PARKING

Spectator parking is in the parking structure off Magnolia Ave. Turn into the campus via Terracina Dr, then left into the structure. RCC event parking is $5, purchased from machines with cash or card. Handicap parking is in LOT Y on the lower level of campus, adjacent to the stadium and handball courts. From Magnolia Ave, turn onto 15th St then immediate right on Stadium Way and stay right down the hill. Bus/Truck parking is in LOT E and LOT P on the lower level of campus. Buses, equipment trucks, and prop vehicles should arrive together. From Ramona Dr/City College Dr, turn into the campus via Saunders St and wait for the parking guides to direct you. There is NO spectator or parent parking in these lots except for anyone pulling a trailer with equipment or props. Inform all parents to use the parking structure. Also, please have your band staff members park across the street in LOT Q. Band Staff parking is in LOT Q on the lower level of campus on Ramona Dr/City College Dr, across the street from the Saunders Street campus entrance. Event Staff parking is in LOT Y, lower level of campus, adjacent to the stadium and handball courts. From Magnolia Ave, turn onto 15th St then immediate right on Stadium Way and stay right down the hill.

CHECK-IN

After parking, go to the check-in tent where the buses/trucks entered the parking lot. You will receive: � PERFORMER WRISTBANDS for entrance to visitor side bleachers or end zone track seating

� PIT PASSES for chaperones or pit/prop helpers – Pit Passes grant chaperones and pit/prop helpers home side access for your performance only. After your performance, they will have access to the band’s seating area on the visitor side or end zones. If they wish to watch the remainder of the contest from the home side grandstands they’ll need to purchase a spectator wristband.

SPIEL SHEET

Our announcer does many shows for each circuit and comes prepared with every band’s script. If you have changes/additions, bring them to the press box in advance of your performance, so he can prepare.

RESTROOMS

There are restrooms within the stadium as well as portable restrooms next to the stadium and additional portable restrooms in the bus/truck parking LOT E. The Huntley Gym locker rooms will also be open.

WARM-UP

Band warm-up areas are in LOT F and LOT P on the lower level of campus but are unassigned. Additional warm-up space is throughout the bus/truck parking in LOT E and LOT G but be mindful of other groups by not blocking sidewalks and driveways. Bands CANNOT warm-up on the upper level of campus due to Saturday classes and theatre events. Colorguard warm-up should be on the practice football field adjacent to the parking structure and stadium, or wherever else you find space. From the bus/truck parking lots, allow 5-10 minutes of comfortable transit time to the stadium staging area.

PROP STORAGE / STAGING / BAND ENTRY

Prop storage and staging are in LOT K, adjacent to the canal and pools, near the scoreboard, east of the stadium. Arrive at pre-stage 15 minutes prior to your performance time. You will enter the field from the side two back corner. Pits will follow the track outside lanes towards the home side, bands/props will enter straight onto the field at the back sideline. Props can be stored ahead of performance time. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the track, they must drive on field turf surface only.

ELECTRICAL POWER

Power will be available at the 50-yard line, front sideline. It is your responsibility to have a back-up power.

HASH MARKS

Our astroturf field has college (NCAA) hash marks at 60’ and 100’ from the front sideline. The high school hash marks will be taped onto the field turf at 53’4” and 106’8” from the front sideline.

PRESS BOX

Because of a previous stadium renovation, our press box is about 15 yards off-center towards side two. The “upstairs” judges will be on top of and inside the press box. It is up to you whether your instrument and visual orientation is “straight ahead” (as if a centered press box) or angled towards our press box. The majority of groups ignore our off-center press box and orientate straight ahead of the actual 50-yard line.

BAND EXIT

Band exit is at the side two back corner, where you entered. Bands should come forward off the field to exit on the front sideline, before or after their pit. Props may exit as needed on the backside of the field.

FIRST-AID

Basic first-aid is available at the stadium near the ticket booth (see Stadium Map). If you need moderate assistance, campus police dispatch can be reached at (951) 222-8171. Indicate that you are at Riverside City College, as our dispatch center is offsite and monitors other campuses as well. For serious medical attention, dial 9-1-1 immediately. The nearest hospital is across the street from the Riverside City College.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Our event has separate daytime and evening contests, each with their own awards ceremony. At the conclusion of competition for each contest, the RCC Marching Tigers will perform in exhibition. All student leaders are invited to watch our performance from field level along the home side track fence. Following the Marching Tigers performance, student leaders will assemble on side two at the Band Entry/Exit gate, near the scoreboard, and await instructions. Once final scoring has been tabulated, the RCC Drumline will play-on the student leaders as schools are announced. The specific awards given will be in accordance with WBA rules. Refer to the Schedule Page for complete line-up and times.

ADJUDICATION & COMMENTARY

Adjudicators and scoring system are provided by the Western Band Association (WBA). For commentary and score recaps, WBA uses a software program called Competition Suite. Refer to the WBA website for all rules, regulations, and policies. www.westernbands.org

HOSPITALITY

We have a wonderful hospitality for directors and staff to eat, relax, and socialize, located within the stadium on side one home side, outside the fenced field/track area. Look for the large white tent. This area is for directors and staff only… NO parents, boosters, pit/prop helpers, or performers, etc.

PERFORMER RE-ENTRY / BAND SEATING

Unfortunately, our home side grandstands are not large enough to accommodate paid spectators and performers. All bands have assigned seating on the visitor side bleachers OR end zone track chairs (see Band Seating map). Visitor bleachers and side two end zone track re-entry is the gate used for performance. Side one end zone track re-entry is the main spectator entrance near the ticket booth. Performers cannot sit on the home side, even with their parents, unless they purchase a spectator wristband. Bands from the daytime contest that wish to stay for the evening contest must contact Kurt Kilgus well in advance of the show date to arrange evening seating. (951) 222-8295 / kurt.kilgus@rcc.edu

ADMISSION & PROGRAMS

Our event has separate daytime and evening contests, each with their own admission. The stadium will be cleared after the daytime contest. We accept cash and card payment. If you’re attending the daytime contest and plan on staying for the evening contest, a new paid admission wristband is required. GENERAL ADMISSION $10 Adults (13+) DISCOUNT $7 Senior 65+ / Military w. ID / Child under 12 SMALL CHILD Free Under 5 years old Souvenir programs are $5 each and are sold at the ticket booth.

CONCESSIONS

We will have an assortment of food, snacks, and beverages available for purchase (see Concession Menu page for items and pricing). We will also have various vendors with additional offerings. Cash and card are accepted. There can be NO grills or open flames on campus, including in the parking lots. Please encourage your students and parents to support us and our vendors. Food IS allowed in the grandstands, but NOT on the field for the end zone track seats for performers… water is ok.

TOBACCO & ALCOHOL

Absolutely NO smoking, even vaping, or consumption of alcoholic beverages permitted on campus.

LOST & FOUND

Lost and Found is located at the Ticket booth, just behind the home side grandstands, outside the stadium.
