Update Baseline
The very first snapshot created during setup is the baseline. It is the
foundation of all other snapshots created after. There times you might
want to update the baseline, especially after you have upgraded operating
system and your system settings and configurations or some
other changes. Rollback Rx™ Enterprise Administrator Console allows
administrators to remotely update the baseline for selected clients.
Update baseline will take a snapshot for the current system and make
it the baseline snapshot. In the process, all the baseline histories will
be consolidated into the new baseline snapshot. If you just want to
take a snapshot for the current system, choose "take snapshot" instead.
Right click a group icon and then choose Update Baseline from the
popup menu.

and neat condition where it is all started from. Reset Baseline allows
administrators to return the computer back to the baseline with a reboot.

FAQ
What is Rollback Rx Enterprise?
Rollback Rx Enterprise is the network version of Rollback Rx PC
protection software. It allows IT administrators to remotely manage
client computers that have Rollback Rx client software installed.
How many versions of Rollback Rx are there?
Rollback Rx currently has four versions: Rollback Rx Standard,
Rollback Rx Professional, Rollback Rx Enterprise with Standard client
and Rollback Rx Enterprise with Professional client.
How does Rollback Rx work?
Rollback Rx allows users to create “snapshots” for their PC. Then they
can select snapshot to recover files from or to restore the entire system
to. Both restoring snapshot and taking snapshot only takes seconds to
complete.
What is a snapshot?
Technically speaking, a snapshot is the map of the hard disk sectors
and the map’s indexing system. Practically speaking, a snapshot is a
“picture” of the system and data at a specific time.
How many snapshots can I take with Rollback Rx?
Chapter 5
horizo
n datasy
s
ROLLBACK RX™ ENTERPRISE
63
Rollback Rx Professional client supports up to 60,000 snapshots.
Rollback Rx Standard client provides one updatable snapshot.
How much disk space is required to take those snapshots?
Theoretically, Rollback Rx only takes 0.07% total hard disk space to
create all those snapshots. That is the least amount of disk space
required to protect the entire system comparing to any software ever
been produced; however, each snapshot might contain different amount
of user data; therefore each snapshot size might differ.
Does Rollback Rx prevent hardware failure?
No, Rollback Rx is a software solution. It manages all the information
on the local hard disk. No third-party media is required to run Rollback
Rx. Therefore, in the case of hardware failure, Rollback Rx is not able
to run.
Is Rollback Rx a replacement for backup software?
No, Rollback Rx is not a replacement for backup software. Most
backup software copies the backup information to a third-party media,
either tape or network server. Rollback Rx does not need a third-party
media to operate. It is able to protect and fix your computer problems
locally on the hard drive. Therefore, Rollback Rx is not operable in the
case of hardware failure. The backup of important data to third-party
media is still encouraged.
