BEST OF BREED COMPETITIONAWARD OF MERIT IN THE BEST OF BREED COMPETITION

Following the Best of Breed Competition, the Specialty Breed Judge, at his discre-tion, may present an Award of Merit to up to ten percent (10%) of the dogs competingfor Best of Breed, including move-ups, Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, first place inVeteran Dog Class, and first place in Veteran Bitch Class. If necessary, the percent-age will be rounded up to get the full number that may be awarded.

BEST PUPPY IN THE REGULAR PUPPY CLASSESThe First Place Winners from the individual Regular Puppy Classes (6 -9 mos. and

9 -12 mos.) will compete for the award of Best Puppy in the Regular Classes. BestPuppy competition will follow Best of Breed judging.

based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches makingup the entry, judged first in these classes, will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed byvirtue of having won one of these classes.STUD DOG CLASS - This class shall be for Stud Dogs and a minimum of two (2); max-

imum of four (4) of their Get. Get MUST be entered in a Regular Class or Best of BreedCompetition at this show. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must beshown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not be the owner of the Get.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES - STUD DOG CLASS (Continued)The merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry. Theentry is only to be judged based on the merits of the Get. However, the Stud Dog must beexamined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusalunder the AKC Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy or the standard for the breed. The entry feefor Stud Dog Class (Stud Dog and two (2) to four (4) get) shall be $25.00, as a first entryor $23.00 as an additional entry. Each unit of three (3) to five (5) (Stud dog and two (2) tofour (4) Get) shall be an entity unto itself; no Stud Dog or Get may be shown as part ofanother unit. Note - Chapter 11, Section 8, of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, pro-vides that neutered dogs may be entered as the Stud Dog.BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for

Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Note - Chapter 11, Section 8, of the AKC Rules Applyingto Dog Shows, provides that spayed bitches may be entered as the Brood Bitch.BRACE CLASS - The Brace Class shall be for two (2) Boston Terriers. (Effective

January 1, 2005: A Brace is defined as two (2) dogs of the same recognized breed or vari-ety that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum oftwo handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one commonowner). This class will require an entry fee of $23.00 as a UNIT. The dogs comprising aBrace must be named at the time of entry. Both dogs MUST be entered in another Regularor Non-Regular Class at this specialty. The entry form for each dog entered in the BraceClass must be marked “Brace Class” in the space provided for Additional Classes. If morethan one Brace is entered by an individual owner, please designate Brace #1, Brace #2, etc.

PLEASE NOTE - OBEDIENCE IS NOT OFFERED AT THIS SPECIALTY.

Entry Fee: $15.00 for Junior Showmanship only, or $5.00 as an additional entry of thesame dog. Each Boston Terrier entered in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must beentered in one of the breed classes at this show, or must be entered for JuniorShowmanship only. An eligible Boston Terrier, other than the one entered, may be substi-tuted. Such substitution must be accompanied by an official AKC entry form. The Juniormust have the AKC number of the substitute Boston Terrier. All such substitutions must bemade at least one half hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship Classes at theshow. A Junior is limited to one substitution at a show. EACH Boston Terrier exhibited inJunior Showmanship must be owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler’sfather, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather, or grandmother, including the cor-responding step and half relations, or by a member of the Junior Handler’s household.Each Boston Terrier entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in DogShows or Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO ENTER. ABoston Terrier that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the veterinarian for theprotection of other dogs at the show, or the protection of the dog excused, may not be han-dled in Junior Showmanship.

years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries closehave not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class ata licensed or member show.NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS - This class is the same as the Novice Junior Class

except it shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 and under 15 years old on the dayof the show.NOVICE SENIOR CLASS - This class is the same as the Novice Junior Class except

it shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 and under 18 years old on the day of theshow.

OPEN JUNIOR CLASS - This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 yearsold and under 12 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three (3) first placeawards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present. Thewinner of each Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the OpenClass ring steward, to enter and compete in the corresponding Open Class at the sameshow provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further pro-vided there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the corresponding Open Class.OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS - This class is the same as the Open Junior Class

except it shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 and under 15 years old on the dayof the show.OPEN SENIOR CLASS - This class is the same as the Open Junior Class except it

shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 and under 18 years old on the day of the show.BEST JUNIOR HANDLER - The Junior Handlers placing first in each of the regular

Junior Showmanship Classes, if undefeated in any other Junior Showmanship Class atthis show, shall automatically be eligible to compete for Best Junior Handler. There mustbe competition for this award, with a minimum of two class winners present to compete.NOTE - Junior Handlers who win a third (3rd) Novice Class, with competition present,

after the closing of entries for this show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class tothe Open Class, provided that this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at this show.NOTICE - Junior Handlers must include their AKC Junior Handler Number on

EXTREME WEATHER AND/OR HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS bring varying concernsto our events. These situations must be considered for the health and safety of all showparticipants, officials and dogs. The AKC believes the well-being of all involved is of para-mount importance, and a club may take such action to cancel a show when necessary.

DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club and its Show Secretary will not beresponsible, and are not obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or theiragents of breed or class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class.Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring.

DOGS NEED TO BE AT THE SHOW only at the scheduled time of judging and mayleave immediately thereafter, unless required for further judging. The show site will beavailable to exhibitors from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Thursday, September 4, 2008.Exhibitors will not be admitted to the show grounds prior to 1:00 pm, and into anybuildings prior to 4:00 pm, on Thursday, September 4, 2008. The show site will againbe available from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2008; and from 6:00 amto 10:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2008, and Sunday, September 7, 2008. Dogs mustbe removed from the show site immediately following the Best in Show judging on Sunday,September 7, 2008.DOGS WILL BE ALLOWED OVERNIGHT IN THE BUILDINGS, PROVIDED THAT

OWNER INFORMATION IS POSTED ON THE CRATES. All buildings will be locked by10:00 pm nightly and will reopen at 6:00 am. A security guard will be on duty from 10:00 pmto 6:00 am. NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT OVERNIGHT IN SOFT-SIDED CRATES.

GROOMING SPACE WILL BE AVAILABLE in the Events Center, Exhibition Building,Livestock Barn and outdoors. THERE IS AMPLE GROOMING SPACE. Roping off or sav-ing spaces will not be permitted, unless authorized by the Evergreen Colorado Kennel ClubShow Committee; this will be strictly enforced. EXERCISE PENS ARE ALLOWED IN THELIVESTOCK BARN ONLY. Crates must be stacked whenever possible. NO DOGS MAYBE LEFT UNATTENDED IN SOFT-SIDED CRATES. Exhibitors are responsible for keep-ing their areas clean and must clean-up after the dogs they are exhibiting, or which areunder their care. This requirement includes both while in the ring or at any location on theshow site. Clean-up supplies will be available.

NO GENERATORS to operate within 100 feet of any ring during judging times.PLEASE, NO BABY STROLLERS IN THE SHOW BUILDINGS.ROCKY MOUNTAIN BOPSTON TERRIER CLUB, ITS MEMBERS, THE SHOW SEC-
