The Way of the Heart We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be
touched by the Heart of Jesus.
Pope Francis’ Prayer Intention for June
Dear Friends and Neighbors, Thank you all so much for your support of Outreach, especially over the past few months. Your kindness and generosity was God’s light shining during some very dark days. So many acts of concern and empathy for our neighbors in need come to mind- parishioners who gave food and financial donations because they said they have so much to be grateful for and were concerned about those not faring as well, folks who worried about families with children and purchased clothing and food especially for them, a Boy Scout Troop that ran a food drive when donations were especially needed, our volunteers who continued to make Sunshine calls to home-bound seniors and our parishioners who are essential workers who would drop off food after working a shift are a few acts of love that come to mind when thinking about the good parishioners of Sacred Heart. My heart also hurts for those who lost loved ones over the last few months. These unprecedented times affected even the ability to lay to rest and mourn a loved one in the way most of us would expect. Your faith community mourns with you. I have been in touch with the Life Center. They have asked that you keep the Baby Bottles for just a bit longer. They expect to be fully operational by Phase Three which hopefully will be in the nest few weeks. I will keep all update through the bulletin when the time comes. God bless you all! Hugs, Tanya

An Act of
Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were
already there and unite myself wholly to
You. Never permit me to be
separated from You. Amen.

Pope Francis’ reflection on the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Dear brothers and sisters!
The month of June is traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the highest
human expression of divine love. Just this past Friday, in fact, we celebrated the Solemnity
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: the feast that sets the tone for the whole month. Popular
piety highly prizes symbols, and the Heart of Jesus is the ultimate symbol of God's
mercy – but it is not an imaginary symbol, it is a real symbol, which represents the center,
the source from which salvation for all humanity gushed forth.
In the Gospels we find several references to the Heart of Jesus, for example, in the passage
where Christ says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
(Mt 11:28-29)” Then there is the key story of the death of Christ according to John. This
evangelist in fact testifies to what he saw on Calvary: that a soldier, when Jesus was al-
ready dead, pierced his side with a spear, and from the wound flowed blood and water (cf.
Jn 19.33-34). John recognized in that – apparently random – sign, the fulfillment of
prophecies: from the heart of Jesus, the Lamb slain on the cross, flow forgiveness and life
for all men.
But the mercy of Jesus is not just sentiment: indeed it is a force that gives life, that raises
man up! Let us be not afraid to approach him! He has a merciful heart! If we show our
inner wounds, our sins, He always forgives us. He is pure mercy! Let us never forget this:
He is pure mercy! Let us go to Jesus!
========================================================
We celebrate Father’s Day let us think of the strength of a father, his guiding hand, his wisdom, his help. God the Father gave up his only Son, Jesus Christ, so that we might be saved through him. He provides an example of the very vocation of father-hood. Fathers are to sacrifice their lives for their families.
They do this by: • Being the spiritual leader and guardian of their families. • Praying for and with their families. • Being a courageous witness to the Gospel. • Providing care and support for their families. • Serving as an example of goodness and truth. • Leading with courage and accountability. • Laying down one’s life for another.
Today, in a special way, let us be grateful for:
• Our fathers, by birth or adoption, who love us and support us through life.
• Our Church leaders, who take on the paternal role of guiding us through life.
• And God our Father, who will always teach justly and grant us boundless mercy.
