3. Research methodology and design 3.1 describe and evaluate a. research site/context: this research explore the differences and similarities between the public and private sector manufacturing firms of Bangladesh and point out Recruitment and selection is one the most important functions of HR. !his research emphasi"e of the proper recruitment and selection. oreover the research also reveal that newspapers continued to be the most commonly used sourced of recruitments. b. methods of data collection# this research using $uestionnaire survey as a method to gather data. !he $uestionnaire using in this research has t hree parts: o the first part: assess the status of recruitment and selectio n practices of the firm o the second and third parts: related to the sources of recruitment and selection devices respectively with %yes/no& $uestions. 'n order to compose the contents that fit with the purpose of this research. !he $uestionnai re were prepared with the support of leading literature( models( theories and text pertaining to the sub)ect and $uestion of the research. !hen these contents will be approve by a panel of expert HR managers. c. sample si"e Because this research is using to assess the status of recruitment and selection practices of the public and private sector manufacturing firms of Bangladesh. 't applied the stratified random sampling techni$ue to get a representative sample si"e. !here are *+ useable $uestionna ires for this study included ,* from public sector and 3- from private sector.  'n this research( using additive approach to measure the status of recruitment and selection of public and private sector manufacturing firms of Banglades h. 't means( the HR manager will be ased to indicate using 0item scale( the extent each practice tae place in their firms. !he responses are then added together and the expectation is that a higher figure indicates better status of recruitment and selection practices. d. data analysis: this research( status of recruitment and selection practices of the public and private sector manufacturing firm was assess by item table 32 and - criteria sample si"e (. mean ( standard deviatio n 45( and standard error of the mean of the items. !he table -( show the determining whether these differences were statistically significan t( independe nt0samples t0test was carried out for every items.
