Daniel is a national award-winning marketing executive with more than 15 years of experience working on brand and market strategies in the automotive, healthcare, banking, sports, mobile technology and building solution industries. He currently oversees marketing strategy for a multi-billion dollar portfolio of products at Ingersoll Rand. Daniel graduated from the University of Virginia and holds his master’s degree in marketing management from New England College. He is the 2014 American Advertising Federation Western Virginia Ad Person of the Year for his work at Member One FCU.

Abney is a member of the World President’s Organization, a director for RGC Resources, Pinnacle Financial Partners and Carilion Clinic, and a Carilion Foundation board member. He is a member of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association board and is a trustee of The Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. He received his B.A. in economics from Washington & Lee University and his M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. Abney has also been active in youth sports, coaching baseball, basketball and football for Greater Southwest Athletics in Roanoke City.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, Greg founded Firefli with the goal of creating a culture-driven environment where employees come first, not necessarily the clients. This model has helped the firm grow to national recognition by attracting some of the best talent in their industry. In addition to a recent mention by Forbes, Firefli has also been recognized alongside CNN, Hubspot, and Time Warner Cable by The Webby Awards, the leading international awards honoring excellence on the Internet.Prior to Firefli, Greg spent 15 years at WDBJ7 CBS Television serving in various roles. Named Advertising Person of the Year by the Roanoke Chapter of the American Advertising Federation in 2013, Greg also holds board positions with the United Way of Roanoke Valley and the Roanoke Regional Chamber. In addition, he participates in the International Research & Exchanges Board.Greg lives in Roanoke with his wife, Donna-Jean, and their two children, Harrison (18) and Lillian (16).

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlie covers the commercial real estate, housing, and construction sectors of the U.S. regional and macro economy. He regularly writes indicator reports, produces special commentary, and contributes to Well Fargo’s Weekly Economic & Financial Commentary. His commentary on the regional and U.S.economy has been featured in various regional and national media publications, including Bloomberg News and the Washington Post. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2017, Charlie worked as a regional economist and consultant for IHS Markit and more recently for CertainTeed, one of the largest building product manufacturers in North America.Charlie earned a MA in economics from Temple University in Philadelphia and holds a B.A. and B.S. in economics and finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the National Association of Business Economics, Philadelphia Council of Business Economics and Charlotte Economics Club.

CHARLIE DOUGHERTY

Independent Nutrition Support Consultant, Fit Body Boot Camps in Southwest and Central Virginia

Robyn is a wife, mother of three teenagers and serial entrepreneur who has a love for fitness, nutrition, leadership and personal growth. Having been in the beauty and fitness business since 1998, and personally and professionally having dealt with the mass flood of nutrition, fitness programs and technology, it is her opinion that it is actually harder to deal with and understand life balance and health. Since 2017, Robyn has incorporated techniques personally and has helped hundreds of clients take better control of their health, their time and their life.

ROBYN GOODPASTURE

Principal, Woods Rogers

Mike handles a wide variety of matters ranging from compliance with federal employment and labor laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, to insurance coverage disputes, non-compete litigation and commercial torts. Mike has tried cases in state and federal courts across Virginia and his knowledge and experience with the appellate process is invaluable at all levels of a lawsuit. He is also experienced in defending claims filed with state and federal agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Virginia Employment Commission. Mike is an active member of the Rotary Club of the Blue Ridge – New Generations, which works to assist underserved youth in the Roanoke Valley. Mike is also the past legislative chair for the Roanoke Valley Society for Human Resource Management and is a chair-elect for the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association. In his time at Washington and Lee University School of Law, Mike earned the position of lead articles editor on the Washington and Lee Law Review, won first place in the Appellate Advocacy Competition and placed fourth in the Nation in the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition.

Chief Workforce Advisor to the Governor

As the Commonwealth’s highest ranking workforce officer, Megan oversees a range of regional, state and federal programs that connect Virginians to the skills, training and opportunities they need to thrive in the 21st century economy. In addition to her partners within government, Megan works closely with Virginia’s labor and business communities to identify and fill vacant jobs in high demand sectors including IT, healthcare and energy.Having started her career as science professor at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Megan keenly appreciates how education can change lives and communities. Prior to joining the Northam administration, she served as Virginia’s first director of STEM-H under Governor McAuliffe before returning to the Virginia Community College System as assistant vice chancellor for academics. Megan is a proud product of Virginia’s public schools, holding a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, a master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University and a doctorate from Old Dominion University.

DR. MEGAN HEALY

Director of Communications, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Foundation Center for Education and Workforce

Abby has more than 10 years of experience leading strategic communications and creative operations for organizations of all types and sizes. Before joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, she was the senior account lead at a digital communications agency, managing integrated marketing as well as creative brand, corporate identity, and content strategy for digital and print accounts for corporate, government, military, and nonprofit entities. Client accounts spanned varied markets, including federal, retail, IT consulting and more. Her prior experience includes leading communications and creative services for the Universal Service Administrative Company; leading communications for the firmwide talent development studio at Gensler, an international architecture and design firm; and various communications and marketing roles at the National Center for Victims of Crime. Abby graduated cum laude from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. Originally from Davidsonville, Maryland, she lives in Alexandria, Virginia.

ABBY HILLS

Principal, Woods Rogers

Patice is an attorney with a diverse litigation practice and experience. She focuses primarily on employment litigation defense, intellectual property, transportation law (FELA, SAA, LIA), general civil and commercial litigation, real estate and commercial and residential landlord-tenant litigation and insurance defense. Patice handles cases involving breach of contract, the False Claims Act, eminent domain, trademark and copyright law, commercial and residential lease disputes and landlord-tenant litigation, and professional malpractice defense. She has extensive experience litigating cases in state and federal court as well as in mediation. Through her multifaceted litigation experience, Patice has garnered extensive knowledge in the areas of defending witness and document subpoenas and FOIA. Patice is a member of the Virginia Lawyers Weekly 2016 group of Up and Coming attorneys. She is also the Roanoke Bar Association’s Young Lawyer of the Year for 2016. Virginia Super Lawyers selected her as a “Rising Star” in 2015 and 2016. In 2014, she was awarded the Rev. F.E. Alexander Award for Excellence in Business by the Roanoke Chapter of the Urban Professional League.In the community, Patice serves as a board member and legal counsel for the Miss Virginia Pageant, Inc. She is chair of the Agency Funding Advisory Committee for arts and cultural organizations for the City of Roanoke. Roanoke City Council appointed Patice to the board of the Roanoke Cultural Endowment Fund and the Roanoke Arts Commission.

PATICE L. HOLLAND

COO/EVP, Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and Leadership

& Life Purpose Coach

Christine is a coach, facilitator and owner of a personal retreat and rejuvenation center in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her leadership journey started more than 17 years ago when she was hired at the Lynchburg Regional Chamber (now the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance) to oversee their Leadership Lynchburg program. Leadership Lynchburg is now considered a flagship program for emerging and high potential leaders and provides skill building, community engagement and team projects with more than 2,500 graduates. In 2015, she led the Chamber into a successful merger with their regional economic development organization eliminating competition and creation regional collaboration that had been non-existent for years. During her tenure at the Alliance, Christine also launched several initiatives and regional business programs. She is the recipient of the National Preceptor Award for innovative and impactful leadership from the Community Leadership Association. She has her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty and she received her coaching credentials from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. She is a gifted and inspirational facilitator and frequently shares her facilitation skills to local, state and national organizations for workshops and retreats in the areas of leadership, life balance, strategic planning and change management. She currently serves as chair-elect of the U.S. Chamber’s Southeast Board of Regents, member of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the local Workforce Development Board.

CHRISTINE KENNEDY

CEO, Voltage Leadership Consulting

Jeff has been an executive coach to management and leadership professionals in both for profit and not-for-profit organizations since 2001. Working for Capital One and Carilion Clinic, Jeff brings more than 25 years of experience working as an executive in human resources and operations roles leading: operations, human resources, and merger and acquisition efforts. He uses a collaborative approach with his clients to help them determine their vision and then identify a plan to help them achieve their full potential in their professional and personal lives. Jeff graduated cum laude with a BBA from James Madison University in management and history. He also holds an MA from George Washington University in human resource development. Additionally, Jeff graduated from Georgetown University with an Executive Coaching and Leadership Certificate and became a Fellow of the Advisory Board in 2006. He earned his Professional Coach Certification through the International Coaching Federation. Voltage Leadership has national and international clients: City of Roanoke, Coca Cola, Newport News Shipyard, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, NYU Langone Medical Center, Carilion Clinic, Delta Dental Virginia, Carolinas Healthcare, Interactive Achievement, Novozymes, Torc Robotics and many more.
