    EYELET PLACEMENT

Themost eectiveway ofsecuring eyelets is to gradually spread thebres ofthecoutil usingawls ofincreasingsize.

Do not cut a holefor theeyelet, this will weaken thexing, due to tearing, and stretch-ingofthe coutil, theeyelets would then fall out over time.

LEATHER PADS:Ifyou would liketo add couturehippads to yourcorset then cut these panels in 3mm

thick tough leather and pleasewatch theassociated video tutorial.found at:http://www.ralphpink.com/

    EXTERIOR PIECES FOR HIP PADCORSET

Thesepattern pieces replacethe exterior surfaceofthe corset (only ifyou arebuild-

ingin hippads). They are a dierent shapeto theoriginal sidebackand sidepanels. When theinterior and exterior surfaces nally cometogether there will bebetween

thepanels to accomodatethe hippads. If this spaceis not lled with thepads, thentheexterior surfacewill collapseand beoppy! :)

    PIPING/CHORDING (OPTIONAL)

Theselines show theaddition ofpipingchanels for added strength and support at the

shoulder straps.I havecreated a tutorial on this technique which can befound here:http://www.ralphpink.com/archives/1881

    BONING AT SIDESEAM:

This is exactly thesameas the boningon all other panels, however thecolour ofthelineis yellow simply to helprecognition ofthepanel and its positioningin thecorset

CORSET BONING CHANNELS:Theselines indicatethechannels that will need to bestitched in each panel piece.

Pleasenote:this line is 5mm at theseams ofmost panel pieces.this indicates boningshould beplaced over this seam.thereforea 1cm widestrip ofboningwill overlap

either sideofeach seam by 5mm.I hopethis makes sense?

    SEAMALOWANCE

    ACTUALSEAMOF CORSET PATTERN

IMPORTANT READ FIRST:This PDF contains 2corsets, they areboth very similar, but theyre diculty varies.an idea is to make a toileof PATTERN1 rst

then ifyou arecondent progress to PATTERN2 (hipextensions).

    PATTERN1

This is thestandard version of this corset. If you wish to makea corset without hip extensions, then please usethis pattern only.

simply cut each pattern pieceas indicated.

    PATTERN2

Is based on PATTERN1 however thereis a slight dierenceat the sideseam and hip. This corset uses hippads or hipextensions to createa

moredrastic corset shape, narrowing thewaist and enlargingand pointingthehi ps forward.

Ifyou wish to makethis alternatecorset instead ofthestandard version, then pleasecut out both PATTERN 1& PATTERN2. PATTERN1 forms theinterior surfaceof thecorset, thepart that sits against thebody, and PATTERN2 forms theexterior surfaceofthe corset.Because PATTERN2

is slightly larger at thehip it forms a pocket for thehip pads to beinserted between PATTERN1 & PATTERN2.
