77% of businessesexperiencing a major fire
never fully recover.
Its a frightening statistic.
But imagine knowing thatyou could have prevented
such a disaster. . .
Our clients understand that our Fire Risk
Assessments are invaluable investmentsthat help prevent major losses and disruption
caused by fire. And they know the stringent
fire-related responsibilities UK law imposes.
Damage caused by fire is hard enough
to bear when things are going well,
but during a downturn it could provefatal to many businesses.
What you need to know
Under UK Law:
Every owner/occupier is
required to carry out a Fire Risk
Assessment on their buildings
If you employ 5 or more people,
you must record any significantfindings of this Assessment
The Fire Risk Assessment
must identify:
- Sources of ignition
- Evacuation arrangements
- Warning systems- Risk to personnel
- Fire safety equipment
- Signage
Failure to comply with regulations can lead to a
fine of up to 10,000, or up to 2 years in prison.

Asbestos-relateddiseases are responsible
for over 3,000 deaths
a year in the UK.
Make no mistake aboutit - the law takes asbestos
management very seriously.
If youre in control of any business premises,
your legal requirements include:Establishing if asbestos
is on the premises
Preparing and implementing
a risk management plan
Keeping written records of the
location and condition of asbestosand presumed asbestos materials
We have found dealing with NFU
Mutual and the Risk Management
Services department extremely
beneficial to our business. A
representative has sat in on
internal committee meetings
and their input has been both
valuable and well received. Wehave continued to improve our
Health & Safety performance
since they have been involved
using their proactive approach.

Failure to manage workplace asbestos
poses very real health risks to you
and your staff. It can also lead to:
HSE Prohibition Notices closing
areas or entire sites
Unlimited fines for companies
(up to 20 000 fines for individuals)
Directors being disqualified
Up to 2 years imprisonment for
responsible individuals
Thats where we come in.
Our team of professionally trained AsbestosConsultants can help you develop your

Then well provide a comprehensive and
clear report detailing the location of asbestos
containing materials and, if found, their type
and condition. We also give detailed guidance
