Zinc can be installed using traditionaltechniques such as double lock stand-ing seams. This popular style offersdurability and economy and is welladapted to contemporary architecture.This technique offers designers possi-bilities for creating a whole myriad ofexciting roof forms.

Due to use of profiling and seamingmachines for closing the longitudinaljoints, the installation time is greatlyreduced.

UBP Double Lock Standing Seamutilizes profiled strips that are generallyattached using anchoring fixing clips atthe ridge and sliding clips along thelength. These clips are enclosed withinthe crimped standing seam fold whenthe standing seam is executed. The system allows the roof to expand andcontract freely under thermal movement.

Increased wind uplift resistance inexposed areas with heavy snow or rainis possible by modifying the number offixing clips required according to theprevailing climatic conditions. UBPDouble Lock Standing Seam Panelshave UL-1897 rating.

The low height of the seams contributesto the lightness and regularity of theroofing in its architectural function, particularly when used on more complexshapes, giving them a distinctive “high-tech” appearance.

membrane over 3/4 "plywood. This is a very good and well performing roofcomplex. However there are situationsthat call for special solutions, andUmicore has got them for you.

RecommendedAssembliesADEKA is a pre-formed VM ZINC® shingle

product that allows rapid installation.The tiles are installed with a 2” overlap.A polystyrene bonded to the undersideprovides increased sound insulation fromrain and hail and also makes it possibleto walk on the roof. ADEKA is a completesystem including pre-formed flashingsand supplied screws.

ADEKA elements are installed quickly andeasily starting from the bottom andworking up, using three screws in pre-drilled rimmed holes. The bottom row isheld in place with a locking key fittedunder adjacent ADEKA elements.

With ADEKA architects and designerscan create a striking tiled effect utilizingthe natural gray color of zinc withouthaving to resort to artificially coloredmetals. It is available in both surfaceaspects (QUARTZ-ZINC® - rich warm gray,or ANTHRA-ZINC® a slate black). ADEKA has a UL-1897 rating.

DEXTER is a patented, pre-formed VMZINC® roofing system for use on roofswith slopes of 2:12 (17%) or more (2 1/2:12 (21%) in areas exposed toheavy snow falls).

An innovative roofing concept, the VM DEXTER ZINC elements allow rapidinstallation without the use of heavymechanized tools. This significantlyreduces the installation time on thestandard part of the roof.

VM DEXTER ZINC can be used in newbuildings and renovations for buildingswith low to moderate humidity levels.It can be laid either with aligned jointsor staggered joints.

VM DEXTER ZINC includes an extensiverange of accessories.

Only three VM DEXTER ZINC panels areneeded to cover 10.75 ft2 (1 m2). Similar to roofing tiles, the VM DEXTERZINC panels must be installed from rightto left. The VM DEXTER ZINC element isfixed onto the support at the top using a sheet clip. Along the side, clips areinstalled on the oblique fold using twoside clips. The elements are assembledlongitudinally by simply locking the sides of the elements into one another.Transversally, the elements are assem-bled using double-welt joints.

VM DEXTER ZINC gives you the aestheticsof zinc roofing with parallel strips similarto traditional techniques but with muchlower installation costs. VM DEXTER ZINChas a UL-1897 rating.

Structural RoofIf you need to achieve a high R-valuewhile at the same time remaining a"low profile", we have designed theright product for you; it is suitable for building with medium to highhygrometry and with lying snow for less than three weeks at a time.
