Cumulative absences above ten (10) in a block course are excessive. After five (5) days of accumulated absences in one or more block courses, there will be school-determined, expectations-based intervention to help the student improve his or her attendance. The intervention will involve parents. After ten (10) days of accumulated absences in a block course and failure to meet previously-determined expectations, the student will be subject to failure, retention, or summer school.

Students who violate the dress code will be required to call home so that their parents can bring them a change of clothes.

• Be involved in your child’s education. Check Powerschool and your child's teachers' web sites and show an interest in what they are learning in school.

• Periodically review their homework asignments, and check for completion.

• E-mail your child’s teachers with academic concerns or questions.

time by setting “homework time” each night. At least 1 ½ -2 hours. Stick to the schedule. Students will have something they can do or review every night. If they are truly caught up, they should be taking notes on chapters & reviewing what was discussed in class.

• Help your student use a planner. Teach them how to plan ahead, particularly for long term projects or tests that will be coming up.
