. IfStationType of the ODU is TX high, the TXpower is one T/R spacing higherthan the receive power. IfStationType of the ODU is TX low, the TXpower is one T/R spacing lower thanthe receive power.

If the ODU supports only one T/Rspacing, set this parameter to 0,indicating that the T/R spacingsupported by the ODU is used.

The T/R spacing of the ODUshould be set to the same value atboth the ends of a radio link.

mute, unmute unmute When this parameter is set tomute, the transmitter of the ODUdoes not work but the ODU cannormally receive microwave signals.

When this parameter is set tounmute, the ODU can normallyreceive and transmit microwavesignals.

Generally, this parameter takesthe default value.
