4 5 LIFESKILLS GAME “Toilet Paper Challenge” Just a fun way to transition out of this week’s LifeSkill. What do we need? - Roll of toilet paper (4 rolls per experience) - Broom handle (2 per campus) How do we play? 1. Have a guy and a girl come up to the front to participate against each other. You will also need 2 students on each broom handle end to hold it up during the competition. 2. Each competitor will have 2 rolls of toilet paper placed on their broom handle. 3. Toilet paper rolls should be placed on the broom handle with the paper over the top towards the player. 4. Before the game starts, players should have their left hand on the broom handle and right hand on the right roll of toilet paper. 5. When the facilitator yells “go,” the student will begin to unwind the right roll with right hand only. 6. Once that roll is out they will unroll the remaining roll with only their left hand. 7. Have boys cheer for the boy up front and girls for the girl up front. 8. Whoever finishes first wins. ROOTS CLOSE This is how crazy the Bible is: 66 different books 40 different authors 3 different languages 13 different countries 3 different continents All over 1,500 years And it all came together, fit perfectly, and told one seamless story about God! That. Is. Crazy! That is God! That just goes to show that the Bible isn’t just like any other book. It is God’s Word. It shows us who God is and how He relates to us. Read to students: 2 TIMOTHY 3:16. When it says that scripture is inspired by God, it means that God gave all the writers the inspiration to write what they did. Even though they wrote at different times and in different countries, it all came together to create one whole picture of who God is. So know this, the Bible is very real and completely accurate. We need to read it because it will show us what is right and wrong in our lives and teach us very important things. When we live the way the Bible shows us, we will see some awesome things come from it. (Pray for the students.) After talking about the Bible today, it’s a good time to start and/or continue with Bible memory verses. Try starting to read one chapter from the book of Proverbs per day. How many of you like creating things? Come ready to do that next week! You’ll see what I’m talking about. ROOTS CLOSE This is how crazy the Bible is:

66 different books 40 different authors 3 different languages 13 different countries 3 different continents All over 1,500 years

And it all came together, fit perfectly, and told one seamless story about God! That. Is. Crazy! That is God! That just goes to show that the Bible isn’t just like any other book. It is God’s Word. It shows us who God is and how He relates to us. Read to students: 2 TIMOTHY 3:16. 3 1 2 HANGOUT VIDEO: ROOTS SEGMENT 1 WORSHIP VIDEO: ROOTS SEGMENT 2 GAME TIME “Puzzle Piece Scavenger Hunt” The Bible came from various people, at various times, in various places to come together to show a picture of God throughout humanity. The Bible came together perfectly to create the picture.

What do we need? - Small puzzle with large pieces--like a kid’s puzzle (1 per Talk It Over group)

How do we play? 1. Students will participate in this game with their Talk It Over groups. 2. Give each group the first piece to their puzzle. Be sure not give them the box

top with the picture on it as a reference. 3. Hide the remaining puzzle pieces from each puzzle all around the room and

outside the room. 4. Each group must locate the other pieces and put their puzzle together. 5. The first team to put together their puzzle in their group wins.

*Leader Note: We may not have enough different puzzles for every single group. Tell your team the number of pieces they’re looking for. If you have a duplicate puzzle in your room, be sure you don’t hide pieces from the same puzzles near one another. Tell your group that their pieces are only hidden on the LEFT side of the room, maybe. Have the duplicate group’s puzzle only hidden on the RIGHT side. If a group is having trouble locating the rest of their puzzle, give them the box top to use as a reference.

TALK IT OVER SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS 1. What was the best thing that happened this week?

2. What do you think the game we just played had to do with the Bible? (Bible

was written over thousands of years by different people, in different places, and came together to make a picture of who God is throughout humanity.)

3. How often do you read your Bible? Be honest! Why is that? 4. Do you believe the Bible is entirely true? Why or why not? 5. What do you think the purpose of the Bible is? 6. Look up and read 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 together, either using your Bible or Bible

App. 7. What do you think it means, when it says: All scripture is inspired by God…? 8. What does this passage say that the Bible is useful for? 9. How would those things (the answers to #8) apply to your life? (What can the

Bible teach you? How can it show you what is right and wrong, and how to live right?)

10. What steps can you take this week to read the Bible more?

LIFESKILLS CLOSE How many of you are excited to go clean the bathroom at home? No one? I know, cleaning the bathroom is not too fun and no one really likes to do it. But cleaning a bathroom is about more than just making sure it’s clean. What do you think your parents would say if you just cleaned the bathroom without them asking? (Let a few students answer) They would definitely be surprised. Some would even think an alien abducted you and replaced you with someone else. Cleaning the bathroom represents you caring about where you live and letting your parents know that you are helping out around the house and participating in your family. So, try it out this week. Without your parents asking, just go clean one of the bathrooms. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get a little more freedom for doing it.
