Roach Accepts Rev. J. Kenneth Roach is the new pastor of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church, taking over his duties Sunday, March 5th. Mr. Roach is a native of Chesnee, S.C., a son of Rev. C.D. Roach and Bulah Mahaffey Roach of Chesnee, s.c. The new minister is married to the former Miss Helen Teague, daughter of Mrs. Pauline Teague and the late C'.B. Teague of the Chase Community. Mr. Roach is a graduate of Chesnee High School, Fruitland Bible Institute and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While in the seminary he worked in the Burbon Street (Turn To Page 2) Mission in New Orleans, (The Way). His work was with alcoholics, drug addicts, and mostly teenagers. Following graduation at the seminary the local minister accepted the pastorate at Williamsburg Baptist Church in Collins, Mississippi, where he served for one year before accepting the pastorate at Mt. Creek Baptist Church. The Roaches have three children, Dale 11, a fifth grader <nd Terry, a member of the third grade at Gilkey elementary school, and Greta, age 5. Rev. Kenneth Roach, 41, of Route 1, Forest City, died in the Spartanburg General Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Spar­

tanburg County; a former pastor in Mississippi, at Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, and at Cross Road Baptist Church in Seneca, S.C.; member of the Floyds Creek Baptist Church; a graduate of Fruitland Bible Institute and New Orleans Theological Seminary; was a mason; and the son of the Rev. C.D. and Beulah Mahaffey Roach of Chesnee, s.c. . Also surviving is his wife,

Helen Teague Roach; two sons, Dale and Terry Roach of the home; one daughter, Greta Roach of the home; six brothers, Calvin Roach of Woodruff, S.C., Dewitt, Dan­ ny, and David Roach, all of Chesnee, S.C., Randy Roach of Spartanburg, S.C. and Wayne Roach of Lattimore; four sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Lee, Mrs. Brenda Lee, Mrs. Diane Bryant, and Miss Renee Roach, all of Chesnee, s.c. Services were conducted

at 3 p.m. today at Floyds Creelt Baptist Church witli Rev. Billy Holland and Rev. Claude White officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Crowe's Mor­ tuary had charge of ar- rangements. I \
