purchaser of Monier concrete

tiles, it is important that you

understand their designed

performance.

Weather Proofi ngConcrete tiles are created from the

controlled formulation of raw materials

under high pressure to achieve the

tile’s strength and resistance to water

penetration. They remain weather-tight

over time and do not become porous or

brittle.The colour applied to or incorporated

into the body is purely decorative. Each

tile’s colour may vary in shades throughout

the roof. All tiles will contain small

blemishes. During transportation and

installation other small blemishes such

as scuffi ng and chip marks may occur.

Small blemishes will not detract from the

weather proofi ng and should not be viewed

as a product fault.

Effl orescenceConcrete tiles, like any concrete product,

may experience salts migrating to the

surface when fi rst exposed to the elements.

This is known as effl orescence. General

Effl orescence Preventative (GEP) is applied

as a sacrifi cial coating to roof tiles to

prevent this occurring. The GEP coating

can give the appearance of a variation in

the colour of the tiles, but this effect will

dissipate as the gloss coat weathers leaving

a matt fi nish and a uniform colour. Monier

does not guarantee tile colour.

may differ to varying degrees. We urge all

customers to view tiles on display before

making a decision.
