Co- Curricular Activities: Hawan Yajna’ To seek the blessings of the Almighty for the new academic session 2018-19, the school organized a ‘ Hawan Yajna’ on 1th April, 2019.
Baisakhi Celebration:
On 12th April, 2019, Baisakhi –the festival of harvest was celebrated with great fervour and joy. The students sang songs and danced on the Bhangra beats. A numerous poems related to Baisakhi were recited by the

students and enlightened the audience about Sikh history. School Principal, Mrs. Sonali Sharma, highlighted the historical and cultural heritage of the day. She also paid rich tribute to the great martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Earth Day Celebration:
To sanitize the students towards their role in addressing global
environmental challenges at grass root level, the school celebrated ‘Earth
Day’ on 9th May, 2019. To mark Earth day and emphasizes upon the need
to save tree, Primary wing students planted saplings in the school
campus. Students of VI to Xth class took part in poster making and slogan
writing competition. Whereas Pre-Primary wing’s students celebrated
Earth Day by making it Green Day.

Yoga Day: The school organized a yoga session for the students on 28
th May, 2019. Mrs. Ramni Sharda
(Yoga trainers , Art of Living) taught various Aasanas starting with warming up and stretching
followed by the series of Padmasna, Pawan Muktasana, Chaknasana, Halasana etc. After asanas
session students were also taught the Pranayama. The students were also educated on the
importance of yoga by the yoga trainer. They were explained that yoga helps in maintaining not
only physical and mental health but also a healthy social life.

Sunshine Day OR Yellow Day:
Yellow, the colour of sunshine stands for freshness, enlightenment, optimism and joy.
On 28th of May, 2019, the pre-primary students celebrated Yellow Day. The Motive of

celebrating this day was to make the kids aware of the colour Yellow and its
significance. The Whole corridor was decorated with yellow balloons and cut outs.
Students were dressed in yellow and performed dance & recited poems.

Cultural Activity:
The Pre-Primary wing organized a cultural programme on 31st May, 2019. Tiny tots
were attired in Punjabi dresses and performed Gidha and Bangra on songs.

Participation in Vadic Chetna Shivir School’s five students of 7th to 9th standard participated in four days Vedic Chetna and Charitra Nirmaan Shivir organized by DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar from 1st June to 4th June, 2019 . Whereas five girls (stanard7th to 9th) participated six days Vedic Chetna Shivir, organized by DAV Public School, Pakhowal, Ludhiana. Where they participated in regular hawans, activities involving declamation contest, recitation of vedic shlokas, singing bhajans, presentations of the great lives of the honorable sages and stalwarts of Arya Samaj and in Yoga sessions.
Sports Camp:
Sports and physical activities are an integral part of our curriculum as they play a vital role in child’s development .The school organized a sports camp for the students of classes 3rd to 9th during summer vacation from 3rd June to 15th June, 2019. The children participated in a fun filled activities, games like (Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Kho-kho,
Badminton) & athletics. The main objective of the camp was to build up strength and endurance in the children, improve their skill levels and build motivation, ambition and confidence.

Student Police Cadet Programme:
On the direction of Ministry of Home Affairs, Nawanshahr Police organized Student Police
Cadet Programme in the school campus on 7th
June, 2019. The main aim of this was to build
bridge between Police and large community through school students by inculcating values and
ethics in them. On this occasion, Mr. Kailash Chand (DSP Nawanshahr), was the chief
guest. In other guests, Mr. Mamohan Gulati, Mr. Bahahdur Chand Arora, Riya Arora (Member,
Sanjh Committee) and Mr. Chaman Lal (ASI, Sanjh Committee, NSR) were present.

Education Fair:
Choosing a career that suits one’s abilities is a difficult task for XII students & XII Pass out students . These days as plenty of options are available at hand but children do not have sufficient knowledge about the same. Keeping this in mind, a two days Education Fair was organized by the faculty members: Dr. Jasveer Rishi (Dean of Students Welfare) , Dr. R.K. Seth (Associate Professor & Head of Physics Department), Dr. Inderjit Singh (Head of Electronics Communication Departments) of DAV University, Jalndhar on 12th -13th June, 2019 in the school campus.

Cooking without Fire: To create awareness about nutritional value of food cooked without fire among students, an activity ‘ Cooking without Fire’ was organized in school premises on 20th July,2019. Where students prepared various dishes and showed their culinary skills and creative ideas.
International Plantation Day:

As we all know how trees help Earth in purifying the air and absorbing the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Trees are vital and very crucial component of our ecosystem. To motivate the students towards plantation and to give support to ‘Go Green Campaign’, the school organized International Plantation Day in school campus on 20th July, 2019.
Blood Checkup Camp:
Health is being one of the most important issue in today’s scenario, over this, Vishbha Hindu Prishad organized a free Blood Check-Up & HB test Camp for +1 & +2 students on 27th July 2019 in the school premises. Lalit Kumar Arohi (President, Vishbh Hindu Parishad, NSR) and other members Anil Sehgal, Jitender Sengar, Parmod Kumar Rana, Jaswinder Kumar, Balram Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Indrpal, Kuldeep Khana were present on this occasion. School Principal, Mrs. Sonali Sharma conveyed her

thanks to the visiting members of Vishbh Hindu Parishad and assisting medical staff members for conducting blood checkup camp.
Poetry Recitation Competition:
The school organized a poem recitation competition in the school premises on
27th
July, 2019 for the pre-primary classes. The purpose of the competition was to
instill a love for poetry and to develop recitation skills among the students. All
students of pre-primary classes participated in the competition with enthusiasm.
They recited the poems with ease and confidence. The school Principal, Mrs.
Sonali Sharma appreciated the efforts put in by the students.

Quiz competition help the students to think from a different perspective. It also promotes many good qualities like teamwork, problem solving skills, time management, and patience. In order to test the knowledge of basic concepts a Science and Mathematics quiz was conducted on 27th July, 2019 .In which Students from classes IV to VII participated in two categories. Students showed a lot of interest and participated actively.
Role Play Competition: The school organized a role play competition for the students of Pre-primary wing on 3th August, 2019. The objective of organizing the competition was to develop confidence in the tiny tots and to promote the skills of effective public speaking among them. All
students of pre-primary classes participated in the competition with enthusiasm. The
competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students.

Tree Plantation Drive:
When we plant a tree, we contribute to building up the eco-system. To communicate this point,
students of Eco Club, undertook a Plantation Drive on 3rd
August, 2019 on the School premises. The
students along with the help of teachers and gardener planted some saplings in school campus. They
also cleaned the surrounding areas by picking the waste material and plastic material which
were lying there.

Haryali Teej Celebration:
The school celebrated the Teej festival with glee and euphoria on 9th August, 2019.
The swings in the school were decorated beautifully with flowers. The students were
attired in Punjabi dresses. To mark the celebration more memorable and enjoyable a
cultural programme was prepared by the students under the guidance and
supervision of their teachers. Mrs. Rashmi Ghai (Pradhan, Arya Samaj Mahila
Samiti, Jalandhar), Ms. Alka Meena (D.S.P. NSR) were the chief guests on the
occasion. Students sang songs, gave speeches and performed Giddha on the occasion.
They also enjoyed swings and applied various design of Mehandi on their hands.
Independence Day Celebration & Saravani Upakaram: Independence Day was celebrated with full fervour and gaiety in the school campus on
14th August, 2019. On this historic day of national significance, the students recited
poems, sang patriotic songs and remembered the martyrs and freedom fighter. They
showed their creative and designed skills by making tri-coloued flags, posters and
slogan writing on Independence Day. Same day school celebrated Saravani Upakaram,

one of important festival of Arya Samaj. In which students were told about the meaning,
importance and rituals conducted in during festivals.
Shobha Yatra on Janmashatmi
A ‘shobha yatra’ was taken out in Nawanshahr City on the occasion of Janmashatmi
on 22nd August, 2019. A large number of devotees and schools students participated in
the procession. Our School’s students of class VII to XI also participated in it .The

Shobha Yatra started from Purani Dana Mandi, passed via Railway Station, Nehru
Gate, Chandigarh Chowk , Kothi Road, Geeta bhawan Road and Railway Station.
Janmashtami Celebration: ************************************
Janmashatmi also known as Krishnashtami, Gokulashatmi, Ashtami Rohini. Celebrated on the 8th day of Shravana month, it marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great Zeal and enthusiasm in our school on
23rd August, 2019. On this occasion Sh. Vinod Bhardwaj (President, Aarya Samaj &
Arya Samaj Institution, Nawanshahr) was the chief guest. Children of Primary classes
came dressed in as Krishna, Radha and other colourful outfits. The teacher along with
students, sang aarti and bhajans which were applauded and appreciated by everyone.
Also, the festival’s importance was explained to the students.
Essay Writing Competition:
An English essay writing competition was organized for students of std VI to XII on
23rd August, 2019 in school. The students were asked to write on the topics ‘Importance
of Sports & Games” (VI to VII), “Patriotism in Coming Generation”(for XI to X) and
“Drug Abuse” (for XI and XII). The essay was judged on the basis of Presentation,

content knowledge, grammar usage and mechanics. The purpose of the competition
was to encourage the students to enhance their thinking and writing skills.

Live Telecast of Inauguration of Fit India Movement:
The school organzed a live telecast of Fit India movement in its campus as per
direction of CBSE on 29th August,2019. Students of classes along with teacher watched
the live telecast of the programme on Doordarshan in which Prime Minister addressed
the nation and encouraged the people to adopt a fit and healthy lifestyle. Students took
oath to make well meaning efforts for their health and well being of every person
around them and achieve physical and mental strength and emotional equanimity.
Swachhta Pakhwara:
Students of RMB DAV Centenary Public School remembered Mahatma Gandhi on his
150th birth anniversary. On the occasion, various events were conducted at school in
accordance with the guidelines of CBSE. A Cleanliness Drive for 15 days was
organized in the school campus. The main purpose of this drive was to create
awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. Students as
well as teachers participated with enthusiasm in the cleanliness drive. As a part of
this Cleanliness Drive, they cleaned school campus. A special assembly was organized
where students and teachers took a pledge to keep clean their school, home, public
places & surroundings. A Slogan and Poster Making competition, hand wash
activity , seminar personal hygiene were organized.

Inauguaration Cermony of Atal Tinkering Lab
In an endeavor to inculcate and develop scientific temperament in the young learners of
today, the school proudly set its steps into the noble mission of knowledge
enhancement. .With a vision to cultivate one million child innovators in India, Atal
Innovation Mission by NITI Aayog and Government of India envisaged a novel
programme - establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories in schools across the
country. The lab was inaugurated by Sh. Arvind Ghai Ji (Secretary DAVCMC, New
Delhi & Chairman of School) , along with our guest of honour ,Sh. Vinod Chugh Ji
(Principal, DMS, Model Town Jalandhar).

Science Exhibition:
A one day Science Exhibition was held at the premises of the school, on 5th October,
2019. The students of six schools from classes VI to XII participated group wise in the
exhibition with great scientific temperament and exhibited their knowledge about
science and its innovation. They presented still and working models depicting different
themes such as Water Conversation, Smart city, Health and Hygiene, Future
Recourses of Energy and digital and technical solutions etc. A penal of six judges
judged their innovation and declared the winners. In this competition, Scholar Public
School, Jadla got first, Shivalik Public School second & MR Citi, Balachaur 3rd position
in group 1 (6th to 8th ). In group 2, RMB DAV Centenary Public School, NSR secured 1st

postion, Scholar Public School, Jadla 2nd and Satluj Public School 3rd position. In group
3, RMB DAV Centenary Public School, NSR secured 1st postion & 2nd position and MR
Citi, Balachaur got 3rd position.
Mehandi Competition: Mehandi & Nail Art competition was organized in the school on 16th October, 2019. Students from Classes VI to XII participated in it with great enthusiasm. They made beautiful designs on their hands with help of Henna. In this competition, Alisha and Harman Kaur of (XI) got first position &
Banita (VIII), Harshita, Heesha of (X) secured second position. Where in Nail Art
Simran Rai Roop got first and Sukhman of (VI)second position.

Kho-Kho Tournament (Cluster Level) ‘All Work and no play make jack a dull boy’ so, to make our students active, smart and strong, DAVCMC New Delhi organizes several competitions at different levels. We hosts Kho-Kho Cluster Level Tournament every year. This year we hosted it on 19th October,2019, in which DAV Public School Nakodar , Police Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar ,Ludhiana, DAV Cent. Public school Dashuha, DAV Public school, Bilga and the host school participated in this tournament. In this competition, Police DAV, Jalandhar got first and RMB DAV Cent. Pub. School, Nawanshahr second position in boys . In girls, Police DAV, Jalandhar secured first and DAV Public School, BRS Nagar got second position.
Diwali Celebration:

Diwali , ‘Festival of Lights’ was celebrated in our school with great zeal and
enthusiasm on 25th October,2019. Various Competitions were organized on the
occasion. Students from Nursery to +2, enthusiastically participated in different
creative activities like colourful rangoli, matki making, candle decoration, wall
hanging garland making and decoration of diyas to showcasing the gaiety and
enthusiasm associated with the festival.

National Unity Day:
India is a land of diversity and rich colourful culture, which is a testimony of various kinds of
people who live here. Sardar Patel, the iron Man of India, was the instrumental in bringing India
together despite all differences. His 144th
birth anniversary was celebrated with great pomp
and show at school on 31 October2019 as National Unity Day. A special assembly was
conducted where students highlighted the contribution of Sardar Patel in the freedom
movement and uniting India. Students also took a pledge to dedicate themselves to preserve
the unity, integrity and security of country and countrymen.

Career counseling Seminar:
A career counseling seminar was conducted by faculty members of DAV University, Jalandhar in
school campus on 7th
November,2019. Professor Inderjeet Singh (Dept. of Electronics), Dr.
Gurdeep Singh (Dept. of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Karan Paul (Dept. of Bio Chemistry)
visited our school and guided the students of XI & XII about various career options available in
different stream after doing XII.
Inter House Poster Making & Slogan Writing Activity:
The school organized an Inter-House Poster Making & Slogan Writing activity for the students of the
Class VI on 9th November, 2019. The objective of the activity was to ignite the fire of imagination and
creativity in the students. The theme of the competition was ‘Save Environment’ Go Green, Pollution
Secularism, Drug Addiction etc . Students were asked to express their ideas through paintings and
Slogans. The young learners displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters. Students of all
the four houses participated in the competition with immense zeal and enthusiasm. It was a great

thoroughly enjoyed the activity.

Peace Rally:
On the occasion of “Guruparav” 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Ji , the School carried
out rally in the city on 13th November, 2019. The students made beautiful and attractive placards and
posters on various problems and issue like Go Green, save environment, cleanliness house wise.
They also gave message of harmony, equality and peace and also highlighted the preaches of Guru
Nanak Dev Ji. Around 400 students participated in the rally.

SOF ( Science Olympiad Foundation)
SOF conducts external competition exam every year in which the following exams
are being held NSO, IMO, ICSO, IEO, NCO & IGKO. The school has participated in
all these olympiads. This year 66 students from classes IV to XI has participated in
various Olympiads.
Prakash Parv:
The school celebrated Guru Nanak Dev's 550th birth anniversary with devotion and
reverence on 14th
November, 2019. On this occasion, Jarnail Singh Vahir was the chief
guest. In others guests Shri Surender Singh Gulshan Rt music teacher from Police DAV
School, Jalandhar, .'Gurubani' was performed by Shri Surender Singh Gulshan. The
students paid tributes to Guru Nanak Dev by spreading his divine message of harmony,
humility and equality through poems, speeches and orations.

Arya Samaj Annual Function:

Samaj, Model Town, Jalandhar , our school teachers and students
attended Arya Samaj Annual Function on 24th November, 2019 , where
students gave a classical dance presentation and performed a skit on Arya
Samaj’s achievements and role in society.

“Fit India School Week
The school observed the Fitness week in the third week of November, 2019 to
support the nation-wide “Fit India Movement” aimed to encourage people to
inculcate physical activities and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine.
Various activities were conducted within the school premises during this week
which included rope skipping, poster making, Aerobics, dance, yoga, tug of war

between students. The events saw wide participation by primary, middle and
senior wing students along with staff members of the school.

A Seminar “ Stress Free Teaching” was organized for teachers by Art of Living

A Visit to an Old Age Home:

Students of IX class visited to old age home, Saloh Road , NSR on 11th December, 2019.
The main aim of this visit was to sensitize them to the difficulties and problems of
homeless, aged people among students. They also donated plenty of clothes and
woolen.
Annual Sports Day:
Annual Sports Day was held on 28th December 2019.
