Headquartered in Seattle, the non-profit medical network Swedish Medical Center oversees the

health care of numerous individuals. As part of its charitable mission, Swedish Medical Center created

the Community Specialty Clinic to aid low-income and uninsured persons who require specialized

treatment. Founded in 2010, this facility emerged from the combination of Glaser Surgical Clinic and

Mother Joseph Clinic, both of which provided medical care to uninsured and underinsured

persons. The Community Specialty Clinic partners with King County Project Access, another non-profit

organization dedicated to connecting low-income persons with medical specialists.

Through this entity, patients receive multiple benefits. Electronic health records maintained

by Community Specialty Clinic allow individuals to keep all of their medical

information in a centralized location, which better enables quality care in the future.

Patients can also make appointments with physicians at this location, and receive check-

ups and other diagnostic procedures.
