get the most out of open day Choosing your career path is an important decision. Make sure you make an informed choice by asking the right questions.

Important questions to ask on the day:

» What programs are available in your area of interest?

» What subjects/activities are compulsory?

» Does the program include work experience or internships?

» What are your career options after graduation?

» Will you have the chance to interact with potential employers?

» Can you study overseas for a semester or two?

» Which presentations will be of most value?

Have you considered the following:

» What is the ATAR to get into the program?

» Are there any prerequisite subjects?

» Are there other requirements such as sitting for an interview or presenting a folio of work?

» What alternative pathways are available in case you do not meet the entry requirements?

» Are you eligible for a scholarship? What other options are available to help fund your studies?

» Is an equity admission scheme relevant for your application?

Open Day is the one day of the year when all three Melbourne campuses open their doors to showcase courses, facilities, staff and students. To start off the day, try one of the general information presentations or visit the General Information Marquee to help get your bearings.

student InformAtIon: opening up opportunitieS For eVeryoneAccess all areas!

RMIT University welcomes its students to a vibrant learning community.

RMIT values the rich diversity of the student population and offers an experience that is culturally enriching and tolerant of many traditions and beliefs. RMIT recognises that education has a key role in enabling people to reach their full potential and is committed to supporting the success of all students who choose to study at RMIT and who are admitted to a course.

By using an equity admission scheme you have an opportunity to outline and document your background, your achievements and your preparation for further study. It is a way for you to ensure that your individual circumstances are considered in the selection process for both TAFE and higher education

courses. RMIT encourages you to make use of equity admission schemes if you believe that your particular circumstances warrant special consideration in securing a place in one of RMIT’s courses.

Join one of the ‘Introduction to RMIT’ presentations or visit the General Information Marquee on each campus for more information.

Pathways to success

Pathways provide opportunities for students to transfer from one course to another. It is another way of getting to where you want to go. Different levels of study at RMIT mean you can explore more than one way of getting the qualification you want.

You could also get recognition for your existing skills and knowledge. Completed TAFE qualifications can be credited towards a degree and, alternatively, partly completed degree studies may be accredited to a TAFE diploma or advanced diploma.

For more information about pathways, visit the General Information Marquee at each campus or call (03) 9925 2260.
