OIL SLUDGE TREATMENT
Oil recovery from lagoons
In the past, it was common to dump oily residuals from refineries, petrochemical plants, and other industries into large sedimentation ponds.
Rohrer can provide complete systems to effectively handle these lagoons and ponds and recover useful oil.

The Oil- and Drilling sludges are dug out with special designed caterpillars or pumped with super suction trucks. The special loaders can reach up to 20m into the sludge pits.

Separation / Vibration Sieve
Due to the high percentage of coarse grain impurities most of the sludges have to be preseparated using a mobile two deck vibration sieve.
Decanting or Tricanting units
Cleaning of residues with de- or tricanting units running with abt. 3.500 rpm and separating the waste stream into two phases - solids and liquids (Decanting unit) or three phases - solids, water and oil (Tricanter unit)

Very low percentages of sediments in water and oil can be reached.
Waste water is mainly reused for the sieve process and sludge delution.

The resulting dry residue reaching a content of solid matter up to 70%, depending on the quality of the feed material. Dry residue can be futher processed by microbiological treatment to lower the remaining hydrocarbon content.
