Technology is the wave of the future, but how do you wade through the agreements to get what is needed for your jurisdiction? What nuances in an agreement should you be aware of to protect yourself? What additions to agreements should you try to get added? Get pointers, suggestions, and ideas to help procurement professionals at all levels improve their IT negotiating tactics and skills. Evaluating Responsiveness in Bids Victor Leamer, CPPB, Contracting Officer, State of Alaska Room: Salon D

What is responsiveness? What role does it play in procurements? How do you decide when a bid is responsive and when it isn't? These questions and more will be answered in this course using legal definitions, audience participation, and real world examples. This seminar will also go over responsiveness vs. responsibility, minor informalities, and mistakes in bids. Although the session is targeted toward beginner to medium experience procurement professionals, experts in the world of procurement are welcome to attend to offer their experience and suggestions. Victor will lead this session for us from Alaska, via Google Hangouts.

• Common types of procurement fraud • Weaknesses that may exist in the procurement process • Examples of evidence of fraud • Steps to prevent or detect fraud
