About the area

Located on the edge of the South Downs, Pulborough is situated in one of the most picturesque areas of England – and is also just a 30-minute drive from the south coast.

For your everyday needs, the area has a wide range of amenities including a Tesco Metro, Sainsbury’s, a pharmacy and a medical centre, while nearby Horsham is home to a wider range of high street names and independent shops. The area has a number of primary and secondary schools rated highly by Ofsted, including St James Church of England Primary, Fittleworth Village School, Storrington Primary School and Midhurst Rother College.

When you need to unwind or take time out, the area around Pulborough offers a range of options. Shared Ownership

Shared Ownership is an excellent way for individuals and families to take their first step onto the property ladder. Buyers purchase a share of between 25% and 75% of the property’s value, and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share.

What is Shared Ownership?

To be eligible for a Shared Ownership home at Roman Fields:

• You must be at least 18 years old.

• You must be unable to buy a home suitable for your needs on the open market.

• You will need sufficient savings for a mortgage deposit and a clean credit history to qualify for a mortgage.

• Your annual household income must be less than £80,000.

• You must be a first-time buyer or existing shared owner. If you already own a home, and need to move but cannot afford to, then please discuss your situation with us. There are some circumstances under which you may be eligible.

• You must be registered with Help to Buy.

• A local connection to the Parish Council is required. “Local connection” is defined by the Council as any of the following:

- Lived in the Parish for a minimum of two years.- Worked in the Parish for a minimum of two years.- Close family connection to someone who has lived in the parish for a minimum of two years.

• Priority will be given to serving military personnel (no local connection required).

In line with government priorities, priority for Shared Ownership homes is awarded to serving military personnel and former members of the British Armed Forces honourably discharged in the last two years. People who live or work in the local area also receive priority. We welcome applications from everyone and will try and help if we can.
