A Director’s first and foremost responsibility is building her unit by example, with the most important aspect being personal recruiting. It astonishes me to watch a competent woman frustrated at not seeing her unit grow– yet in looking at her personal recruits, there are few! This is why the unit is not growing! To avoid the personal risk of feeling rejected in a personal recruiting interview, the Director has busied herself with holding classes, calling for reorders, making deliveries and trying to motivate her existing consultants– but NOT on RECRUITING!! We have turnover in this business. People’s circumstances change. They get divorced, they have babies, they move, they fall in love, they fall out of love, etc. How can we allow ourselves to base our entire future on the existing base of consultants we have when we know that there will not be events occurring beyond the control of you, their director? Gradually, as time goes by with the Director, NOT recruiting, the unit gets smaller and smaller!
