In our development of new products the control of the ma-
terial and the knowledge about the different chassis requi-
rements are inseparably connected. From the beginning
we decided with ROTWILD on an independent approach,
because our view of high-quality frames and their perfect
function requires the control of absolute high-level tech-
nology and the knowledge about the crucial parameters.
Intensive research for many years and close co-operation
with prominent technology partners, most modern testing
methods, and comprehensive tests with international
top-class athletes enable our experts to implement path
breaking ideas and genuine passion for the bike sport with
innovative solutions.
The ROTWILD engineers place the highest demands and
leave nothing to coincidence. We keep each individual
progress in hand both in each development cycle and du-
ring the complete manufacturing process. Because only
uncompromising quality control is sufficient for our de-
mand on the integrated development process of a bikes,
in which we develop efficient technology and consistently
convert our technical expertise into each ROTWILD
product. So that in the end we created a ROTWILD bike,
which convinces with fascinating riding performance and
which is suited for each personal preference and each
area of application.

RoTWILD
RoTWILD moDuL monocoque TechnoLogyNo other material offers as much potential as carbon. In
order to be able to optimize the performance characte-
ristics further, we at ROTWILD comprehensively invested
in basic research. The result is the new manufacturing
method we call Module Monocoque Technology (MMT).
The MMT technology makes the construction and the
production of carbon frames possible, with which the
material properties can be used optimally. Additionally the
MMT technology offers high process security as well as
an extensive quality assurance over the entire manufac-
turing process – only so it is possible to convert the extre-
mely high manufacturing requirements for carbon frames.
Starting point for the production of MMT carbon frames
forms our Seamless Fusion Procedure (SFT). With the
help of this technology it is possible for our processing
experts to interconnect the frames from individual
prefabricated modules smoothly in order to manufacture
an extremely homogeneous carbon structure, which is
absolutely free from creases.
At the same time the module production allows an
optimal quality assurance. Each module is manufactured
thereby on the basis of a given processing plan by experi-
enced experts in manual work, checked and documented
directly afterwards for its quality. If the frame is joined
together to a whole in the concluding manufacturing step,
we use only modules, which successfully went through
quality controls, which had been defined before.
Central aspect of the MMT technology is the choice of
materials. In principle for each ROTWILD carbon frame
only raw materials are used, which are subject to the air
and space travel industry guidelines and are certified
accordingly. The starting point, in terms of material are so
called “Prepregs”, a fibre semi-finished material. These
up to 0,007 mm thin carbon fibres are already pre-imp-
regnated with epoxy resin (matrix) and they are available
in the form of roles for the subsequent treatment. The
quality of this pre-impregnating is crucial for the later
characteristics of the carbon frame, because only the
constant distribution and the correct volume-ratio from
fibre to resin leads to the ideal power-to-weight ratio.
With the help of the MMT technology different load-fair
fibre types can be used. For the production of ROTWILD
carbon frames, mainly so-called HT-fibres (HT = High
Tenacity) are used. Due to the modular structure frame,
it is now possible to also use different carbon fibre types
(HM = High Modulus or HST = High Strain and Tenacity)
mmT

besides HT-fibres, in order to purposefully improve spe-
cial problem definitions like e.g. higher rigidities (HM) or
the mechanical behaviour of the frame with falling rocks
or impacts (HST).
Apart from the pure weight reduction compared to
metallic materials, especially the absorption characte-
ristics of the material come to play with the ROTWILD
frames, which are produced with the MMT procedure.
High frequency oscillations or vibrations, which will arise
with the fast riding over roots or stones, are reduced
better (energy absorption) in the large boundary surface
between fibre and resin (matrix) compared to metallic
materials (e.g. aluminum).
Before the MMT manufacturing process, our engineers
purposefully adjust the rigidities and/or flexibleness, and
the so-called „comfort“ of the carbon of the frame. By
a precise selection of fibre orientation and wall thickness
in combination with the different fibre types the characte-
ristics of the individual modules can be directly affected
in accordance with the construction and development
defaults.
The new ROTWILD production technology MMT makes
an improved conversion of the extremely elaborate and
complex requirement at construction, the manufacturing
and quality assurance of carbon frames possible. Since
the entire production process is subdivided into individual
process steps (modules), the sources of error are elimi-
nated before.
New ways in the frame construction become feasible,
because now the possibility exists to precisely affect the
mechanical characteristics of the ROTWILD frame (rigidity,
indulgence or absorption characteristics) and to solve
material-specific problem definitions (sensitivity to impact)
both during the development and during the manufactu-
ring of the ROTWILD frame.

// FiG. 1
In order to be able to ensure an optimum quality assu-
rance over the entire manufacturing process, the elaborate
production of the frame is made in separate manufactu-
ring steps. The construction is subdivided into individual
modules at the junctions and points of force application
(e.g. top tube gusset). The specialists manufacture precise
positive forms of these junctions. On the basis of an exact-
ly defined placing plan (layup) the fibre layers cut for this
junction are put down in careful manual work according
to the layup default (type of fibre, sequence, position and
orientation of the individual layers).
// FiG. 2
With the Seamless Fusion procedure (SFT) the ROTWILD
engineers developed a procedure in co-operation with
our carbon processing experts to join individual modules
together free from creases. Beside the special form of the
module connections, the large connecting surface of the
modules resulting from the procedure at the same time
leads to a clear increase of the life span of the frame.

// FiG. 3
The highest priority is the ROTWILD quality standard. This
requires precision in detail and in each manufacturing
step. In the monocoque form all modules become an inte-
grated construction unit, in which all functional elements
(e.g. inlays, gussets, bearing points) are integrated and do
not have to be embedded into the frame afterwards, any
longer. All prefabricated modules are put into one ano-
ther by hand and inserted into the monocoque form. At
the same time silicone hoses are drawn into the modules
and attached to valves through openings in the form (seat
tube, steering tube). Afterwards the form is heated up and
the hoses running inside are put under pressure, so that
the prepreg modules are pressed towards the external wall
of the form. Due to the melting process of the resin the
individual modules connect to a final high-strength lami-
nate: A ROTWILD MMT carbon frame.
// FiG. 4
ROTWILD Modul Monocoque Technology: At the end of
the manufacturing process the individual modules, as
integral components, form the entire ROTWILD carbon
frame: With a new manufacturing quality, optimized STW
values and outstanding handling characteristics, which
become apparent immediately during riding.

vide for ultimate racing with their performance. Here ef-
ficiency, propulsion-will and dynamics can be felt in each
climb and in each descent. Developed successfully with
the feedback of top professional athletes, built for the har-
dest mountain bike racing courses and tested successfully

ROTWILD MMT stands for intelligent lightweight carbon
fibre composite frames: This innovative frame concept of
the R2 models consists of a highly efficient carbon con-
struction, which is assembled in a new manufacturing
method from individual tubes to a complete monocoque
frame. Numerous improvements in the system charac-
teristics increase the efficiency of the R2 frame. The
aggressive frame shape with its newly designed steering
tube leaves no room for doubts: This means more perfor-
mance than ever before. The new module absorbs torsion
and bending forces optimally. The integrated 1.5 tapered
steering tube improves the steering precision and makes
the use of full carbon forks possible. Where energy is con-
verted directly into propulsion, the BB92 integrated bottom
bracket system and ROTWILD’s own ODT (Carbon Over-
sized Double Tube) bottom bracket increase the rigidity for
better power transmission.

For a sporty stretched seating position the race bikes pos-
ses an extended top tube compared to the ROTWILD cross
country models. Furthermore the entire geometry concep-
tion of the race models is consistently adjusted to achieve
more efficiency, because the performance and propulsi-
on are particularly affected by the centre of gravity of the
rider. The height of the bottom bracket and the swingarm
length in combination with steering tube and seat tube an-
gles lead to an optimal wheel load distribution between the
front and the rear wheel. The central seating position over
the crank converts the force without loss. The minimizati-
on of the dynamic wheel load changes („Bobbing effect “=
bouncing during pedalling) provide a better climbing abi-
lity in steep climbs and thus simply provides more accele-
ration. The downhill characteristics of the ROTWILD race
bikes are adapted to the modern, fast world cup and ma-
rathon race tracks. Therefore the ROTWILD engineers ad-
apted the geometry in such a way that close turns on bent
XC tracks are to be mastered just as easily as extremely
fast sections, which require the highest riding stability. The
lower position of the bottom bracket, the 110 mm suspen-
sion front fork and the balanced wheel base substantially
increase the riding safety and the efficiency.
rAce OPtiMiZed chASSiS
Active Linkage System II - chassis technology for hard ra-
cing use. As a fully active chassis the ROTWILD ALS II
increases traction, propulsion and responding behaviour
noticeably. It keeps its full function uphill, during sprints
and fast descents, with the 110 mm suspension travel
making the necessary reserves available.
By the intelligently designed rear triangle with its racing
optimised pivot points, set ups can be made in such a
way that the rear triangle can work particularly efficient.
In combination with a particularly co-ordinated rear shock
the ALS II offers a maximum in performance without any
technical special solution. In order to secure an extreme-
ly sensitive and responsive behaviour and high durability,
sealed full-ball bearings are used for the ALS II. This inno-
vative bearing technology improves the pressure distributi-
on, reduces the friction and not only improves the efficien-
cy of the chassis but also its durability.
The race genes of the R2 of models can also be found
in the details: CFK drop out module with integrated post
mount brake adapter and aluminum MDI inserts. Extre-
mely light designed for long durability and easy to replace
when worn out. Maximum tire freedom even in adverse
conditions and the possibility to use two water bottles are
particularly important for racers. The rear triangle is also
appropriate for narrow Q-factor cranks. In order to impro-
ve the riding comfort of the R2 HT the seat tube knot has
been completely redesigned: By using a redesigned layup,
an optimized fibre type selection and a 27.2 mm seat post.
ROTWILD R2 – World champion technology converted into
serial models. Bikes full of efficiency, full of performance
and genuinely ROTWILD.

ROTWILD innovations offer noticeable use to the cyclist -
best example: The sporty multi-talented C bikes. The clas-
sical interpretation of a mountain bike perfectly suited for
everyday use, having has a large spectrum of use. Sporty,
dynamic, light and fast, but equipped with more reser-
ves than a pure race bike, the C Bikes with their 120 mm
chassis (100 mm Hardtail) enable playful uphill and sove-
reign downhill riding.
crOSS cOUntry GeOMetry
A perfect geometry consists of many factors. For dynamic
riding the geometry is aligned ergonomically to propulsi-
on and provides an agile and lively handling bike, thanks
to a balanced seating position. On long climbs the C mo-
dels climb outstandingly sportive with a relaxed seating
position, in downhills ambitious riders are pleased about
the fully usable suspension travel with more reserves. The
central positioning of the rider within the bike increases
the security in steep or fast riding sections. Lowering of
the stand over height with a special semi-hydro-formed
top tube (C1) or a carbon fibre MMT module and an inte-
grated seat tube gusset (aluminium models) increases the
leg freedom and provides more confidence in technical
passages.

bon fibre main frames built using the MMT construction
methods. Reduced weight and higher rigidities give even
more precise handling characteristics. Carbon monocoque
frames use specific absorption characteristics, as a result
of this vibrations are strongly reduced. The C models ob-
tain an additional focus on touring capability using their
fully concealable seat post and the possibility to store a
water bottle.
chASSiS
The selection of the kinetic system plays a crucial role for
efficiency. For suspension travels from 120 mm (XC), 150
mm (AM) to 175 mm (Enduro), the ROTWILD engineers
developed the XMS four pivot technology, which out-plays
its functional advantages within this suspension travel ran-
ge. The activation of the linkage positions and the virtual
pivot point are within the catenary curve optimally. The
rear triangle remains almost uninfluenced of riding forces
and instead noticeably increases the traction while pedal-
ling (= positive anti-squat effect and pedal bob.)
New technology is also used within the rear shock. The
exclusive FOX rear shock with its ROTWILD specific instal-
lation dimensions reduces the inclination of the seat stays
and permits a compact arrangement of the system. The
combination of the special rear shock with the evolutionary
linkage leads to an ideal ratio for effective power transmis-
sion uphill and a sensitive responding behaviour downhill.
The rear shock position provides for a low centre of gravi-
ty, which is a further characteristic of the XMS chassis. An
adjustment due to riders of different weights, from light to
heavy, is hassle free and made possible easily.
WMS lAdy MOdelS
More comfort, optimized control and an ideal balance
for better power transmission. The special specification,
which is designed according to the needs of female riders,
makes this possible in the C1 WMS models. Thereby the
focus is on the main contact points: Narrower handle bars
support a more natural seating position, the special lady
saddle is adapted to the female anatomy and provides for
a better seating comfort. Ergonomic grips and adjustable
brake levers are adapted for female hands, shorter cranks
improve the leverage force and provide for more efficient
pedal movement.

Versatility for long routes and challenging descents, 150
mm suspension travel for a lot of control on the trails. With
a superior combination of lightweight, control, and effici-
ency. Intelligent multi-talents: The X models are ROTWILD
bikes for any kind of mountain biking terrain, and the new
benchmark for riding without limits in the All Mountain
category.
GeOMetry All MOUntAin
Also in suspension with more deflection the following ap-
plies: The geometric construction determines the focal
point and thus influences the handling and riding comfort.
Therefore the ROTWILD experts constructed the frames of
the X models for the All Mountain use clearly more com-
pact. The seating position is more upright, hence more
control is possible. The top tube is shorter and therefore
shifts the centre of gravity forward, putting more pressure
onto the front wheel. The balanced handling is supported
by the adjustability of the FOX Talas fork (starting from the
Comp specification), because it crucially influences the
geometry: Uphill with steeper steering angle for improved
climbing ability. Downhill with a flatter steering angle, a
deeper seating position within the bike and a higher cock-
pit, so that the position of the centre of gravity shifts to the
rear, improving the riding safety in challenging situations.
FrAMe cOnStrUctiOn
More stability, low weight and full route capability, that is
why our engineers integrated innovative details into the
frame concepts, when they designed the frames. Like the
optimized Channel Semi Hydroforming tubing set, the 1.5
tapered steering tube or intelligent gussets as reinforce-
ment of the steering tube: The R.X1 offers a perfect chas-
sis, its more rugged and at the same time light frame is
designed for higher loads of the All Mountain use
The new R.X2 deploys the material advantages of the
ROTWILD MMT technology with its unique carbon mono-
coque frames. Apart from the weight optimization the car-
bon fibre chassis absorbs oscillations and vibrations noti-
ceably better than aluminum. The result is a unique riding
experience with lower weight and increased performance.

ces in all riding conditions. Furthermore the rear end lin-
kage is adapted to an increased lever ratio. This prevents
the rear end from sagging – the dynamic of the rear end
does not get lost in fast turns and curves, or flowing trail
sections. To ROTWILD integrative chassis conception also
means, that the particularly coordinated FOX rear shocks
are perfectly coordinated with the frame and the kinema-
tic. Even with small impacts the sensitive responding be-
haviour is displayed, with large bumps and leaps the pro-
gressive response curve has a positive effect.
Highly efficient in climbs, plenty of reserves in the de-
scent. The submersible fork in addition to the optional,
submersible seat post supports this conceptual require-
ment at the versatility of an All Mountain chassis. Because
with this the chassis can be adapted fast and problem-
free to different riding conditions:
- Submersed fork combined with the full length of the seat
post: The climbing position with steeper steering angle
puts more pressure onto the front wheel, giving the bike a
better guidance and a more agile steering behaviour du-
ring climbs.
- The entire suspension travel of the fork together with the
submersed seat post: The steering angle becomes flatter
in the descents, the seating position within the bike beco-
mes overall lower. This results in an increase of smooth-
ness, and more control at high speed, and challenging
riding situations.
- The entire suspension travel of the fork and full length of
the seat post: The cross country or touring position. Due
to the balanced seating position dynamic, however relaxed
riding is possible.
The X models feature a mounting for ISCG compatib-
le chain devices, making it possible to use two-way chain
rings and devices. The drop outs offer the possibility to
use through bolt systems.
XMS All MOUntAin chASSiS
With the XMS system the ROTWILD chassis specialists de-
signed an outstanding chassis with 150 mm suspension
travel for the All Mountain use, which convinces with so-
vereign riding performance and high efficiency. The XMS
chassis is the result of extensive testing in the laboratory
and on the trails: Together with top athletes and technolo-
gy partners our engineers optimized the fine-tuning of the
XMS system and adapted the kinematic system with its
pivot points to the versatile concept of the bikes. The rear
end remains fully active and independent of riding influen-

Riding enduro means permanent alternation in the ter-
rain: Mastering climbs under your own steam, high speed
passages, close turns, or blocked sections alternate with
flowing banked curves and drops. The new ROTWILD E1
Enduro opens up new moments. A unique bike, for your
very personal off-road adventures. New built consistently
and equipped with technology, which sets standards.
endUrO chASSiS
Besides requiring more suspension travel the enduro use
above all requires a highly sensitively responding chassis.
The ROTWILD engineers put their largest focus onto the
rear end kinematic – to the core of the new E1 models.
Apart from a multiplicity of data analyses from our Tech
lab, above all extensive on-road tests went into the cons-
truction. Designed for 175 mm suspension travel and by
using proven ROTWILD technology the new XMS four pi-
vot enduro chassis plays out its constructional strength.
The active suspension system masters all riding conditions
in a sovereign way.
The reaction forces (= chain tension) always remain in
the range of the virtual pivot point during the compressi-
on procedure, hence riding influences are not noticeable.
Over the large range of suspension travel the rear end pos-
sesses an optimized wheel lift cam, the response curve,
which is almost linear in the beginning becomes strongly
progressive towards the end. With a low breakaway torque
and a sensitive responding behaviour the chassis offers
the best downhill performance and keeps an optimum
contact to the ground even with larger obstacles. For more
traction and at the same time high bottom out protection.
Important for Endurists: The capability of pedalling also
on long climbs is not a problem, because uphill the XMS
enduro chassis converts the pressure on the pedal effici-
ently into propulsion.

GeOMetry
Mastering challenging terrain safely requires a bike, which
acts reliably at any time. Here the geometry interpretation
determines the character of the bikes. Therefore the stee-
ring angle and the wheel base of the new E1 are designed
for smooth riding in fast descents. With the compact frame
and the low centre of gravity the rider maintains control
in a central seating position. The E1 follows any steering
command precisely.
FrAMe cOnStrUctiOn
A special Channel aluminum tubing set was developed
for the robust construction of the E1 bikes, designed in
its dimensioning and profile for higher loads. Additional
reinforcement are inserted, where real advantages result.
As for example within the front triangle of the main frame
– the used tapered steering tube permits the use of 1.5
tapered long-stroke suspension forks with up to 180 mm
suspension travel. For a stable and light frame with abso-
lute steering precision.
For noticeably more control on washed trails and in fast
curves the ROTWILD specialists dedicated themselves
intensively to the total rigidity of the bike. The Semi Hyd-
roforming top tube and the lower standover increase the
stability and the torsional stiffness of the bikes. The new
linkage offers a stable connection in the transition from
the front frame triangle to the rear triangle.
The chain stays are designed asymmetrical, they offer
more tire freedom which results in considerable traction
advantages.
Genuine enduro handling originates only from a practi-
cal selection of the components, which are actually sui-
table for the area of application. Such as the submersible
fork, which substantially alleviates climbing. Or the double
crank combined with the chain device, which effectively
prevents the chain from coming off: Particularly in blocked
terrain this is a useful feature. Or the optional telescope
seat post, which permits a fast and comfortable adjust-
ment to the respective riding conditions.
The new generation of the ROTWILD enduro bike is
thought through thoroughly. For riding beyond everyday
trails.

Jumps and drops, fast root passages and wash board sec-
tions, steep turns with high compression and challenging
speed tracks. In the gravity segment frame and chassis
have to face high loads and require a lot of travel with a
very sensitive response. All bikes of the ROTWILD Extreme
Series are based on the same XLS four-pivot suspension
system. However, since trail-pilots have different demands
than descent orientated BigBike riders, the different bikes,
their frames, and their kinematic systems are exactly ad-
justed to the required travel and the range of use.
The XLS system of the R.E.D. bikes offers outstanding
traction over a wide range of suspension without noticeab-
le influence of drive. At the beginning of the travel the rear
wheel reacts very sensitively, at the same time enough
rebound strength is available, in order to push the rear
wheel right back to the ground, even after large obstacles
(= so called footprint).
The system plays out it’s entire constructive strength on
difficult descents: On the one hand it can be ridden with
considerably more SAG (= negative travel). On the other
hand the positioning of the main bearing in front of the
bottom bracket makes an optimization of the position of
the virtual pivot point possible, also in terms of the wheel
path. The wheel path ideally follows the dive in path of the
rear triangle. This way, even large bumps get absorbed ef-
fectively. The occurring impact-energy is transformed into
suspension energy.
In order to be able to control this much suspension travel,
not only the wheel lift cam, but also the transmission ratio,
and the progression play a crucial role for the XLS chassis
technology: The goal is to achieve a linear, extremely flat
decline of the transmission ratio, which leads to a conti-
nuous increase of the rear triangle progression. This en-
sures a maximum of bottom out performance for example
when landing after jumps. At the same time the rear tri-
angle is very easy to tune and reacts to smallest changes
of the rear shock set-up.
The low center of gravity and the rugged construction of
the used linkages are suited for the hardest use. The rear
triangle is very easy to tune. Therefore the complete range
of travel can be used.

Enjoy gravity. With our clear commitment to the champi-
ons league of gravity-sports. Non compromising, for the
next level in the bike-park and the local downhill track.
In cooperation with pro riders, the ROTWILD engineers
created a rugged frame and a high class chassis, in order
to ensure absolute control when riding close to the edge.
This is what every tube of the R.E.D. DH has been espe-
cially optimized for. The tubes face the high loads with
elaborate taperings and inside gussets. A special focus
was put on the sensitively working XLS suspension system
with 220 mm of travel. Seat- and steering tube-angle,
bottom bracket height, and wheelbase can be adjusted by
the 5-step frame adjustment system. Furthermore the use
of different rear shock lengths is possible, so that the mat-
ching set-up can be found for any terrain and situation.
r.e.d. Fr
For versatile freeriding. A true fun-bike on technical trails,
and the bike for the rough rides with outstanding uphill
and downhill qualities. Bike-park riders will enjoy every
ride on the bike thanks to the high agility and the easy
handling. The compact geometry is responsible for this:
Beside the Channel FR tubing set, which has been desi-
gned particularly for freeride use, above all the kinematic
of the R.E.D. FR is perfectly balanced. Shifted horizontally
to the rear, the lower positioned bottom bracket incre-
ases control in curves and with leaps. The rear triangle
possesses a progressive responding behavior for a high
pinch protection as well as short chain stays, so that the
bike is to be controlled easily and agile. Even with high
speeds or extreme inclinations, on loose underground
or in deep riding channels: Accurate track guiding and
simple control of the bike remain. Whether high drops,
north shore elements or fast single trails, the R.E.D. FR
is designed for progressive bike-park riders and new
school pilots, who want to ride aggressively. With 200 mm
suspension travel the R.E.D. FR can take on anything,
however uphill sections can be mastered, as well.
r.e.d. trAil
The freeride-capable touring bike with 175 mm suspen-
sion travel for demanding frequent riders. Its favorite
stomping ground: Extensive single trails and challenging
descents. The rugged frame construction is very neutral
in thrust for maximum traction. In order for the R.E.D.
TR to live up to its name, double or triple cranks can be
used. The rear triangle offers enough tire clearance for
fat tires, while being very stiff. Thanks to its weight and its
chassis it is perfectly suited for long climbs, as well – with
the help of the immersible seat post it can be pedaled
even better. He who likes to ride tours and still wants
to enjoy adrenalin rushing downhill rides, will experi-
ence maximum riding pleasure with the R.E.D. TRAIL.

The ROTWILD S2 road bikes were developed for riders,
who want to use genuine racing technology on the road.
With unique technology, which convinces when riding on
the edge, and offers an outstanding performance for the
movement at the limit. ROTWILD road bikes don’t make
any compromise, in order to make highest achievements
possible. Light and rigid for maximum propulsion: The
application of high-quality materials and manufacturing
methods worked successfully for racing use. With an
incomparable riding feeling, which offers plenty of riding
safety, and stability on each kilometre. Because the
combination of a particularly co-ordinated geometry with
the high dynamics of the chassis make precise handling
possible in each riding situation, without neglecting the
comfort.
cArBOn chAnnel tUBe ShAPe
In the centre of the development of the S2 stands the
tube to tube manufactured carbon CHANNEL tubing
frame, whose optimized tubing cross sections and lay-up
configurations follow a clear concept: Propulsion thanks to
maximum efficiency. Optimized for numerous forces and
moments affecting the frame.

MOre eFFiciency
The several times tapered tube diameters and the pre-
cisely specified tube forms meet the requirements even
in extreme riding conditions. Whether sprinting out of the
saddle or in steep climbs, the applied force is transferred
in the best possible way. That is why the ROTWILD frame
is designed for high torsional stiffness. For an optimal po-
wer transmission our engineers dedicated above all, large
attention to the construction of the bottom bracket area.
Because high rigidity is important there, in order to lose no
energy. The special construction of the double-walled bot-
tom bracket housing with its increased diameter offers the
necessary rigidity without additional weight.
MOre cOMFOrt
In order to be able to sit comfortably after many riding
hours, we put a focus on the comfort characteristics or
also absorption characteristics of the frame. The use of
carbon fibres as frame material makes various alternatives
possible, since in particular high frequency oscillations,
which arise when riding over road roughness, are clearly
better reduced (energy absorption) in the large boundary
surface between fibre and resin (matrix), than with metal-
lic materials (e.g. aluminium). Step by step each individu-
al tubing segment was accurately analyzed and defined
exactly regarding its characteristics. Only the conscien-
tious combination of tube form, tube cross section and
-design as well as the defined fibre lay-up make a const-
ruction possible, which connects high rigidities with good
absorption characteristics.
Weight reduction may be used only wisely also with road
bikes. Therefore the S2 construction is appropriate for du-
rability, stability and road capability despite our striving for
lightweight construction. This is why we use aluminum in-
serts at the neuralgic points such as steering tube, bottom
bracket an drop outs.
rAce GeOMetry
Fascination and riding safety follow our idea that unique
dynamics can be obtained when riding a road bike only
by the interaction of material and adapted geometry. The
sporty seating position of the S2 models is appropria-
te for efficient propulsion and directional stability, at the
same time the agile frame can easily be steered around
tight curves on fast descents and tight sections. The direct
steering enables precise handling.

The ROTWILD T1 bikes stand for a simple concept:
Fascination.
The T1 models: A new generation of sportive ROTWILD
bikes with multi-sport genes. They follow the typical
ROTWILD development approach, which perfectly unites
innovation, efficiency and functionality. Riding fast and
safely in any terrain. For people, who appreciate sportive
riding comfort and enjoy touring. The T1 models are
genuine all round talents, because they are suitable for
extended touring just as for everyday use: From the trip to
the office, over the short distance through the city up to
the after-work-tour with friends.
t1 innOVAtiOn
The new T1 bikes are based upon the ROTWILD high
end tubing technology, which originates directly from
the mountain bike development department. The load-
capable optimized aluminium Channel-Tubing gives the
frame its particular stability. Due to the low weight, the T1
models are very easy to accelerate, at the same time the
frame is very robust, and particularly durable. The high
frame rigidity guarantees optimal riding safety, because
when riding with luggage, the bike must remain controlla-
ble at any time even in fast descents and tight turns.
t1 eFFiciency
For genuine touring characteristics an efficient geometry
is crucial, because this directly affects the well-being
character on longer rides. Sovereign control of the bike
in different riding conditions is an important criterion in
the development of all our ROTWILD bikes. The balanced
seat- and steering-tube angles and the deep centre of
gravity of the T1 models provide for optimum agility. The
seating position is sportily comfortable. The chain stays
are a little longer compared to the chain stays of a moun-
tain bike and allows to use 29" wheel sets. Therefore the
wheel base increases, resulting in an increase of riding
smoothness and directional stability, which leads to a
stable straight-running.
The T1 moDeLs aRe genuIne aLL RounD TaLenTs, because They aRe suITabLe foR exTenDeD Tou-RIng jusT as foR eveRyDay use.
TouR
t1 FUnctiOnAlity
Sovereign control requires brakes, which brake strongly
at any time, and reliably function on wet roads and with
luggage. Therefore maintenance-free, hydraulic disc brake
systems are used. The disc brake mount lies within the
rear triangle stays within the frame, thus the assembly
mounts for travel accessories (e.g. fender, rack, side
kickstand) remain freely accessible. All these details make
the ROTWILD T models the ideal travel partner.
Sporty ness paired with genuine touring characteristics
distinguish all T1 models. Depending upon employment
emphasis however, they have their completely own
character.
t1 tOUr
The multi-touring-bike for everyday use, also as reliable
travel companion over long distances. A bike for highest
demands – day after day. Light, agile, fast, and amazingly
comfortable.
t1 GeArhUB
The comfort-touring-bike for sporty fast riding. The reliable
11-gear transmission hub has a large expansion. Further-
more it is very low in maintenance, comfortably to use and
makes shifting a real pleasure – even stationary. The light
T1 GH possesses the typical T1 details. The comfort fork
with 63 mm suspension travel increases the comfortable
handling.
t1 29
The sport-touring-bike for more challenging terrain. It
unites most modern 29“ mountain bike technology in a
unique touring concept. Starting with the 30-gear MTB
drive train and its large transmission ratio, genuine MTB
suspension technology with 80 mm suspension travel, off-
road suitable 29" wheels with matching tires and hydraulic
disc brakes.
t1 29 crOSS
The long-distance race-bike for even more speed. With
pure conversion of strength to speed. Consistently light
built and equipped, with precise handling and an efficient
power transmission, which tempts to simply ride fast. Also
here the high end MTB riding technology provides for
dynamics, such as the high-quality wheel system with 29“
tires and the rigid full carbon fork.

rOtWild t1 hyBrid cOncePt POWered By BOSch
The ROTWILD T1 hybrid bikes are our new approach to
the mobility technology. Based on our T1 models we crea-
ted two new ROTWILD pedelecs with the latest generation
of a high tech drive. The T1 hybrid opens up new dimen-
sions as an E-Bike and is not only bicycle but also means
of transport at the same time. Whether on relaxed routes,
for fitness use, or on the daily way to work, with the T1 Hy-
brid you are riding in a sportive manner almost anywhere
on- and off-road.
In co-operation with the manufacturer BOSCH ROTWILD
developed an innovative E-Bike concept, which opens up
completely new possibilities, promoting the rider faster
and with less effort.
hMi – hUMAn interFAce.
The controlling of the BOSCH drive unit is done by the
control unit fastened directly in grasp width (HMI - human
interfaces). Here the most important information can be
read, such as the current speed, average speed, ridden
distance, charge of the battery, and the adjusted engi-
ne support mode (assistance mode). Four different sup-
port modes can be used for riding – route, eco, sport and
speed. The strength of the engine assistance (level) within
the four modes can be adapted in three stages, in order
to adapt the drive to the riding conditions. In addition, it is
possible to operate the entire unit in the OFF mode (wit-
hout engine support - fail-safe).
driVe Unit – With trAnSMiSSiOn And ecU
The HMI is connected to the so called Drive Unit by a mo-
dern CAN-Bus system. The unit consists of a completely
new developed, highly efficient 250 W engine with gear-
box, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The light and
torque-strong high performance engine maximises the
range and offers a high torque and a reliable support over
the entire speed range up to 25 km/h. The ECU receives
information from three different sensors (torque crank,
cadence, and speed), which are integrated in the overall
system of the drive unit and which at any time (analysis
takes place 200 times per second) can illustrate actual ri-
ding condition.
baseD on ouR T1 moDeLs We cReaTeD TWo neW RoTWILD peDe-Lecs WITh The LaTesT geneRaTIon of a hIgh Tech DRIve. The T1 hybRID opens up neW DImensIons as an e-bIke anD Is noT onLy bIcycLe buT aLso means of TRanspoRT aT The same TIme.
BAtterie
The power supply of the entire drive unit is made by a
completely new developed 36V/8 Ah battery power pack
with a total output of 288 Wh. With the help of the integra-
ted battery management system (BMS) each particular out
of the 40, 18-650 type cells, based on lithium ions tech-
nology, is constantly supervised during the use and the
loading procedure and therefore guarantees an optimal life
span of the cells. The loading cycle is made by a separate
high speed battery charger with which the battery can be
charged up to 80 % within 90 minutes - after 2,5 hours
the complete loading procedure is completed to 100%.
FAil SAFe – cAn BUS SySteM
For the first time most modern control electronics from
the automotive industry is being used for the drive unit of
a pedelec system. Via the CAN-Bus system all building
groups within the drive system communicate with one
another (HMI, sensors, battery and drive unit) and super-
vise the operation of the drive unit during the use. At the
same time this system offers the possibility of an exact er-
ror analysis. Over the HMI error codes can be made visible
visually and/or be uploaded onto a notebook via interface.
t1 hyBrid
For fast and at the same time relaxed bike journeys, just
as for pleasure-oriented riding or for the daily way to work,
which in the future you would rather like to cover by bike.
The T1 hybrid unites the intelligent performance of the
new propulsion principle with high functionality for long di-
stances, and is the perfect partner in the city, if you once
more face stop-and-go traffic. And with its drive support it
noticeably eases riding uphill and against head wind.
t1 hyBrid 29
To the T1 hybrid 29 the road is only one possibility: Whe-
ther on forest tracks, gravel roads, or some root section.
The T1 hybrid 29 offers a high off-road capability and en-
sures, as true sports equipment with low weight, a new ex-
perience also off-road. With sovereign acceleration even in
steeper uphills. For the T1 hybrid genuine mountain bike
technology is used, which secures optimal functionality
also off-road. The FOX suspension fork 29” with 80 mm of
suspension travel provides a lot of traction, the disc bra-
kes provide reliable brake control at any time. As for all T1
models lighting systems, mud guards, a rack and a side
stand can be installed to the particular mountings.

83German Cycling Device
The ROTWILD Cycling Line relies on the most modern materials and
cuts, which are consistently aimed at the needs of many cyclists. In
this respect we are also really demanding: High breathability for a good
body temperature in hot conditions is as important as uncompromising
freedom of movement for the greatest wearing comfort. Wind and wea-
ther protection is essential, without being an obstruction while biking.
We like to integrate excellent finishing quality into unique design.
The final result of ROTWILD clothing must above all be one thing:
Functional, leading to many kilometres of fatigue-free biking.

Function’n Style. One thing is certain you are unique. Your desires,
your preferences and your style. To you freeride means fascination,
inspiration and unforgettable moments on the trail. To live, express your
personality to the fullest. These ideas and our experience of many years
on trails and race tracks are reflected in the combination of robust
materials and casual cuts. Style does not contradict top functionality.
