R.G. 2017 HOA Meetings Board meetings at 3:30 PM @ Auditorium Member meetings at 7 PM @ Auditorium

Board meeting Member meeting November 6 November 7 December 4 December 5 (Elections)

RGHOA President’s Report By Kathy Allen 352-509-2234

I would like to thank all those who came to the Oktoberfest and for supporting the HOA. I also want to thank all the workers and especially Jake and Marlene Scholten, who purchase all the food. Without your help we could not have done this for the community.

At the November HOA meeting, you will be introduced to all the Candidates that are running for RGHOA Board of Directors. We have 4 openings for the “At Large” position, and 1 opening in both Area 1 and 3. You can only vote for Area Director Candidates if you live in the area they are running for. We also will be taking nomina-tions from the floor at that meeting. After that point, NO nominations will be accepted. To answer the question many people have asked me, is why I am not running? The reason is, I still have another year on the Board of Directors. In December, after the election, the new Board will meet to reorganize and select the officers for 2018, as per the RGHOA Bylaws.

Also at the November meeting, the membership will hear about suggested changes to our bylaws which will be voted on at the December meeting. I want to remind everyone that only 2017 paid members can vote for both the candidates and the bylaw changes at that meeting. Only 1 vote per household is allowed under our Bylaws. Please make sure you have your 2017 Badges for voting in Dec. If you do not have one, see your Area Director.

These next 2 meetings are very important for the RGHOA and I hope you will attend. Have a Great Thanksgiving and see you November 7th.

Photo Club By Doug Wedel 608-513-8761 [email protected] The next meeting of the Photo Club is November 14th, 2017 at 2 pm at the Community Center. We are still looking for new members so if you are interested please come. At the last meeting we left the picture taking subject open to anything we felt we wanted to do. We also discussed trying to get a place where we could put some of the pictures we take and volunteered to take pictures at some of the activi-ties around the park. I've already gotten a call from someone who would like the Photo Club to take pictures at her doll show on March 24, 2018 in the Auditorium. We will also be taking pictures at the activ-ities that Rolling Greens sponsors, and hopefully the HOA activities.

R.G. Library Corner By Barbara Critchfield It's good to be back in Rolling Greens! Mike and I arrived on Sunday evening, October 15, and are working on repairing the dam-age from Hurricane Irma. We were very pleased to see that not a drop of water came through our damaged roof. Everything is repairable. We have been talking to several roofers and have learned a lot about roofs in the past couple of weeks. We will be contracting for the repair soon and expect to see a lot of folks driving by to watch the process. I especially want to thank all the volunteers who took care of the Library during the summer. I found the Library looking great when I returned. All the donations from the residents are much appreciated. I think the Library could use some more magazines. We try to keep a three-month supply of the monthly magazines and a three-week selec-tion of the weekly magazines on the shelf. When you are finished reading your most current issues, please drop them off on the cart in the Library for other residents to enjoy. Veterans Day is November 11th. The coffee table feature for this month will be several books of interest to the many veterans living in Rolling Greens. We've received some beautiful volumes about the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines that you might like to browse through when visiting the Library. The Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band will honor all veterans at their concert on November 12th at 6:30 PM at the Veterans Park, near the main Ocala Library. (Rain date for the concert and fireworks is November 13th.) Just as a reminder, I want to mention that the Library is open from 8 AM to 10 PM every day. Books, puzzles, movies, audio tapes and music can be borrowed on the honor system. Just borrow any-thing you would enjoy and returned the items to the cart when you are finished. The volunteers will return the items to the shelf. As you are unpacking or sorting, please remember that our Library items all come from the residents. Your donations are appreciated. Stop by the Community Center for some hot coffee and some good reading. See you at the Library.

Operation ShoeBox

By Kaye Loper October Halloween is almost here and it starts our holiday season. Op-eration ShoeBox is already packing, getting ready to make a little Christmas for Our Troops. If you would like to help, we need you! See me, or Theresa Cooper at 624-0362 or ShoeBox 352-307-6723. At our Oct.3rd meeting we started off with $150. As of today Oct 25th we have $430. Thant is about half way to October’s goal of $1,000. The $430. has mostly come from donations made by Woman Helping Others (W.H.O.). They make beautiful homemade items and they donate to Operation ShoeBox to be sold to help with shipping to our troops. They also make MANY soldiers bags used for shipping all those care items. The DAV #85 Bingo helps with match day is the last Monday evening of every month. All donation made by the Bingo players to Operation ShoeBox are matched by the DAV #85 Bingo. This is a big help! The new Rolling Greens License Plates are supplied thru Jim Puglise and with a small donation to Operation ShoeBox you can own one for only $12. It could be a big help in case of an emergency! I will have mine with me at HOA meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7th or call Jim at 624-9747 or me at 624-3725. To our Rolling Greens residents, thanks to all who donate. Please get your name on the donors lists. See me for the list of Care Items needed and remember every dollar donation counts. Please bring one dollar or a small item with you to the HOA meeting on Nov.7th. Thank you all who help - It’s for Our Troops!

American Flags If you have any worn out American Flags, VFW Post #4209 on 36th Ave. has a collection box and when enough flags are collected they hold a proper burning ceremony for worn out flags. Pat Shore, 7101 Cherry Pass or Laura Puglise, 203B E. Gleneagles Rd. are both Auxiliary members and would be happy to take delivery of all worn out American Flags. Thanks!

Doll Show and Sale By Harriet Brinker

We will be having a Doll Show with a Sales Room on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the late afternoon. This will be a free event. Tables have been reserved and a waiting list is now availa-ble for anyone who would like to display. There will be no admission charge except for lunch and ice cream from Bruster’s Ice Cream Wag-on.

The sales room will include a wide range of exceptionally high quality and unique dolls. The dolls will range from the very old, including some antiques, to the more modern, which will include dolls circa the 1950’s all the way up to those of the present day. There will also be doll clothing on display as well as anything related to the enjoyment of hav-ing dolls. You may come and stroll down Memory Lane. Be lifted up to recall the past of playing with our dolls while growing up. There will be Shirley Temples, Margaret O’Briens, Strawberry Dolls, Bears and many others dear to our hearts. Sellers will be happy to talk to you, show their wares, and we also will have a Doll Doctor who can do repairs. There will also be a Certified Doll Appraiser who can accurately value your dolls for a very small fee to cover the cost of the valuation certificate. You are encouraged to bring whatever dolls you have questions about.

Many of our sellers are well known in the industry with many years of experience. You will meet people from as far as Arizona and as close as within our great state of Florida. A healthy lunch will be pre-pared for a small charge in the lunch room. There will also be live music throughout the day. We expect to have a photographer for pictures during the event, and folks from outside of the park will be encouraged to come as well. Some of them may choose to tour our wonderful Park and facilities.

I am working on setting up a few short educational seminars that will offer information about dolls and their history. We are also planning to sell tickets for raffles with interesting prizes. The proceeds will likely be donated to help support needy Veterans both here in Rolling Greens and in the local community. In place of an admission fee we are asking that you please donate an item to our food bank for those residents in need of food and paper products.

Watch for a sign up list on the board in the Auditorium this com-ing January, so I can have the tickets ready to send out prior to the event. We are expecting to have a full house of residents and people outside the community. Hope to see all of our Rolling Greens neighbors at the event.

Midwest Club Sandra Leach Secretary MINUTES FOR THE MIDWEST CLUB FOR OCTOBER 13, 2017 The evening started with Happy Hour that began at 5 PM. Dinner was served at 6 PM. Next the meeting was called to order by Bob Senge, President, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Lana Senge, Treas-urer, read her report which was voted on & accepted. The minutes from the prior month had already been posted in the newsletter. Bob then acknowledged members who had birthdays in the month of Octo-ber and also members who had anniversaries in that month as well. He thanked those who helped to set up the dinner. He then discussed the dinner on Thursday, November 9th that will be held with the New England Club. It will be turkey and all the fixings. The following people said they would prepare the turkeys pro-vided by the Midwest Club: Paula Bianchi, Sandy Stiverson and Ter-rell Hilgeford. Anyone wishing to volunteer for set up or to help in the kitchen should contact Bob Senge. Also, please contact Lana Senge by phone or Tim Hilgeford by email as to the other “side or dessert (fixings)” that you will be bringing. Also discussed was the Christmas gathering. It will be held Saturday, December 23rd. The following will be served at a cost of $12 per person: ribs & Lee’s roasted chicken. Tickets will be on sale from November 9th to December 9th. Club members will provide the sides & desserts. For entertainment, please bring a wrapped gift worth $10 or less, as we will be having a “Chinese Gift Grab”. Also, keep in mind that elections will be held for the new board members for 2018 at the December meeting. Respectfully submitted, Sandra Leach, Secretary

Veterans Wall By Mary McCarthy I am writing about the veterans wall in the Auditorium. If you are new to Rolling Greens and just have bought a home here, and if you have served in our great country and would like to add your pho-tos, (service and one current photo), please call Mary McCarthy at 624-2911 or Betty Pennington at 624-0339 or Ann Quinlivan at 694-1999. We will copy your photos and return your originals and add your name, years of service and branch on your photos. All residents will stay on the wall until for some reason you leave the park, at which your photos will come down. This honor is for present home owners only. Thank you, Mary.

What Did Irma Leave Behind? By Jean Agamaite Mosquitoes, mosquitoes, & more mosquitoes! According to the article in Ocala Star Banner, Sept 20, 2017, “Mosquito Control Opera-tions resume in Miami area.” Statement “...there are no areas in Florida where mosquitoes are transmitting Zika dengue or other viruses to people.” BOLONEY! Have you ever seen anything published about the Filariasis carried by mosquitoes? It is here in this county, and with these hurricanes, more are coming! No new research, limited medication, so don’t mention it and it will go away. I don’t think so! It is forever and very life changing. Guess what? It is spread and injected by mosquitoes. Please pick up and dump flower pots or standing water and unused items. Please help protect your neighbors’ health. If you are interested in checking this out go to your computer, Mayo Clinic website. Filariasis infections - 4 types, Mansonella Ozzardi - very interesting. P.S. Do we in Rolling Greens treat standing water in culverts and drain ditches or our wooded areas?

Thanks for the fast clean-up from IRMA!

The RG Web By Timothy Hilgeford [email protected] As fall approaches I look forward to cooler temperatures and the upcoming Holidays. The Park is beginning to fill up as our friends and neighbor return. It is a time of rejoicing and making merry. In that vein I want to remind everyone to check the website often as events will be added frequently. Also, don’t forget if you have an event that needs updating, please let me know. It been almost a year since I started managing the website full time and it’s been very interesting watching the changes that have occurred in that time. As things have evolved, I find myself in need of an assistant, so if anyone out there would like a new challenge, please contact me at [email protected]. The work is not very strenuous, but some familiarity with computers is helpful. I also want to remind everyone that the elections for the HOA board are rapidly approaching and we need everyone involved. So please, I urge anyone who is not a member to please become one. The dues are a small price to pay to have your voice heard. Finally, November is the month we celebrate Thanksgiving and, especially this year, we have many things to be thankful for. We were spared the brunt of Hurricane Irma and for most, the worst part was no electricity in parts of our community. Many others in our coun-try were not so fortunate, so let us not forget to be thankful for all the blessings we enjoy and to reach out to those less fortunate.

Area 4 By Bonnie Quackenbush Area 4 Director, H.O.A. Board of Directors As I write this, I am a day past the deadline for this Nov issue, so I am not even sure it will be published. For those of you who know me well, you are aware of the very difficult month I have had and probably understand why my article is late or perhaps isn't even published at all and if it is not published, then what I have to say is insignificant. However, I am not one to slight my responsibilities and as a member of the HOA Board, one of those re-sponsibilities is to write an article each month for our residents to have the choice of reading. I know, for a fact, that there are several people who look forward to my musings, so it is for them I doing this. Last month I wrote about being alone and this month it would have been about doing something that has been one of the hardest things you have ever done or ever had to tell someone. In my case, after many years of being husband and wife and caring or taking care of that person, is to tell that person that you are unable to take care of them anymore Bob has had many medical issues and has for many years and it has taken it's toll. He has gone from the hospital to rehab for therapy many times, but this last time there was not a lot of progress and so he is going to need to go to assisted living where he can receive the care he needs.........at this time. We are hopeful that this will not be long term. That is where I will end this overdue article, with the hopes you will be reading it now. I want to thank those who have been with me through it all, have been my strength during the weak times and my support always when I have needed it. Thoughts and prayers are so powerful. I want to end with these two statements that I have recently read and are so appropriate at this time............ Be careful who you open up to. Only a few people actively care, the rest just want something to gossip about. AND Kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world, no matter what you look like, no matter how you feel about yourself be-cause the receiver of that kindness sees you as the best there is. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Bonnie Quackenbush

Area 2 By Linnea Corneilson Area 2 Director

Happy Fall! Welcome back Snowbirds! Remember Veterans Day! Enjoy the cooler mornings, and most of all, HAPPY THANKS-GIVING! The stores are full of Christmas decorations and so this fa-vorite holiday is mostly forgotten. We have much to be thankful for this year. Irma didn't hit us like it was supposed to do. We have a beautiful Park to live in, and we are well fed and secure. Much of the world has none of this. Celebrate our blessings.

When we visited London on Veterans Day a few years ago, we celebrated "Remembrance Day" with parades and white crosses and more poppies than I have ever seen. I like the name, Remem-brance Day! It tells me that we owe a debt of gratitude to all those men and women who were willing to serve our country for freedom, knowing that some would not come back. Ours was a gold star family, when my brother was killed in Egypt during WWII. I remember the knock on the door and the officers giving my parents the news. I saw my Dad fly the flag that we were given at his memorial service, and treasured the fact that my brother, Carl, was able to see his grave in a field of white crosses. We need to remember. We need to work for peace.

We had good food and fellowship at Octoberfest. Thanks to Jake and his crew, Rose Tan selling tickets, and Board members help-ing out. It was a successful event. The board has been working hard to

Area 1

By Kent Badders Area 1 Director The most current and accurate information received as of last HOA meeting has been revised for contacting Duke Energy concern-ing residential power questions. Laurel Thorne, from Easy Street, has been in contact with Duke Energy and she has supplied this for all of us in Area 1. Thank you Laurel. Please make a note that the Duke Energy residential response phone number is 1-800-700-8744. For businesses, if you need it, the number is 1-877-372-8477. Laurel wanted us to publish these numbers in The RG Newslet-ter and I agreed as Area 1 Director to include them in my area update for Nov. 2017.

Area 2 (continued)

serve you and I hope that some of you are considering running for office.

Last month I asked if some of you would meet with me to to discuss how we fared during the hurricane and immediately after-wards. Peg Heier, Tim Hillgeford, Fran Mistelry, Paula Baker and Kathy Allen joined me on October 18th. Wes and Naomi were there too. Here are some of the things we discussed:

First and foremost, we said that things went pretty well, be-cause Irma didn't hit us with 175 mile winds. We are worried that be-cause we came through it so well, that some residents may think we will always be safe staying in our homes even when we are told to evacuate.

We felt that people need to plan ahead. Don't fill your freezer in July and August and September with ice from the kitchen. Think of others when you take more ice than you need. Let Naomi know of your safety plans and give her your cell phone number before the storm hits. If we have terrific winds, we need to know which websites to search.

We felt that we need to check on our neighbors once a storm is over. In fact, we want to have a phone tree of six to eight vol-unteers who would be willing to check on our neighbors. Wes in-formed us that the Auditorium and Center will be open as soon as the county gives them permission to use these buildings. There is an in-dustrial generator for them and designated (red sockets) plug-ins that can be used for medical equipment, to charge phones and internet devices. The lounge chairs from the pool-side would be available to rest on, even at night if we have a problem like this year with Easy Street, East Gleneagles, etc., not having power. He also told us that the kitchen could be available for potluck meals. In that way we could use food that might spoil in our homes, and maybe even have some fun instead of feeling deprived.

I was very glad that residents stepped up to share ideas, and that Wes and Naomi wanted to be a part of the solution. We know that Newby can't take care of the electric problem. We also wanted to get "Marian Alert.com" out to all of you as a super source for infor-mation before the next storm. Get the app and maybe one from a TV station’s weather news department.

Please see me if you are willing to check on your neighbors. Please listen to calls for evacuation notices. Marion County will pick you up and take you to a shelter with your pets. Those who went said that the shelters tried to provide care and had vets on hand to care for pets and qualified help for anyone needing medical assistance.

Again, "Gratitude" is my word for us. Let us keep caring about each other and make this the best Park in Central Florida.

Shoes to Help Women and Children Mary Hill

Hello everyone, my name is Mary Hill, and I live at 6893C Dollymount Drive here in Rolling Greens. Once again I am going to collect shoes to take to Shepherd’s Lighthouse in Belleview, FL. For some of our new residents who may not know about Shepherd’s Light-house, it is an organization that helps to feed and house women and children — abused women and pregnant women who have nowhere to go. They will take shoes of any kind — new shoes, pretty shoes, ugly shoes, and even worn out shoes. If they are good, they sell them in their thrift store. If not so good, they sell them by the pound for cash.

So, at no cost to you, here is a great way to help someone in need and a chance to get rid of those shoes just taking up space in your closets. Be sure to tell your friends, also. I will collect through the middle of December. You may bring them to our residence, and if I’m not home, just leave them in the carport. Contact me at 724 261-0984. Thanks everyone.

NY Club By Mary Hill

Welcome back everyone to a new season of the NY Club! Thanks to Linda Lee Krebs for “taking over the helm” and being ready to keep the club rolling with lots of new ideas. Thanks, too, to every-one else who agreed to help her, to those who helped in the kitchen on such a short notice, and to the men who cooked our Sahleln’s Hot Dogs. After dinner, we played “The Price is Right” with very few good shoppers.

We were delighted to welcome so many new members and would like to extend the invitation to all residents, and especially new-er residents, to join us for an evening out. You do not have to be from NY, and of course you may join any or all of the clubs.

One of the ideas Linda Lee’s presented to the club was to have every dinner catered at a cost of only $7.00 pp. But the mem-bership seemed to be split on this, so it was agreed to have some catered and some remain pot luck.

November’s dinner on the 16th will be pot luck, and a sign-up sheet was passed around to determine what everyone would bring. If you plan to come, please call either Linda Lee at 624-3154 or Mary Hill at 724 261-0984 to let us know what you will bring for all to enjoy. As always, remember to bring your own place setting. For entertainment, we will be having horse races. So you need to bring some $1.00 bills to join in the fun.

Our Christmas party will be December 21st, and it will be catered. So plan to buy tickets at the November dinner for only $7.00 pp. More information will follow.

Congratulations to Linda Regan Krout and Earl Krout, who were JUST MARRIED on October 14th. Congratulations, also, to Joe & Ann Quinlivan who have been MARRIED 55 YEARS as of the 27th. New members celebrating anniversaries this month are: Jim & Evelyn Kennedy, 9 years on the 17th; Mike & Cheryl Noble, 26 years on the 5th; and Brian & Pat Hilliker, 48 years on the 25th.

Happy birthday to all of you who were born in the lovely month of October : Bill Schrader, the 1st; Rae Jean James, the 3rd; Larry Titemore, the 7th; Arlene Scheer, the 12th; Sandy Stiverson, the 14th; Tom Baness; the 22nd and Norma Anderson the 26th.

We look forward to more of our snow birds coming back and joining us in November. Please Invite a friend to come! And we wish all a very happy Thanksgiving. As I’ve heard from nearly everyone here, we have a lot to be thankful for this year here in Rolling Greens.

YOGA INSTRUCTION AT RG! Weekly 9 A.M. Beginning Tuesday, November 14th.

Our yoga class is starting again! This class is led by Jill, a certified yoga teacher. Her class is mindfully geared to the individual and their comfort level. She asks students to follow their innate wisdom which knows what is best for their body. Safety, exploration and modifi-cations are observed. This is a gentle yoga class linked with breath, compassion and awareness. All fitness levels will benefit from this class. Please bring a yoga mat and any props you have. A thick towel or small blanket (for knees), yoga strap (or old tie), and a yoga block.

See You There!

RGVFD Memorial Service The RGVFD would once again like to remind you of a beautiful service that they have decided to render to every resident in the park. If you have a family member who passes away and would like to have a memorial service for him/her here in the park, the volunteer fire dept. is here to help. We will provide a beautiful table set-up, cake, coffee, and a guest book. If there would be more food brought by other people, they would help

to serve it. The chair person to contact is Mary McCarthy at 352-624-2901.

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE I traveled down some of the streets of Ocala in the past couple of weeks and saw the trash and debris piled up since the hurricane devastated our area. The sight made an impression on me and I marveled that it had taken so long to clean up the mess. I made a mental note to myself that we live in pretty great place because our hurricane mess was corrected and cleaned up in record time, in fact the men in our clean up crew had our park looking like a hurricane had never come thru. For the most part, with a few exceptions, the next day it looked like the hurri-cane by passed Rolling Greens entirely. Our crew deserves “CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.” Great job fellas. Maybe not all of you have occasion to frequent the pro-duce stand on Baseline Rd. If you don’t, it probably won’t im-press you that it has reopened under new management. The décor is fantastic and the produce, although limited in quantity, is abundant in quality. If you haven’t patronized him in the past you should now and in the future. They also need “CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.” They also are doing a fine job. Last but not least, we had reason to have a man crawl under our house and when he came out he asked who controlled the bugs at our house and we proudly told him Furce Pest Con-trol did. He said “They are doing a fine job there is not even a spider web under there.” We have done business with Furce for 17years and I would recommend them highly. Perhaps you did-n’t know that Donna Furce publishes our newsletter “The Roll-ing Greens News, j” as well as runs the business end of “Furce Pest Control.” She also deserves “CREDIT WHERE CRED-IT IS DUE” She is doing a fine job. RENT CALCULATION BY SANDRA LEACH SECRETARY OF THE RGHOA

As you all know, the ownership & Newby Management were nice enough to lower our rent increase for 2018 from 3.25% to 1.8%. Here are hypothetical examples of how that change would work based on when your rent increase transpires.

EXAMPLE 1: Resident whose rent is November 2017 to October 2020: With rent change and return to 3.25% increase after: $615.25 x 1.0325 = 635.25 x 12 = $7,623.00 for Nov 2017 to Oct 2018 $635.25 x 1.0180 = 646.68 x 12 = $7,760.16 for Nov 2018 to Oct 2019 $646.68 x 1.0325 = 667.20 x 12 = $8,012.40 for Nov 2019 to Oct 2020 Grand total = $23,395.56 Without rent Change: $615.25 x 1.0325 = 635.25 x 12 = $7,623.00 for Nov 2017 to Oct 2018 $635.25 x 1.0325 = 655.90 x 12 = $7,870.80 for Nov 2018 to Oct 2019 $655.90 x 1.0325 = 677.22 x 12 = $8,126.64 for Nov 2019 to Oct 2020 Grand total = $23,620.44 SAVINGS $224.88

EXAMPLE 2: Resident whose rent is March 2017 to February 2020: With rent change and return to 3.25% increase after: $649.75 x 1.0325 = 670.87 x 12 = $8,050.44 for Mar 2017 to Feb 2018 $670.87 x 1.0180 = 682.95 x 12 = $8,195.40 for Mar 2018 to Feb 2019 $682.95 x 1.0325 = 705.15 x 12 = $8,461.80 for Mar 2019 to Feb 2020 Grand total = $24,707.64 Without rent change: $649.75 x 1.0325 = 670.87 x 12 = $8,050.44 for Mar 2017 to Feb 2018 $670.87 x 1.0325 = 692.67 x 12 = $8,312.04 for Mar 2018 to Feb 2019 $692.67 x 1.0325 = 715.18 x 12 = $8,582.16 for Mar 2019 to Feb 2020 Grand total = $24,944.64

DID YOU KNOW Michael Stone

Growing up in our family, my beloved Grandma Rose often gave us grandkids practical words of worldly advice over a piece of cinnamon toast or a linzer tart, while sucking down a glass of hot tea through a sugar cube between her teeth. Her adages were all based on life experiences from places and centuries long ago. Even as kids, we didn't always take them as gospel, although they were very interesting to listen to. We are basically talking about the 'watched pot won't boil' variety of adages. Anyway, I ran across a list of some modern day 'words of practical wisdom' the other day and thought you might find them interesting or even useful. I am told most of these actually work. So, with apologies to my dear Grandma Rose, here are some modern practical thoughts, in no particu-lar order, that you may find useful in your Active R.G. everyday lives:

Never feed bread to ducks! They cannot digest bread and it could kill them.

According to a well documented study - Smelling Rubbing Alcohol you can relieve Nausea almost immediately.

Falling air pressure causes pain in birds' ears. So if you notice birds flying very close to the ground it almost al-ways means a thunderstorm is coming.

No need to buy chemicals to kill ants. Instead, get a spray bottle, fill it with water and salt to a 25% solution. Shake well, spray and......Boom! Dead.

9 foods that are known to relieve an upset stomach are - Bananas; Papayas; Ginger; Plain Yogurt; Apple Sauce; Oatmeal; White Rice; Chamomile Tea; Chicken Soup (Grandma Rose's Wonder Food..).

Running your bacon under cold water before cooking will reduce shrinkage by up to 50%.

Remove a splinter easily and painlessly by applying a paste of baking soda and water. Then wait several minutes for the splinter to pop out of the skin.

Use the bottom portion of an empty 2 liter pop bottle to make flavored ice for your punch bowl or favorite highball. And, it will look like a flower.

Putting a small amount of 7Up in a flower vase will pre-serve them for much longer. I wonder if Sprite works just as well.

Can't afford Microsoft Word? Get "Open Office". It's the same thing except it is free and has even more features.

Be aware when ordering the Pot Pie or Honey BBQ Chicken at KFC or Lees. There is an excellent probability that these are made with left over cooked chicken from the previous day. Same with BBQ chickens on the spit at most supermarkets.

Placing a Banana peel over a bruise for between 10 and 30 minutes will remove the color (redness) from the bruise.

If you're in an area where you should have cell phone service but don't, put your phone on 'airplane mode' for a minute and then switch it back. This will cause your phone to re-register (re-boot) and find all the towers in your vicinity.

When filling your car or truck with gas, hold the gas trig-ger only half way into your tank. You will get more gas and less air into the tank.

Baking Soda catalyzes (activates) Super Glue. A light sprinkle will cause even a large amount to set in seconds.

If you peel a Banana from the bottom, you won't have to pick the little stringy things off of it.

When approaching a door, look for the hinges. If the hinges face you them PULL the door open. If you don't see them, PUSH. This will help you avoid some embarrassing moments.

Eat more Marshmallows! Marshmallows relieve tooth aches, asthma, sore throats and arthritis (Almost as good as Grandma's chicken soup, but probably more fun to eat).

A Message to the Community of R.G. As news spreads in our community like wildfire, I am sure that by the time this message gets to yu, you will already know that I have resigned my position as Sales Associate for Rolling Greens. The main reason was that I could be at home to assist Jo during the recovery of her surgery and also, so I can start taking care of Francis and his hurting bones. But those of you that know me, know that I have a restless self and my brain keeps running mostly when I have nothing to do. So, I thought I would dedicate my time to assist the “For Sale by Owner” who don’t want to be charged with the high commissions that prevail in our area. My services will include all paperwork necessary for the SELL-ER and assist the BUYER with forms and guidance for his/her appli-cation for residency. I will gladly meet with any of you at your convenience so I can better explain how you can benefit from my services. Give me a call, text me or send me an e-mail if you are inter-ested.
