Summary:
Annual membership is $1020/year/family or $744/year/individuals over 18.A discount on membership is offered to businesses and organizations with at least 5 members joining the JCC.
This JCC does not receive any government funding.
They give away over $250K in scholarships for tuition assistance, membership fees and summer camp fees.
The entire staff had a 5% paycut 2 years ago – none of the staff resigned. They also had reduced medical coverage.
They are open on Saturdays (according to JCCA, 56% of all JCCs are open on Saturdays, with limited programming.)
The remaining 10% of income comes from all other programming.
There are 25 Board Members, which oversee both Orlando JCC’s. Each member pledges to “give or get” at least $1000 annually. They meet 10 times per year (not in the summer) There is a 2 year term for Board members, and a 2 year term for elected Officers. The amount of Board training utilized is “not enough”.
This JCC utilizes the 3 main income markers: Fitness Center, Early Childhood and Summer Camp. This brings in approx. 90% of its income.
This JCC “outsources” maintenance crews and bus drivers. This saves on medical insurance and increases reliability of services.
