Operation Support Manager – Aircraft Maintenance Support Services Ltd
Providing support to the Managing director, delivering services which include the following:
Quality Manager
o Responsible for the Management of the ISO9001-2008 and continued accreditation.
o Carry out regular internal audits to ensure the Company meets the requirements of the
ISO Standard.
o Carry out Competency assessments of all Production Staff(104 employees) throughout the
year
Health and Safety Manager
o Responsible for the Management and continuous updating of all Health and Safety issues
in the Factory
o Chair monthly Health and Safety Circles and progress any proposals

o Manage all Environmental Licences and ensure compliance is Maintained
o Liaise with external Agencies to ensure that Legal requirements are enforced in accordace
with Local and National regulations
o Manage the disposal of all Waste; General, Wood, Cardboard, Metals, Confidential
documents and all Hazardous waste.

service to the Production Manager to achieve the delivery output to the customer.

Operational Support Manager – Aircraft Support Vehicles, Aircraft Ground Support Equipment
and Fuels Operations Control
SME for the provision of manpower and equipment in support of worldwide current and future Aircraft
operations. Operating extremely effectively in pressure situations, meeting tight timelines, to support
Military Deployed Operations. Directly responsible for the deployment of equipment, manpower and
infrastructure, required to balance the equipment and manning against the task in austere conditions.
Currently Leading a Tri-service team to implement the aims of Future Airfield Support Engineering(FASE)
at all operational locations by challenging units to deliver 25% best effort savings and directly advising on
methods to reduce military manpower on Operations including increased value for defence support by
using contracted organisations.
Respond to and resource all equipment requests in support of operations to satisfy defined
timelines set by head office successfully.
Scrutinise equipment and manning requirement on a daily basis to ensure effective operational
support is maintained at all times.
On the introduction of a new deployment, effectively identify all tradesmen and operators have
the correct skill sets and competencies in place to support sustained operations. Ensure
contractors required to support operations have all the necessary information, training and
equipment to operate in austere locations.
Collate a weekly brief for the Chief Engineer on the serviceability of all equipment and manpower
availability in support of aircraft operations and identifying any shortfalls that may have any
direct impact.
Single point of contact for all management and support issues on worldwide operations with
regard to aircraft and airfield support equipment.
Ensure all the necessary refuelling equipment for ground equipment and aircraft operations are in
place to maintain vital support to the air operations. Legislative facilities and regulations are in
place and identifying essential spares to maintain the equipment for the operational tempo.
2004 – 2007
Aircraft Support Engineering Operations Manager and Lean Transformation Practitioner
Responsible for the delivery of serviceable equipment to support Helicopters operating in Northern
Ireland, including armaments, survival equipment and refuelling bowsers. Lead Manager on the
introduction and implementation of lean transformation at RAF Aldergrove.
Managed a team of 130+ tradesmen in support of operations in Northern Ireland.
Developed a lean transformation team of 8 tradesmen and further embedded the Quality
department of 4 personnel into the organisation.
Selected to represent Director of Operations at Head Office to discuss manpower requirements and
savings identified with the heads of department.
SME advising how to drive forward any future proposals including amalgamation of like work areas
and identifying reductions of manpower whilst providing the same output.
2009 – 2010
6 month tour in Afghanistan as Battlefield Incident Co-ordinator in the Theatre Headquarters
Co-ordinator, collating all information on coalition forces casualties and battlefield incidents for the whole
of Afghanistan, requiring direct liaison with many of the 47 coalition force organisations and battle-
groups. Forward all reports for the attention of UK Head office within 2 hours of any incident and
maintaining an accurate operational record. Part of an embedded team of 15 intelligence personnel
operating 12 hr shifts in an austere environment over a 6 month period.
Prepared presentations for the Commander on a daily basis where the operational awareness was
highlighted to all personnel.
Out of Hours focal point for all compassionate issues requiring the repatriation of personnel to the
UK within 24hrs of instigation.
Collate information on incidents and equipment failures and respond in a timely fashion to ensure
the Battle Rhythm was maintained.

Reached the level of Senior Operations Manager within a trade of 1750 personnel.
Lead teams of personnel ranging from 5 to 130 at 16 different locations and employment
throughout my career and satisfactorily achieved all aims.
