With the Robotron offer calculation utility companies prepare offers of the different commodities for their customers and potential clients (consumption metering/ SLP) on the basis of flexible procurement scenarios and freely configurable contribution margin schemes.

After finishing the calculation, printing of the offer variations can be initiated using an integrated document generator. PROCUREMENT OPTIMIZATION –

Procurement risk management

Integrated into the business-wide risk management, the application of

robotron*e~sales effectively limits the risk of trade transactions within a defined time period. This is done by a number of monitoring mechanisms. This way, for instance limits for procurement employees, portfolios, products or counterparties contribute to risk minimization. In case of limit violations logged actions, such as warning notifications via different paths, prevention of trade transaction, can be arranged for.

In all books risk key figures such as VaR, PnL or MtM are freely defined and automatically stored as time series. The portfolio quality is, among other things, influenced by the effect of market price or serving behavior changes and can be monitored by applying a stress test. A time-key figures-matrix (reporting about limits, warning threshold and predefined standard values over various periods) is meant to support such actions.

The application of user groups and the regulative assignment of rights for individual users allow for the required access security. At the same time all status transitions for trade and index transactions can be defined in detail with regard to the principle of double checking and/or change of procurement operator. A comprehensive revision security is guaranteed by documenting all relevant status changes and transactions within the system.

Portfolio management

With the module “portfolio management” the fulfillment of demand for one or more sales organizations can be optimized. Selected functionalities:

The different balancing modules reflect the coverage of any requirements of the different market processes in and outside of Germany. For this purpose a number of tools for aggregation/ calculation, balance group and contract management as well as market communication with different market partners are provided.

All determined figures are available in respective formats and can be seamlessly forwarded to neighboring systems and modules.

Balancing: All balancing-relevant structures and relating detailed information can be analyzed at a glance and processed in one user interface.»

Balancing power

Suppliers and balancing group managers are able to automatically readjust the sample balance on the basis of the data supplied by the grid operator and the balancing group coordinator. This way feed-in and withdrawals per grid area and energy balance account can be determined through shadow accounting.

The totals of shadow accounting are compared with the balancing totals by the system. Determined deviations are shown in table form and graphical illustrations.

Clear structures of the contract model form the basis for balancing within robotron*e~sales. The following contract structures as well as their allocations among one another are defined:

The mapping of contracts result in the views on balan-cing structures per control area, energy balancing ac-count, grid area or supplier. Another step is the deter-mination of energy quantities for feed-in/ procurement and /or withdrawal for a number of precisely defined and familiar feed-in or withdrawal points in specified time intervals, defined through contractual periods.

Metering points of consumption metering and feeders are taken into account through time series. Metering points of non-metered supplier and feed.in points are assigned SLP lines which store forecasting and consumption data in form of annual consumptions/ forecasts and are converted to quarterly values per load profile procedure.

Balancing gas

On the basis of received MSCONS messages per feed-out point and the allocation on balance group/grid operator level, it is possible to use shadow accounting in order to check the balancing group billing of the MAM. The expectations for the import of allocations can be generated from the master data view or the imported declaration lists of the grid operator. Following the allocation the BGM is supported with the identification of allocation clearing events. Bilaterally agreed quantities are imported indicating the clearing number and used for shadow accounting.

In order to check balancing group billing all relevant messages are imported and compared with elaborated quantities. Calculated energy quantities can be evaluated with prices to verify balancing energy as well as levies, charges, etc.

Balancing according to MaBiS – regulations for the German market

The module especially developed for MaBiS – market rules for balance group billing power – guarantees the implementation of a highly automated clearing process.

BGM as well as suppliers are able to monitor and control requirements, import, verification and processing of respective lists as well as further functionalities and any mandatory deadlines.

Billing

robotron*e~sales supports the user with all installations and fundamental tasks for billing regardless from the utilized accounting system. As central datahub this solution uses intensive communication with legacy systems. Technology and methods of integration follow IT strategies of the customer. The communication specialists of Robotron have the necessary knowledge regarding the integration of different external systems (billing, CRM, trading systems etc.).

With the integrated billing module the users are able to bill flexibly periodic or just once on the basis of metered load curves, SLP, forecasts or calculated consumption rates.

Invoice verification offers an integrated receipt and status administration. This way a complete and transparent storage of verification results is possible.

Tariff and sales planning

The module for tariff and sales planning assists the user with monthly forecasts and planning of quantities, costs, revenues and contribution margins. For the calculation, data can be imported from the source system (e.g. SAP). It allows for the possibility to create more than one (different) scenario with different price adjustments and growth/loss in volumes.

The module tariff and sales planning provides comprehensive evaluation and reporting possibilities. Due to the integration of Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) tools the user is able to generate the latest data in form of an individual layout to further optimize decision- making processes in the organization.

The analyzed research results can be exported to downstream systems (such as SAP BW) and therefore can be provided for other organizational areas within the company.

Sales controlling

The central time series management system offers the fundamental data basis for a modern sales controlling of utility companies. The contribution margin analysis in particular plays an integral role when assessing success factors of the company. The application of different forecasting techniques for individual consumption as well as the survey of specific procurement, sales and management costs makes the contribution margin-oriented calculation of individual contract closures possible as well as the forecast of the respectively achieved contribution margins. For all relevant positions of the contribution margin scheme including all revenue components, the comparison of target and actual data is offered in an ex-ante and ex-post approach. This is also true for the examination of customer groups, products, divisions or the entire company. The contract portfolio of the company is assessed as part of the contract controlling in order to determine the performance of the sales organization. The achieved contract closures are compared to sales targets in terms of quantity and turnover. It is complemented by weighted offer values concerning closure probabilities. These analyses can be issued with integrated standard report tools and furthermore can be provided for the management with the special BI evaluations.

Sales balancing and portfolio comparison with procurement

Free portfolio generation including sum load curves for consumptions and forecasts allows for specific views at the sales potential. At the same time, evaluations on customer advisors, branches, products, sales segments and balancing groups with target/actual comparisons serve to make the success factors of sales transparent as well as to fulfill the market role.

The strategy of operation between sales and procurement can be completely mapped with robotron*e~sales. The sales organization, for instance can create long-term demand forecasts, weigh its closure and portfolio probabilities, include ad-hoc updates and communicate it to procurement. Besides the multi-commodity ability the EDM core forms the basis for high-performance storage of master and transaction data, which has been successfully proven in several mass data tests. System-independent process automation and control, free grouping options of EDM contents, mapping of any tariff information and a European public holiday calendar are further elements of the core functionalities.

Automated market communication

The communication automation, as a component of the EDM core, drastically reduces the daily amount of work concerning data exchange with other market participants. All import and export activities are organized as a result of the networking of company-wide communication platforms. This way, for example, incoming emails are automatically accepted at various accounts and imported without any manual effort. Furthermore, receipts are dispatched. For all cases of application the compliance with the latest IT security and signature regulations is required.

Intuitive calculation options

The formula editor assists with freely arranging mathematical and statistical calculations with time series. These calculations can exist of arbitrary operands, operators, simple mathematical functions and complex time series functions. The formulas can be hierarchical or mathematical illustrated.

By allocating formulas to calculation jobs calculations can be automated, logically linked and result-oriented released. The calculations are executed depending on the data quality of incoming time series in terms of status and/or plausibility parameters.

Comprehensive evaluations

Over several years established reports still can find application. Based on a detailed user authorization the module Excel-Reports offers mechanisms to automatic fill-in and dispatch reports.
