SPECIAL STITCHES Third Loop Only Single Crochet (TLO sc) – single crochet into the horizontal bar on the back side of a single crochet. Puff Stitch (Puff) – *Yarn over, insert hook in stitch indicated, and draw up a loop* 5X, yarn over, draw through all loops on hook. Working in BLO around: Ch 1, sc in the same stitch and across to row 67, ch 4, skip the last two rows of the back panel and the first two rows on the front panel, sc in rows 67 down to row 3 on the front panel, ch 4, skip the last two rows on the front panel and the first two rows on the back panel, sl st in the 1st sc, do not turn (130 sc, 2 ch-4) R3. Working in FLO left from working R2: rsc in each st arnd, sl st in 1st rsc; Fasten.

FRONT CENTER “TIE” Holding Two Strands Together, Ch 60; Fasten. Insert tie from inside to outside of bag, 2 sts down from the top: Bring one end out between rows 32 & 33 and the other end out between rows 38 & 39. *Cross strings over the front and insert from front to back 2 sts down, between the same rows. Bring straight down the back on the inside (instead of crossing them) and insert from inside to outside, 2 sts down, between the same rows* repeat so the tie crosses over the front 3 times, then tie the ends together on the inside of the bag. HANDLE R1. Ch 5, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (4) R2-104. Ch 1, sc across, turn; Fasten at the end of R104. (4) SIDE TAB (Make 2) R1. Ch 5, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (4) R2-10. Ch 1, sc across, turn; Fasten at the end of R10. (4) FRINGE Cut 40 – 24” strands of yarn. FINISHING

v Fold side tabs in half and insert through metal rings, sew row 4 to row 8 (just under the metal ring to fasten in place). Attach to side of bag: Insert rows 1-2 under the ch-4 on the inside and rows 9-10 on the outside of the bag and sew in place. (SEE TUTORIAL PHOTO)

v Optional: Attach featherweight interfacing to the purse handle. v Fold handle in half lengthwise and sew closed from row 5 to row 100. Leave remaining rows

unworked. v Fold rows 1-4 (and 101-104) over other side of metal ring and sew closed. (SEE TUTORIAL

PHOTO) v Fold bag inside out, tuck handle inside, and attach zipper to the BLO sc row around the

opening. v Optional: Add midweight interfacing to the inside front and back panels to stiffen. v Optional: Add a fabric liner. Use this tutorial. v Add fringe evenly across the bottom of the bag. Use this tutorial. v Hide all strings.
