FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Rotary’s 4-Way Test

Page 12: Rotary 101

opportunity for service SECOND – High ethical standards in business and

THIRD – The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life

Rotary’s Areas of Service/Focus

What is RC of Anguilla doing – in each of these areas?

Page 22: Rotary 101

Before we can increase the membership, we

must learn how to

Maintain the members we currently have. Are we doing that?

Keep our members active and contributing. Are we doing that?

Become an effective Rotary Club that people will actually be proud to be part of… Are we doing that?

Maybe you’ve seen a need in your own community

and wondered how you could help. Maybe you want to use your professional skills to

help others. Maybe you want to learn new skills. Maybe you’re seeking connections with other

service-minded professionals in your community or abroad.

Why did you join Rotary?

Page 24: Rotary 101

Are those goals being fulfilled? What else can you do?

Consider Rotary’s Areas of Focus Are you accomplishing what you had hoped to

accomplish through Rotary?

Why did you join Rotary?

Page 25: Rotary 101

Joining Rotary can help you achieve these goals.

Joining Rotary can help you serve your community.

Joining Rotary can help you achieve so much more.

The following are real Rotarians and what they gain through Rotary:

As a Rotarian -

Page 26: Rotary 101

Rotary creates the perfect venue for me to

give back to the community I live in while enjoying the camaraderie of positive and active individuals.”

— Tom Brand, Rotary Club of Kenosha West, Wisconsin, USA

Community Service

Page 27: Rotary 101

“Rotary is a tremendous network. Leaders in

the community can connect and reach out to people in need.”

— Russel Honoré, Rotary Club of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA

Networking

Page 28: Rotary 101

“A week doesn't go by that I don't learn

something new from the speaker at our club or just from working on projects with people. It's an opportunity to grow indefinitely.”

— Stephen Brown, Rotary Club of La Jolla Golden Triangle, California, USA

Leadership Skills

Page 29: Rotary 101

“I've become much more internationally

focused, and understand that there's so much more I can do as part of a bigger whole than I could ever do on my own.”

— Toni McAndrew, Rotary Club of Mid-Valley (Dickson City), Pennsylvania, USA

International Service

Page 30: Rotary 101

“Every Rotary club in the world, no matter

how big or small, has one thing in common: friendship. And it's from this base of friendship that we serve our community.”

— Kemal Attilâ, Rotary Club of Ankara-Tandogan, Turkey

Friendship

Page 31: Rotary 101

We want families with children to join Rotary,

so we try to be very flexible. Family commitments always take precedence.”

— Wendy Scammell, Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest, Newfoundland, Canada

Family-friendly

Page 32: Rotary 101

For me, Rotary is a way of life – one that my

husband and I have lived our whole lives.”

— Julia Gereda de Carlin, Rotary Club of Monterrico-Surco, Peru

Family-friendly

Page 33: Rotary 101

“A great tool Rotary has is its educational

programs. I was an exchange student (Rotary Youth Exchange) in Switzerland in high school. That’s how I got involved and what made me want to give back.”

— Jorge Aguilar, Rotaract Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA

Opportunities for Young People

Page 34: Rotary 101

Long-time Rotarians agree that the involvement is key

to getting the most out of Rotary.

Rotarians must volunteer in these ways: to serve on a committee that serves your interests to be a greeter at regular club meetings to join a service project team to help develop and carry through an excellent

community project

You’ll get to know your fellow Rotarians. You’ll get to understand Rotary more clearly.

Involvement is the Key

Page 35: Rotary 101

What are the obligations of a Rotarian?

 (1) One of the obligations and responsibilities of Rotary club members is the prompt payment of club dues.

(2) Another important obligation and responsibility is regular attendance.

Obligations of Rotarians

Page 36: Rotary 101

All Rotarians…

It will be my duty to Exemplify the Object of Rotary in all my daily

contacts and activities Abide by the constitutional documents of

Rotary International and of the club.I agree To pay any admission fees required by the

club and To pay annual dues in accordance with the

club bylaws.

Page 37: Rotary 101

According to the Rotary Manual of Procedure, Rotary

dues must be paid within 30 days from the due date (either July 1 or January 1 - or both).

Rotary dues are necessary to allow the clubs to function effectively.

Members and even clubs that are delinquent can have their membership terminated.

Rotary has specific financial obligations that must be met by all Rotarians.

Rotary dues

Page 38: Rotary 101

First of all, Rotary is so much more fun when

you attend!

We miss you when you do not attend!

The only way to stay involved is to attend.

But otherwise…

Regular attendance

Page 39: Rotary 101

Only when you attend and participate

Can you keep up to date with what the club is doing

Can you offer your services to the club and to the community

Will you feel part of Rotary Can you bring a friend along Can you share in Rotary’s good name and

good works

Regular Attendance

Do you pay your dues on time? What service projects are you involved in? Are you a Good Rotarian? If not, then how do you change? Is our club an effective Rotary club? If not, then what can

we do? How can we increase Rotary awareness?
