An absolute 2012 highlight is the 8-day Tulip Cruise along the Dutch and Belgian waterways, including a visit to the famous FLORIADE World Horticultural Expo. With its impressive landscaping, enchanting mass flower displays and cultural programme of music, dance, litera-ture and theatre from all over the world, Floriade is truly fascinating. Our programme again features popular Theme Cruises. Next year lovers of classical music will have a total of four departures of Danube and Rhine cruises with selected opera program-mes and musical entertainment aboard, while our winter cruises for Advent, Christmas and the New Year offer warmly entertaining holidays at the coldest time of the year.

The world famous Green Globe certification body for sustainable tourism awards this distinction, for which not only do there have to be measures on board that demons-trably save energy and water, there also has to be an overall sense of responsibility about ecologi-cal matters pervading a companys day-to-day operations.

Bearing this in mind and in collaboration with atmosfair, the climate protection organisation, we also offer our passengers an opportunity to make a small contribution to offsetting the effect of the cruises modest carbon dioxide emissions, so that we can all keep faith with our lovely green continent far into the future.

Our Classic Rhine cruises, which ply from Amsterdam on the North Sea all the way upstream to Basel, Switzerlands highly cultural second city, guarantee you one cultural or scenic high-light after another as both kinds abound on this stretch of the Rhine. Just some of these high-lights are Amsterdams picturesque canals, followed by crossing the IJsselmeer, Hollands large inland sea; Cologne with its historic treasures and Romanesque churches, and the Moselle with its dense vineyards as far as Cochem; the central part of the Rhine valley with its numerous castles and the Lorelei rock, steeped in legend; Strasbourg, the thriving capital of Alsace with its French charm and then on to Basel, where Germany meets France and both meet Switzerland at the gateway to the Swiss Alps.

Our optional excursions, such as to the former royal seat of Heidelberg or a trip through Alsace exploring its famous wine route and romantic wine-growing villages, enable you to see how the man-made landscape to this side of the Rhine is a sort of work of art in itself. Another jewel of a journey takes you along Hollands important waterways and the rivers Rhine and Main both of major historical importance. Starting in romantic Amsterdam this cruise first of all takes you along Hollands fascinating network of canals to Cologne, one of the Rhines largest and most sparkling gems. The history of its vast cathedral goes back for more than 2.000 years. The AMADEUS Elegant then continues to the famous Deutsche Eck at the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine in Koblenz. The cruise on to Bamberg seems to be a seamless series of vineyards, wine-growing villages and half-timbered buildings. You then travel along the famous and interesting Rhine-Main-Danube Canal to the cruises final desti-nation, the Franconian city of Nuremberg.

A really special highlight of this itinerary is the optional add-on 3-day visit to the golden city of Prague. This Classic cruise down the Danube gives you a completely new take on the culture and scenery flanking this mighty European river. From the Bavarian city of Passau, where three rivers converge, this week-long round trip takes you first to Vienna, the Danubes great city that combines the glamour of its former royal and imperial status with the charm and friendly welcome of todays Austria. The next leg takes you to UNESCO-protected Budapest, with its triumphal buildings on both sides of the river exuding a grandeur youll never forget. The cruise continues down into the great plain of Hungary where youll be able to see demon-strations of Hungarian riding skills and sample exuberant Hungarian wine. Another intere-sting insight into this country comes from passing through the vast fields of peppers from which Hungarian paprika is made.

On the return voyage our AMADEUS ship moors in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, which has an imposing fortified castle and various Baroque palaces. Further upstream it pas-ses through the scenic beauties of the Wachau region, whose productive vines make it one of Austrias best wine-growing terrains. The cultural treasures of the towns of Krems and Duernstein are nearby, as is also the Benedictine Abbey of Melk. The ship then continues to end the cruise back in Passau.

The cruise continues down into the great plain of Hungary where youll be able to see demon-strations of Hungarian riding skills and sample exuberant Hungarian wine. Another intere-sting insight into this country comes from passing through the vast fields of peppers from which Hungarian paprika is made.

On the return voyage our AMADEUS ship moors in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, which has an imposing fortified castle and various Baroque palaces. Further upstream it pas-ses through the scenic beauties of the Wachau region, whose productive vines make it one of Austrias best wine-growing terrains. The cultural treasures of the towns of Krems and Duernstein are nearby, as is also the Benedictine Abbey of Melk. The ship then continues to end the cruise back in Passau.
