What is a River?

The earth is covered by a chain called river systems. A river is formed from a small creek on a mountain. Creeks are small bodies of rainwater. The water eventually flows down hill and forms a larger stream. When a few larger streams join together, a river is formed. Did you know that a river is actually just a larger version of a stream? The temperature around these areas depend mostly on how the water is flowing.

What is a Wetland?

A wetland is an area that is saturated with water. This is an area where the soil is completely soaked, either year-round or seasonally. A wetland could also be a slow moving river, but it includes coastal islands, swamps, and many other ecosystems. Much of the wetland area is covered in sawgrass, the sharp edges of each blade of grass is just like teeth on a saw.
