THE ROYAL EXCHANGE

It is a victorian style building that was built in 1792 and had several changes through the years for differents reasons.

This building is located in heart of Manchester city center between Market Street and Cross Street.

PURPOSE IN THE PAST

This building took tittle “Manchester Royal Exchange” after the Queen Victoria was received here, during her visit of Manchester in 1851.

This building was founded in 1792 and was used as a business center, its best days were during the 1920s when the cotton industry flourished in Lancashire and Manchester became the most important commercial center of the cotton industry during the revolution indrustrial.

PURPOSE TODAY

Today, Royal Exchange Theatre Company works in this building, which it was founded 1976, the building has small study of futuristic style, and there are shopping stores and offices in other areas.
