NPLNSW.COM.AU 1ST GRADE MATCH PREVIEW
1ST GRADE - NPL NSW MEN’S
Bonnyrigg White Eagles will be determined to get their season back on track with a win
against Rockdale City Suns on Saturday night.
Brian Brown’s squad was embarrassed 4-0 by Blacktown City last week and are in need of a morale boosting victory.
A return home to Bonnyrigg Sports Club could be the perfect tonic for the White Eagles.
Jewook Woo has been a shining light for Bonnyrigg as their best performer so far this season and he will be expected to continue his impressive performances.
Although he had an off game last round, David Bradasevic has been in good touch for new club Bonnyrigg and the chance to get one against former side Rockdale is sure to spur him on.
For the Suns, Saturday nights clash will also be a chance to return to winning ways.
Despite a win in the opening round, Paul Reid’s side have yet to truly find their groove and it was evident in a 3-2 loss to Sydney United 58 in Round 3.
Alec Urosevski and Jordan Figon offer the Suns plenty of attacking options while midfielders Harris Gaitatzis and Blake Ricciuto are the engines which power the team. A red card to Aleks Canak will mean he will miss this Easter weekend clash.
While it is still early days both sides will be desperate to keep on track for finals football with victory on Saturday.

#NPLNSWMATCH REVIEWSBlacktown City FC 4 – Bonnyrigg White Eagles 0 at Lily Holmes Stadium
A Charles Mendy hat trick helped Blacktown City secure back to back victories after hammering Bonnyrigg White Eagles 4-0 at Lily’s Football Centre on Saturday evening.
The former Peninsula Power attacker opened the scoring from the penalty spot early in the first half and clinched a second later on alongside fellow home debutant Devante Clut as Mark Crittenden’s side raced to a commanding 3-0 lead at half time.
Mendy sealed the treble after slotting home his second spot kick on the hour mark to cap an impressive home debut at Lily’s and consign the travelling White Eagles to a dismal defeat.
Rockdale City Suns FC – Sydney United 58 FC at Ilinden Sports Centre
Sydney United 58 has broken through for their first win of season clinging on for a 3-2 victory against Rockdale City Suns at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday.
Chris Payne’s 60th minute strike was the difference as United 58 fought back from two early goals to give new coach Jason Culina his first points in charge of a National Premier Leagues NSW outfit.
The visitors took the lead through Patrick Antelmi, only to trail through goals from Jordan Figon and Alec Urosevski before equalising in first-half stoppage time when Yianni Pertakis found the net.
Payne then thundered home the winner midway through the second period for United 58 as they ended their streak of back to back defeats.

NPLNSW.COM.AU U20’S MATCH PREVIEWBonnyrigg White Eagles will be looking for
a response when they host Rockdale City Suns at Bonnyrigg Sports Club on Saturday afternoon.
A disappointing 3-0 loss to Blacktown in round three was one of the poorer performances in recent seasons from a usually exciting White Eagles side and Hamish Brown’s men should be aiming to banish that display with an assertive showing at home.
Visitors Rockdale are also entering the encounter at Bonnyrigg on the back of a heavy defeat after the Suns were beaten handsomely 4-0 by Sydney United 58 last Sunday. Rockdale are without a win in their three matches played so far this season and despite an excellent opening day performance against Sutherland Sharks the Suns will need to deliver a strong effort away from home to get their season up and rolling.
