Most business meetings are still being conducted “old school” with everyone taking their own notes and having to email information back and forth after meetings. This presentation will show delegates how to use a Sharepoint platform that allows everyone to see each other’s notes in real time during meetings, and how documents and notes can be added to the conversation both during and after meetings. This kind of platform can save thousands of hours of time across a year, reducing redundancy and keeping people much more effectively connected.

TOMAGH BEHRAnthropologist and Principal – BA, MAKwusen Research and Media

Towagh has conducted Traditional Knowledge (TK), TLUS, and cultural documentation projects with over thirty indigenous communities in western and northern Canada in the past fourteen years. His expertise is in working with communities to document Aboriginal and Treaty rights and to then understand and communicate likely effects of industrial development and change upon these rights. In addition to conducting social sciences and archival research projects with communities, he has a technical background as a documentary filmmaker and website developer.

Towagh has a BA (joint honours anthropology &

media to work with First Nations in creating their own multimedia representations of their

cultures, languages, and traditional knowledge.

As an applied anthropologist, Towagh has worked with communities to integrate their TEK into environmental assessment processes for the oil and gas, mining, and energy sectors. He has also provided training and capacity building programs for First Nation communities that have included TLU research methods, interview methods, website development, and video production.

In response to challenges First Nations communities were having managing diverse recordings (maps, audio, video, notes, etc.)

made as a part of TLUS, Towagh designed a

secure web-based data management system. This web-based mapping and data management system grew into the

Community KnowledgeKeeper, which is now used by twenty Indigenous communities to manage research data and consultation with government and industry.
