Description
The Room Relative Humidity and Relative Humidity & Temperature Sensors monitor and transmit standard signals for humidity and temperature that can be used with a variety of building control systems including the APOGEE™ Automation System. These units are especially suited for commercial HVAC control applications. Three models are available – plain humidity sensing only, plain humidity and temperature sensing only, and humidity and temperature sensing in a full-featured version. All three models are available in either 5% accuracy, 2% accuracy, or 2% accuracy NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) certified versions.
Both the standard 5% accuracy and 2% accuracy versions are calibrated using a NIST traceable calibration standard. The 2% accuracy NIST certified versions are also calibrated using a NIST traceable standard, however, an additional three-point humidity calibration check and one-point temperature calibration check is performed and documented on a calibration certificate included with the sensor.
All units incorporate a bulk resistive polymer humidity-sensing element. The combination humidity and temperature units incorporate a 1K Ohm Platinum RTD temperature-sensing element.
All units have a RJ-11 jack located on the bottom of the sensor where the EasyCal Plus Humidity Calibrator can be connected to check the operation of the humidity sensor and perform a one-point offset adjustment if necessary.
Full-Featured Model
The full-featured model offers a wide range of features and functionality that can be used with a variety of building control systems including the APOGEE Automation System. These features include:
• Liquid Crystal Display (LCD): A two-line alphanumeric LCD allows simultaneous display of room temperature and relative humidity in degrees F or C. Relative humidity can also be displayed alone.
• Digital temperature set point adjustment: The sensor’s keypad allows error-free digital temperature set point adjustments in one-degree increments. Set point values momentarily display as changes are made.
• Override button: The flush mounted override button allows an occupant to change to an occupied control schedule during the unoccupied cycle for a predetermined time period.
• Display of operating mode: Graphic symbols are displayed in the LCD to indicate the controller’s operating mode. A “sun” indicates occupied mode operation and a “moon” indicates night mode operation.
