    Richmond Main St. Farmers' Market

    The Richmond Main St. Farmers' Market returns for the season onWednesday, May 8, 10am to 2pm, 13th and Nevin Ave. There will be

    awesome produce and other artisan products, contests, fun kids'activities, and lots more through the season. So come down and

    celebrate the season's opening!

    Cherry Time!

    May is cherry season and the farmers' market is filled withbrightly colored piles of sweet local cherries. From Bings andBurlats, to Brooks and Rainiers, these cherries will sweeten yourspringtime! They're available only in May and June, so get somenow!     Cool Cucumbers

    Botanically speaking, the cucumber is a fruitin the gourd family and in the same genusas the muskmelon. Cucumbers partner wellwith tomatoes, onions, lettuces, andcheeses, as often found in Mediterraneancuisines. Cultivated worldwide, commonmarket varieties include English, Armenian, Japanese, Lemon,and pickling. Cucumbers are typically available in the farmers'

    market from May through October. Get out the canning jars!

    Market Highlights

    From the Manager: New to the market! Savory Crepes - yum! AndJulie's Roasted Corn /Potatoes is here with their new funnel cakes.Yes, we still have lots of healthy fruits and veggies but it doesn't hurt toindulge once in awhile! ---Ron Jackson

    Ochoa Flowers: Just in time for Mother's Day! A wonderful array ofcolorful spring and early summer flowers like roses, carnations, lilies,alstroemerias, freezias, eucalyptus branches, and so much more.

    J&J Ramos Farms: Watch for their delicious cherries and stonefruitarriving very soon. And pick up some of their awesome almonds, too.

    Julies Roasted Corn & Potatoes: Grilled corn on the cob with all kindsof toppings from butter, cheese, and bacon crumbles to mayo, lemonand chili flakes. Stuffed baked potatoes with all kinds of add-ons. Trytheir new awesome funnel cakes, too.

    Nunez Farm: Fantastic organic veggies like dinosaur kale, red andgreen cabbage, rainbow chard, green globe artichokes, field carrots ,and lots of red and white potatoes.

    Cobblestone Bakery: Awesome pastries like danish filled with f ruit,cheesecake, cannoli, and croissants stuffed with chocolate and othergood things.

    La crepe a moi: Both sweet and savory crepes. Savory include hamand cheese, spinach with cramelized onions and Swiss cheese -

    decadent! For sweet treats try the chocolate, banana, or strawberry.

    Market Events

    May 8: Opening Day! Be one of the first 25 people to visit the marketand receive $2 in Carrot Cash to spend at the market. We're alsogiving away roses to all the moms in the crowd in honor of Mother'sDay, while supplies last. There will be great music, kids' act ivities, andall the best farmers and producers to keep you happy. Enter to w inlunch at the market and a bag of fresh seasonal produce.
