Issue 49 Utah Edition

Hi! My name is Eric DeVries, I transferred out to Salt Lake from our Chicago branch early last

year in 2013. This has been the best move for

my family with dual appreciation toward both

Robert-James Sales as well as our welcoming

church home out here, Prince of Peace

(popslc.org) which is a sister congregation to

the church in Palos Heights back in the Chi-

cago area (mentioned in Issue 41 – March,

2012 PIPELINE.) Because not finding a

healthy church that is a member of the Wis-

consin Evangelical Lutheran Synod would

have honestly been a deal breaker for me, this

made me a bit nervous at first. This church not

only made a great first impression, it has sur-

passed all of my/our expectations. Although I

have moved around a bit before my years with

Robert-James with mostly the Marine Corps

and can find enjoyment and excitement in a big

move, my wife Kristene has never been much

more than walking distance from her home and

family for any extended period of time before

this

leap out west. This was also a concern. But our

new church family out here has made the transi-

tion for her, our daughter Priscilla and I so com-

fortable, the mere thought of going back is not

even in question. With the scenery, landscape, cul-

ture, and the new family out here just west of the

Rockies, all we want to do is encourage everyone

we know to move out near us rather than us wish-

ing to be back with them. My family and I are

very pleased with this move and want to thank

Robert-James for making this scary yet exciting

transition into the unknown possible. It has been

very much worth it. Thank you.

FUN FACTS Utah has five National Parks: Arches, Can-

yonlands, Zion, Bryce and Capital Reef.

The great lake salt lake is 3 to 5

times saltier than the ocean. Fish

free, the lakes largest aquatic

creatures are the Brine Shrimp.
