RoomSecret’s Photoshoot Guidelines At RoomSecret, we aim to maintain a level of consistency in the quality and aesthetic of our photos. Therefore, we have provided guidelines on how to ensure that you achieve these standards when you shoot your space. First and foremost, we try to uphold a bright and airy aesthetic in all of our photos. This is critical to keep a consistent look across RoomSecret’s website. For every type of room, we require three types of shots: 1. An overall room shot - This shot must capture as much as the room as possible. We typically take these shots straight on. The purpose of this shot is to show customers what the room looks like as a whole; therefore, it doesn’t need to be the most beautiful or flattering shot of the room.

RoomSecret’s Photoshoot Guidelines

At RoomSecret, we aim to maintain a level of consistency in the quality and aesthetic of our photos. Therefore, we have provided guidelines on how to ensure that you achieve these standards when you shoot your space.  First and foremost, we try to uphold a bright and airy aesthetic in all of our photos. This is critical to keep a consistent look across RoomSecret’s website.  For every type of room, we require three types of shots:

1. An overall room shot - This shot must capture as much as the room as possible. We typically take these shots straight on. The purpose of this shot is to show customers what the room looks like as a whole; therefore, it doesn’t need to be the most beautiful or flattering shot of the room.

2. Product shots - In order to sell all of the pieces of a room, we require a product shot for every item in the room. This includes all of the furniture, art, rugs, and accessories that you would like to sell. The product should be the focus of the shot, but doesn’t need to stand alone. We prefer to keep the context of the room in each shot. For example, we don’t take shots of products alone in front of a white wall.

3. Detail shots - Detail shots serve to convey the ambience of a room. With detail shots, you have much more creative freedom to capture the essence of the room you are selling.
