    Presidents Message

Hello Everyone The Club’s Muster and General meeting at Esk Caravan Park was a fantastic weekend. There was a great roll up from our members with 43 members in attendance. We had a couple of “first timers” in attendance on the weekend and our newer members were made very welcome. It reinforces the adage that “There are no strangers in our club, only friends you haven’t met”. The Pickled Pork and Corned Meat dinner on the Friday night prepared by Carlo and Vicki, with a little help from their friends, was very well received and the festivities continued well into the night. On the Saturday morning, a General meeting was held and it was pleasing to see members participating and talking about the future directions of the Club. Helen Stevens presented an excellent summary of the results of our second Member Survey and then we spent some time reviewing our activities and what can be done to further improve our Club. The Management Committee are reviewing all the recommendations that came from the survey and where possible or feasible we will look to implement some of those recommendations. There is a summary copy of the survey available on the Club’s website and it is pleasing that again, our members indicated that we are 4.5 stars out of 5. It was also pleasing to again see members volunteering to take on roles as “Apprentices” for a number of our Committee positions. The usual non-competitive games were held in the afternoon, and the active card playing group played Canasta as well. On Saturday night, many members meandered their way to the Hotel for dinner followed by a few ports back at the Caravan Park. Following the Esk muster, some members overnighted at Hampton and at the Rudd Pub at Nobby before meeting up at the Maryvale Hotel for the start of the 2019 Mystery Tour. The spit roast pork and beef for dinner at the Maryvale Hotel was another great feast and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. After an over-night in the paddock we awoke to get our GPS coordinates from our swinging peg before heading off to Glen Innes for a couple of nights. A free camp at the First Fleet Gardens at Wallabadah, and then onto Mudgee for a 3 night layover. Many vineyards and interesting places to visit in Mudgee, Gulgong, Hill End and surrounds. From there we have headed to Oberon and the Jenolan Caves. Still 12 days to go on the Mystery tour as I write this report. Judy and I look forward to catching up with you all again at Canungra. Some of the Mystery tour photos are up on the Club website, so don’t forget to regularly check the website for the photos and Updates on everything happening within the Club. Take care and travel safely. Brian and Judy Gill

    Secretary’s Message

The office is currently mobile, attending the Mystery Tagalong and supporting members who are having an

    incredible time.

    Domestic travel insurance.

Various members have had to pull out of trips since Christmas and the financial loss is mounting up. Rea-

sons for refunds are now ‘admin costs’ ‘use the money in the next year’ to ‘no refund if cancelling less than

30 days’. It is not the office responsibility to chase refunds, as stated in the LPD and tagalong guidelines,

members are responsible for undertaking this. If you are attending a long trip please consider domestic

    travel insurance.

    2019 CCQ/RRVC Mystery Tagalong.

Still vacancies for members. CCQ have been given ample time to register as have our newer members. If

you wish to redo a trip just send in your registration and first payment. who have not attended a long

    paddock drive or tagalong.

    Mount Warning Spit Roast

Members are reminded the spit roast needs to be paid by 1April 19

    Esk Muster Outcome

A huge thank you to those members who came forward to support the club by taking up assistant positions

and volunteering to take up committee positions in November.

    Reminder to Committee

Please start doing your Annual Report submissions for 30 June 2019, if you need a copy of last years submis-

    sions please ask me.

For those of you who haven’t heard, our Secretary used the

facilities at Caves House, Jenolan Caves and inadvertently

pushed the emergency help button instead of the flush

Freom A huge Member of Our Club

On Saturday 19 January 2019, members of the Roustabouts RV Club Inc. met with Rick and Ingrid Jewson, owners of Freom, to thank them at the Clubs annual partner event at Broadwalk Tavern, Hope Island.

Freom met with Chris and Brian in September 2016 and discussed the concept of a website that could be used on a daily basis supporting all RV Club activity. Rick and Ingrid immediately came onboard with a handshake, worked with the club founders on a design and then provided Chris with website development and ongoing training. The website was released in January 2017 and since, Freom has introduced rigorous security measures and registration processes.

Freom also provide ongoing training, hosting, security, club messaging and 24/7 support to committee members. The support provided goes far beyond what is normally considered ‘good service’, with both Rick and Ingrid responding immediately to the myriad of issues posed by committee members utilising, club email messaging, Dropbox and website management.

During 2018, Rick and Ingrid while touring European countries responded to a server issue within 30 minutes of notification, entered committee member computers to correct issues, sorted out security issues and generally answered questions posed by the Club Webmaster.

The ongoing 24/7 support provided is seamless; in fact, committee members didn’t know the location of Rick and Ingrid until after their holiday conclud-ed.

The presentation at the Broadwalk Tavern was recognition of the incredible support given to the Roustabouts.

A member of the Club stated at the luncheon ‘gentlemen’s agreements really do work’ and indeed they do for Freom and our Club.
