    The Native Seeds ProjectExploringSustainability

The Student Environmental Association (SEA) at theUniversity of Michigan-Dearborn collected native plantseeds from the U of M-Dearborn EnvironmentalInterpretive Center (EIC) rain garden.

These plants are naturally adapted for low-maintenance care, look great, can hold their own againstthe elements, make a great home for lots of nativeanimals, and do a fine job taking up water when it rains. Our rivers and tributaries dont flood as quickly, which isgreat for the things living in the water in more ways thanwe have space to explain here.To find out more, you canvisit the EIC at 4901 Evergreen Drive, Dearborn MI 48128

free of charge to talk to the friendly staff, explore the RainGarden, and discover the other campus natural areas orhttp://www.umd.umich.edu/eic/.

The SEAs vision:To make the social, economic, and ecological environment

accessible and relevant to current and future studentsthrough quality events, re-creational activities, and ultimately

cultivating a more vibrant, sustainable community on andaround campus.

To achieve this we refer to our Mission:The SEA informs, educates, and empowers students to

acknowledge the greater community; engage theirenvironment; develop a sense of wonder; and take informed, compassionate, sustainable action for social responsibility,

    economic prosperity, and ecological integrity.
