President’s Views• Dr. Destler owns a Chevy Volt –
“It’s very simple. The Volt is the most technologically-advanced automobile in the world, and being an American engineer and the president of one of our largest engineering schools nationally, I think the fact that this was designed by American engineers and produced by American workers is something to be proud of. So I drive one with pride.”
President’s Green Challenge for the RIT Innovation Festival
May 2012 - An electric vehicle must complete a quarter mile distance in the fastest time.
May 2011 - complete a three-mile loop around campus while expending the least amount of energy.
