WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Today we observe the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, also

known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to

publically fulfill the Lord's instruction to "Pray the Lord of the

harvest to send laborers into His harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).

Please pray that young men and women hear and respond

generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious

life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes. You can find

many resources to promote a culture of vocations on the USCCB

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Grade Three of the Religious Education Program (First Holy

Communion Class) will meet on Saturday, April 28th

szczęście, pokój, czuję się bezpiecznie. Głos, któremu można

zaufać, rodzi się z miłości. Odkryć powołanie to usłyszeć taki

głos. „Bądź przy mnie”– mówią kochający się ludzie. „Pójdź

za mną” – mówi Jezus, zapraszając do stania się Jego

uczniem.

Panie Jezu, wśród wielu różnych dźwięków i słów, które

codziennie mnie otaczają, daj mi usłyszeć Twój głos. Ty jesteś

moim Pasterzem. Znasz mnie i wiesz, że wciąż kocham Cię za

mało.

GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY

Good Shepherd Sunday occurs on the fourth Sunday in

the Easter Season. The name derives from the gospel reading

for the day, which is taken from the tenth chapter of John's

Gospel. In this reading Christ is described as the "Good

Shepherd" who lays down his life for his sheep. This is also

Vocations Sunday. Please pray for vocations to the priesthood

and religious life. .

ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL 2018

The 2018 Archbishop's Annual Appeal is well underway

in our parish. Your support of this year's Appeal ensures that

essential charitable, educational, and pastoral ministries of the

Archdiocese of Hartford are carried forward. We hope you

can help meet our parish goal of $30,000. If you would like to

make a gift, kindly mail in your pledge card. You may also

visit the Archdiocesan website at archdioceseofhartford.org or

call the Appeal Office at (800) 781-2550. Keep in mind that

an early pledge will allow the donor to best use the monthly

payment plan.

WORLD YOUTH DAY

World Youth Day is a worldwide encounter with Pope Francis

celebrated every three years in a different country. The next

World Youth Day will be January 21 thru 28, 2019 in Panama.

It is open to all young people ages 21-35.

The Archdiocese of Hartford is sponsoring a pilgrimage to

this event. The pilgrimage includes roundtrip airfare from

Bradley Airport, ground transportation in Panama, 4-star

hotel accommodations, WYD package, all meals and tour

guide. The total cost is $2,500.00. The Archdiocesan

CONTEST FOR YOUTH

The Vincentian Order (the priests at St. Stanislaus are

Vincentians) is championing the 21st-century

storytellers and challenge audiences with films that

change our perspective on poverty in our communities.

We spark our imaginations by sharing our charism

through a creativity that is inspired by the Vincentian

mission to globalize charity. Our first competition is

called seeds of hope for ages 18 and under only. Youth

are invited to utilize any creative expression (story,

poem, image, sculpture, music, etc.) that inspires direct

service to the poor. Please upload the video, image or

document that best showcases your artwork by 5/28/18.

2nd Competition, Screenwriting Contest: Finding Vince

400, Storyteller, a Screenwriting Competition: FIVE

Screenwriters will be awarded a trip to Rome and a grant to

produce their screenplay for a short film. These short films

will premiere at Castel Gandolfo, Italy, from October 18-21,

2018. Due by 5/28/18, submit at fv400.org

3rd Competition, Short or Feature Films: You are invited to

submit your short or feature film to Finding Vince 400. The

jury will select films that inspire a direct service to the poor

and change our perspective on poverty. These films will

premiere at Castel Gandolfo, Italy, from October 18-21, 2018.

Jury-selected artists will be invited and awarded a trip to this

and Support: Attend the festival and experience the collection

of art inspired by the charism of St. Vincent de Paul. Castel

our communities.

Inspired by the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Vincent de
