EXECUTIVE
REGION DIRECTORS
Roger Daigle, new President of the AQCC
On top of already being the NB ATV Federation President, Roger Daigle, is now also the
new President of the All-Terrain Quad Council of Canada (AQCC). The event was held
in Winnipeg, during the second weekend of September. Roger was first elected as Re-
gional Director, then nominated as a presidential candidate, and finally elected as Presi-
dent.
His first objective is to make this organization more visible with a new Social Brand and
logo. For many, the AQCC does not mean much. It is better known through the provin-
cial quad federations across Canada.
The AQCC exists for member federations and associations across Canada to facilitate
knowledge transfer, to share best practices, to deliver targeted programs (CASI Rider-
CourseSM) to foster the growth to make stronger rider federations, and to lend weight
and focus to member advocacy efforts.
With that in mind, our president wishes to work to improve the well-being of those mem-
bers by advocating: «Who we are and what we are».
“I saw that there was a need, and at first, I thought that I could offer a lot by becoming
Region Director for the AQCC, but at the end of the day, I found myself as the new Pres-
ident for a two-year term. Things have improved greatly for our industry; conflicts have
been reduced over the years and we are now experiencing a better communication with
the snowmobile industry’’, said the president.
Speaking of improvements, let’s
not forget that our Federation’s
membership has gone from less
than 9 000 in 2012 to possibly
over 22 000 in 2017. The mem-
bers have increased dramatically
since the trail permits became
mandatory in 2013.

What’s new? Clubs
In Region 6, a new club was born. It is club # 63170-57 Lorneville Trail Riders in Lorneville, NB. The club must
complete a one-year probationary period before becoming an official club and enjoying the same benefit as other
clubs. New club President, Brian Sonier, said he was thrilled and ready to take up the challenge.
Regions
Region 5 and Region 8: As you know, the Federation now has 8 Regions. In May, President Roger Daigle an-
nounced that Region 5 would be divided into two (2) parts to create the new Region 8. But at the time, I had forgot-
ten to include one of the clubs in the May newsletter. So I decided to give you a more detailed list of how Region 5
was divided:
From Dieppe and going East and North, this remains Region 5, which includes the following nine (9) clubs:
#53010-26 ATV Country Wheelers
#53020-29 VTT Memramcook
#53050-30 Club VTT Dieppe ATV Club
#53060-28 Tantramar ATV Club
#53100-27 Club VTT Cap-Pelé ATV Club
#53110-23 Club VTT East Shore ATV Trails
#53120-22 Club Skiroue inc.
#53150-25 United ATV Club
#53190-24 Ridge Riders ATV Club
From Moncton and going West and North, it becomes Region 8, which includes the following 6 clubs:
1. # 83030-31 Moncton Mudrunners ATV Club
2. # 83040-33 Petty Trail Blazers
3. # 83070-35 Saint John ATV Club inc.
4. # 83080-34 Sussex Valley All-Terrain Club inc.
5. # 83130-32 Albert County Trail Blazers
6. # 83200-43 Slo-Poke ATV Club
The border between the two (2) splits along the river between Moncton and Dieppe.
Federation Autumn marks the time for regional meetings. Regions 1, 2 3 and 4 held their meetings from Sept. 18 to 21. Regions
5, 6, 7 and 8 held theirs from October 2 to 5. At each regional meeting, two (2) delegates per club, two (2) Region
Directors and two (2) Federation delegates, usually Jacques Poirier and Roger Daigle, are invited. At these meetings,
clubs in each region discuss the various challenges they face. But these meetings are more importantly to elect the
Directors in each region who will sit on the Board of Directors of the NB ATV Federation for the next coming year.
Sometimes the Regional Director is re-elected and sometimes someone else takes over.

On September 14th, at around 3:00 pm, 911 received a call reporting a burning infrastructure in Inkerman, NB, in
the Acadian Peninsula. Shockingly, the black cloud of smoke, which traveled over a distance of about 500 meters
and which could be seen from many kilometers away, was coming from the wooded multi-use Inkerman leisure
bridge.
During the last three decades, this abandoned rail bed was enjoyed by snowmobilers, ATVers and non-motorized
users alike. This is a tremendous loss for the local and regional businesses in the community and surrounding are-
as. This cultural heritage had been a part of the community’s scenery since the beginning of the previous century.
Built at the end of the 19th Century, it was part of the train rail network linking the Acadian Peninsula communi-
ties to Bathurst. It was rebuilt in the early 1940s. It continued to be used for leisure purposes after it was aban-
doned by the railway system in 1980. Anyone having information on the causes of the fire is asked to report it to
the RCMP at 1-506-726-5222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The RCMP is considering the fire suspicious
in nature.

Public consultation—Inkerman bridge
Public consultation to identify alternate routes to replace burnt Inkerman Bridge
On September 14, the entire Inkerman community was in shock as a fire alarm was raised when the Inker-
man bridge caught on fire. This bridge was used by members of the NB Federation of Snowmobile Clubs,
the NB ATV Federation, as well as pedestrians and cyclists.
Facing this unpredicted crisis, the New-Brunswick ATV Federation, with the support of the other groups,
organized a public consultation, to get the community’s opinion for temporary replacing routes. Many tens
of thousands of dollars will be lost for the community’s economic benefit. Even more, the Acadian Peninsu-
la benefited, until the fire, of a loop connecting all the ATV clubs which made it one of the greatest clusters
for Winter ATVing in New-Brunswick.
At the meeting held at the Inkerman Community Center, the approximately 150 people who were present
heard from stakeholders representing the three user groups, Club Motoneige Péninsule Acadienne, Brake-
water ATV Club and Véloroute Péninsule acadienne, as well as Serge Rousselle, Minister of the Environ-
ment and Local Government. He explained to the public that engineers had already begun to plan with Fish-
eries and Oceans Cana-
da, for the site’s decontamination.
For the representative of Véloroute Péninsule acadienne, Armand Caron, the plans have not changed. In his
ambitions for development, the project of parallel trails is still in the works to connect Inkerman to Shippa-
gan, Caraquet and Tracadie. All in order to have adequate infrastructure and attract tourists. Wesley Stewart,
President of Club Motoneige Péninsule Acadienne, said that the passion of volunteers sometimes leads to
conflicts or disagreements between groups, but that it is necessary to unite and work together. It is this pas-
sion of volunteers that leads to advancement. Last to speak, was Wilmond Rousselle, President of Brake-
water ATV Club, who fears that the survival of his club is in danger due to the fact that such a loss may dis-
courage people from buying their trail permits.
The formation of a strategic alliance gives weight to stakeholder comments. The community, through its si-
lence during the public consultation, expresses its agreement to all these efforts of the three groups.

What else can we say other than : ‘’Congratulations
to our three organizing clubs and this edition’s Pres-
ident, Ken Legge’’. Your event was flawless. The
Rusagonis, York County West and CFB Gagetown
ATV clubs joined their efforts and surpassed them-
selves when organizing the 4th Annual New Bruns-
wick All-Terrain Vehicle Federation Provincial
Jamboree.
There were no less than 450 participants registered
for the event that was presented in the Woolastook
Park area near Fredericton, from August 4th to 7th. The weekend was launched with the Friday night ride where no
less than 100 bikes were seen at the starting line! The event continued on Saturday with a ride to Beaver Dam
with a BBQ along the way. The same night, the party was interrupted by heavy rains. However, this didn’t stop
the riders from taking a later start the following morning and the participants were not disappointed. They took the
Island View marked destination. In the evening, everybody was able to dance and say so long. Organizers pro-
ceeded to the 2017 Teryx Side-by-Side draw, sponsored by Canadian Kawasaki Motors Inc. and the Atlantic Ka-
wasaki dealers as well as Phil’s Auto & Recreation. The happy winner was Paulette McDonald of Saint John, NB.
For the Federation’s President, Roger Daigle, this is another mission accomplished. ‘’Ken and his team did a great
job. The distances were short and everything was finely tuned. The event’s goal to allow visitors to discover a
new area and offer the opportunity for everyone to better know our product, was met”, said the president. He add-
ed: “The Provincial Jamboree also shows that it is possible for a smaller club to join other clubs and participate in
a successful event and to benefit from additional revenues.’’
The 2018 edition will be presented by Region 4
on the Miramichi, Dungarvon and Alnwick trails.
